The giant discovery was a huge hit at SFDK, one of those would be cool
The one at SFOT ALWAYS has a full queue. Its a great ride. Lots of speed, airtime, and height.
-
IMO I think the park is over due for a Hurricane Harbor expansion. They also need to roll out the tram system to and from HH to SFOT as parking at the water park is sparse for the amount of guests that go.
In addition I think the Sling Shot will still be added to the New Gotham, Villians Village, area along with either a small kiddie ride and or additional shops and eateries.
-
I think a Woodie would be a great addition to the back drop of the Boardwalk area. I also noticed a lot of the teasers the park has been posting has been using the word "wood."

Since two Six Flags parks have release information of retiring two attractions, I'm just going to say it... VIPER'S ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK!
-
Are they also developing the track for the new SkyWarp for Skyline Attractions?
-
Didn't RMC say that they would not be producing track for the free spins anymore.
This is a recent pic from the RMC factory, and there appears to be free spin track behind the raptor and trex pieces.
Is this the same piece of TREX track we saw a year ago? I heard they were having difficulties developing a lift system with the TREX track.

Where did you hear this? Aren't they also doing the track for the new SkyWarp from Skyline Attractions.

Maybe this is what six flags is doing for their ''record breaking/first of it's kind'' attractions.
This theory has been posted before and got pooped on by most. I tend to agree that this was part of the tease by SF. The rumor of SF and Skyline deal seems more credible now. Multiple Skywarps might have been purchases for non superloop parks.
Skyline is announcing the park that bought it at IAAPA in November. Six Flags makes their yearly announcements in September. Six Flags did not buy the first SkyWarp. It doesn't make sense and doesn't fit the time line.

Won't surprise me if they finally renovate Rockville into Gotham and add a frisbee like Riddler up in Arlington.
they HAD a frisbee.. my favorite ride in the park.
they pulled it out a few years ago.
The Frisbee got removed to out in the Disko-o, Hurricane Force 5, on the Boardwalk. I doubt very seriously they will be adding another flat this year.

I have only been to this park once....
I will be coming down next week and plan on going to the park Thursday 6/29 (later afternoon if my plane lands on time and night) and Friday 6/30/17. May I ask how the crowds are usually on Thursdays and Fridays? We want multiple rides on pretty much every coaster since we won't get to this park much being from Maryland.
Think we may need a Flash Pass?
How long are you staying in town? I might go to the park on Monday.
-
Yeah... Definitely looks like the making of a typical spinning coaster...
I still see both options being available.

Lightning Rod is never going to have a chain lift hill.
They've already spent too much on having the world's fastest and only launched wood coaster to do anything that drastic to the ride experience IMHO.
Hypothetically if Lightning Rode were to get a chain left, would CREHOS count it as a new coaster credit? Asking for a friend.

I thought was already part of the speculation??? I'm pretty sure someone pointed that out with a video of Blue Fire.
Perhaps a rear-facing last car would be a better example of new speculation following the announcement of WBMW Australia's coaster?
I'd agree but the park stated this would be the worlds "first" or "only." The car on Blue Fire was a tester for a future project. Maybe this is it.
-
With the announcement of DC Rivals HyperCoaster, can we add to the speculation that this ride will have a spinning vehicle option in the back?
-
It's weird to see a theme parks discussion thread so quiet, when potentially you maybe getting one of the coolest new rides in 2018. Well, wait, Mean streak first, then what ever RMC has left over for you.
I believe Knott's is getting a Gerstlauer.

Still hung up on the emphasis in the "Like Nothing Else" statement though... A standard model coaster that shares similarities with a coaster in Europe is not really unique, albeit awesome. I still think there is a gimmick to all this that hasn't been revealed yet. Perhaps it will be something as simple as theming elements though? Something like "What's in the shed?" but with a mine shaft? That would be a relief, and at SDC that type of thing would actually go over extremely well.
This park and chain likes it's gimmicks and world's first's though. If we are betting, I'm still going with some kind of spinning action. After all, five different concept pitches showed spinning cars, and the concept pitches historically show the idea they are pursuing. I think it will be calculated though - people hear "spinning coaster" and immediately assume it will be spin-till-you-puke. I'm guessing a ride like this would have a combination of straight segments, free spinning segments, and controlled spinning segments. They have the technology and are spending the money to do it right. There's no way they are spending this much money on something that would turn people off.
There's also the fact to consider that the design may have changed considerably since the original pitch. I've noted before about the apparent changes during the staking/clearing process. They could have nixed the spinning concept for a more traditional model. Only time will tell...
At IAAPA they showed a revolving track. Maybe they will able to offer both a spinning train and a non spinning train. This would be "Like Nothing Else"

You mean something like Lex Luther's Drop of Doom?
