Granted, but they would be constantly arguing
I wish queues were replaced with slides
-
Granted but loading will be as slow as antique autos
I wish the GP couldn't get fast lane passes
-
Granted, but the lines would be insanely long, and filled with annoying GP
I wish valleyfair could get some sense and put in a new ride

I've been trying to find a coaster dynamix kit for ages, they haven't been in stock for about a year. They really need to get more sets in

^ Already ahead of you. I did contact Mr. Frazier about the sign. I did tell him about us wanting the sign to stay. This is what he said "I submitted a permit to see what will be approved for a new sign. The old sign is expensive to operate and maintain. I was here when it was new so I love it too."

It was a slow saturday, I didn't ask much about the future of the park because he looked pretty busy. But he said he does want to talk more so when I meet up with him next at the park I'll ask questions mostly towards the future of the park. I'll keep you guys updated. I did recommend selling old ride parts that were useless. I'm a roller coaster part collector actually and I think it would be cool to be able to buy a wheel off of wild thing or something. We discussed having an online store with merchandise, ride parts etc. if the demand is high enough. What do you guys think, would you want to see an online store with that kinda stuff? He said we won't be getting the huge invert like banshee because the park is focusing more on other things. What he did say is that the carousel might be getting a make over! That would be great if the carousel got a make over. It was made by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters in 1926 for Excelsior Amusement Park then it was moved to Valleyfair and is the oldest ride in the park. It would be nice to see the horses and the rest of the ride restored. They painted the roof last year which was better than the rusting blue top but more certainly could be done so it is nice to hear that it might. Did he mention a time frame or hint at when? Never expected a Banshee size coaster but you would think a smaller one could be done like Patriot mentioned above. Thanks for sharing about your visit with GM Frasier.
Well we can be pretty sure that the carousel redo will happen in 2016 or later as 2015 sounds like it will be waterpark, waterpark, waterpark.
Don't be so sure. It isn't out of the question for the redo of the carousel to get done while the water park goes up. It's more of a general improvement than anything else. It's not really a marketable project. Nice little side story, but nothing headlining,.
If anyone expects or was expecting a monster 7 inversion, 4100ft+ invert at VF, they're delusional. A B&M invert that's give or take 3100ft long with four, maybe five inversions.... Totally doable.
Valleyfairfanatic, The GM CALLED on a SATURDAY? Impressive. Mr. Frazier is getting more and more personable with each page of this discussion! Speaking of that, I forgot to mention Dave Frazier said I could name the Intamin giga coming in 2020 if I wanted to.... Great guy! LOL

Yeah, I might be, I remember there being a picnic place behind high roller back in 2006, I think I remember him saying its going to be by the camp weikilou area, but I'm not sure honestly. We'll just have to wait and see

I was right. Go to the Valleyfair Facebook page, and enjoy reading all of the whining complaints about today: https://www.facebook.com/valleyfair
There are people complaining when it wasn't even valley fair's fault, they are being completely irrational and the comments smell of poor planning. Its actually quite humorous to read the comments

I just received a call today from Mr Frazier and I was able to have a behind the scenes tour of the park and I was able to discuss the future of the park with him. He said he wants to remove some trees on the tree line by renegade so he can move some buildings a little back. He also said valleyfair will be receiving some permanent haunt buildings one of them will be by the picnic area. He said we won't be getting the huge invert like banshee because the park is focusing more on other things. What he did say is that the carousel might be getting a make over!
Did Mr. Frazier say what buildings? I'm thinking the maintenance building. I think they want to open up more midway space by opening up area's just north of Wheel of Fortune. As for getting a huge invervt like Banshee, the park is focusing on a waterpark makeover for next year. That's getting pretty obvious. 2016 is the year to focus on a new coaster. Of course Mr. Frazier can't reveal any plans and it would make sense for him to divert attention to other areas. Which picnic area was he talking about? The old one or the new one? Thanks for the update.
Hi, sorry for being a bit vague, he was talking about the maintenance building and a lot of the buildings by renegade's lift, and he was talking about the picnic area behind high roller. It was really cool to see the maintenance building, over all I had a really awesome time on the tour

I actually heard from an employee that there is a water park expansion coming to valleyfair in 2015 (stating the obvious) but I asked him what will be in the expansion and he just said "I think the slides are coming from wild water west". This is an expansion I'm looking forward to!

I saw these photos on the Valleyfairzone Twitter page. It appears that there are orange marks in several areas close to Soak City, including near a nearby building, near the former Hydroblaster spot, and in Excalibur's queue. At this point, I think the park is just screaming "2015 Soak City Expansion". If they put a mark right near one of those buildings, perhaps a waterslide's top will be built over the park midways. I'd rather have Excalibur's land used for a new coaster if ends up getting removed, but whatever happens happens. If the waterpark expansion ends up stretching out to all these points, then we could be looking at a truly new waterpark next year.
It almost looks like the people who spray painted those were trying to be secretive when they sprayed those marks, they look very tiny
-
Its hard to say, I think excalibur will be destroyed before high roller is, considering the removal of excalibur drinks, and because high roller just got a lot of track work and new seat belts. I think we'll be seeing high roller for a while

I loved the route 76 lights, I think when fall comes and valleyfair fires up the fog machines it will look great in the fog. I noticed when i visited valleyfair a few weeks ago they still had the front of zombie high up, why is that? Here is what i mean, this is a picture of it last fall but the front is still set up even to this day(minus the "spray painted" lettering of zombie"

I wouldn't mind seeing a "looping" water slide going to valleyfair, or one of those drop slides, that would actually make me visit soak city.
-
For me I wouldn't mind hydroblaster leaving all together, or coming back next year, I really have no preference weather it comes back or not
-
^ I think it might be a while until valleyfair demolishes Excalibur, the destruction of the themed drink stand is definitely ominous but not hard evidence that they will tear down excalibur. Excalibur still gets decent ridership but not as much as other coasters in the park. However I do think Excalibur is the next ride on the chopping block, they might tear it down to build a new coaster, they might not, only time will tell!

I was there today and I was scoping out some places a coaster could go, I noticed on the edge of thunder canyon there is a strip of land that is cleared and is big enough to hold a decent sized invert, If you ever get the chance to look, its behind thunder canyon, and when I went on renegade I think I saw a fellow TPR member

It would be fantastic if Valleyfair got one of those, but I would like a coaster more, Valleyfair just got a flat ride/coaster (how ever you prefer it) So it will be awhile before we see another flat ride coming to valleyfair, but I think a zamperla air race would be a likey option to fill the past tilt a whirl lot

Glad to hear the improvements to Renegade and High Roller are paying off. Valleyfair is listening to our comments! I wouldn't worry too much about Northern Lights right now. With any new ride your bound to have bugs that need to be worked out. When you walk around the park you'll notice several "holes" Valleyfair is looking for ideas to fill these "holes". What does everyone think. This is a good opportunity to voice an idea. I chat with Mr. Frazier fairly often and I would be happy to pass on your ideas! I have a few of my own but I want to see what you all come up with. I'll be sure to let Mr. Frazier know who's idea it was!
It would be great if you passed my ideas on to Mr. Frazier, I really would like to see a zamperla air race go there!

I can't seem to find a way to contact them, do you know how i can contact valleyfair or Mr.frazier?

I think the empty lot where tilt a whirl was would be a great location for one of those zamperla air races or a giant huss frisbee (not sure if that would even fit in that lot)
I also think valleyfair should beef up renegade's theming, I see alot of potential to make this a really good themed roller coaster (Installing swinging saloon doors for the exit, putting up western decor, etc.) They should install a sound system on renegade so when you are going up the lift the speaker will be playing western sounds or music
(Gunshots, Horses galloping, etc.) and there is a song called renegade by styx and that would be funny if they played that there occasionally. A sound system on wild thing would be fitting, they could play songs that fit the coaster (Welcome to the jungle, Crazy train, etc.) Well thats my piece, sorry about the length of this post, I have a lot more ideas but for the sake of this post not being to long I'm going to cut my ideas off here. I might just end up contacting valleyfair or cedar fair with my ideas

If a log flume or a water coaster had a loop in it would it even matter if it is considered a coaster or not (crazy idea right!?)

I'm at Valleyfair right now, and just got off High Roller. I had one of my best rides in a long time on it, but I noticed that it now has individual seatbelts (it still has the buzz bars). Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't this strip High Roller of it's ACE Coaster Classic status?
My opinions on the other coasters:
-I had two really fun rides on Corkscrew. Not amazing, but really fun.
-Renegade is much smoother and no longer headache inducing. The back seat airtime was wicked today.
-Excalibur was pretty much the same as last year. A few bumpy moments, but nothing too bad.
-Wild Thing was a little sluggish, but there's plenty of time for it to improve this year.
-Haven't done Steel Venom yet. Will update once I have.
steel venom was butter smooth, the staff in the gift shop at the gate were a little lethargic but they did their job, Wild thing's first camel hump after the drop is insane, I forgot how much airtime wild thing has

I do agree, valleyfair really needs to do something about that graffiti. Its even worse in that tunnel under the station. I've also noticed some scratch marks on wild thing's trains
