I work at the park, I know why they stop it so often. Surprisingly ALOT of guests film on the ride, to the point of them having to stop the lift 7-8 times a day. People just never learn. If they actually used disciplinary action there wouldn't be as much filming, thus less down time. Most of the time they let them off with a warning and tell them to put their phone away, unfortunately I don't think that will fix the problem. Sure there is mechanical problems here and there, but mostly its because of guests breaking the rules

For all you haunt fans out there, there is an event going on for employees which allows us to go in the mazes before they open to the general public, I'll give a very in depth review of them around the 14th 15th. As for gary's hint I looked up what happened on april 18 2014, here is what I got. 16 sherpas were killed in an avalanche on mount everest. Could he be hinting that the coaster's name will be Avalanche? I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not but I recommend the name Avalanche to Mr.Frazier around late may. Speculations?

Judging by the environment that dino slaughter is in, I'm guessing there will be ALOT of ghillie suit people hiding in bushes and stuff, maybe a few monsters roaming the walk ways. For anyone who doesn't know what a ghillie suit is here is a picture. I know there is a couple of them in hellside but I'm assuming dinoslaughter would have more of them.

For anyone who cares, HAUNT INFO IS UP! This year sounds pretty amazing!!!
Where!?

Haunt 2014 Spoiler Alert.
Where did you find this!?!?!?!!?

It bugs me that we can't know but I do respect Gary's reasons for not telling, and plus, I like surprises! I haven't seen anything going on back there because I haven't gone on high roller in a couple of weeks. I'm sure they're starting to set up stuff. I noticed the games by mad mouse have closed and are constructing the bloodshed

The saying "April Showers bring may flowers" Might apply here. Maybe the 2016 attraction will have a storm themed name? Just a thought. Or garyman could be completely pulling out leg because april fools also takes place in april. (Thank you captain obvious)

took some video at the park today, here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IFlXoPqfFw&list=UUfp7PhbTFXBfSYJSAsBcAlQ

So, Garyman, when are you able to finally spill the beans on the exciting 2016 rumor that you've been sitting on?
Yes, Is there a time frame you can tell us or at least hint about it? The suspense is killing me!

I would absolutely love to see a new front entrance to the park with a new coaster incorporated into it. Just like Carowinds is getting in 2015.
I agree. A new entrance and coaster combo would be amazing.
I never thought CF would build something outside of CP that would surpass millennium force, and with fury325 doing that, I think the possibilities of VF getting something record setting in 2016 is a definite possibility.
Ive heard from many admissions associates there will be a supposed new entrance next year, not sure how reliable they are. But if any department were to know about it, it would be admissions. Hopefully wild thing will get b&m trains similar to what steel dragon 2000 got. Ive also heard some chatter of them moving the parking lot and putting something in there. My supervisor was speculating about the field near the valleyfair dorms, since they own them, they could put what ever they want there

I'll be working at the park tomorrow so I'll keep my eye out as well

Hey guys I was just thinking about cedar fair slating valleyfair for major expansion in the next couple years. We got Picnic point which can hold thousands of people and can produce 3000 meals an hour. Why would a small park need such a big dining patio? I think cedar fair is preparing valleyfair for some serious attendance, Valleyfair's future will be bright and I think the days of valleyfair being a small park are numbered.
That has been my thinking all along. Mr. Frazier was pretty proud of the new picnic point when he took me on a tour of it!
I had to work in picnic point for a shift and I got to go into the kitchens, Its pretty dang impressive! After I got to experience picnic point in action, i finally understood why they added it

Mainly Park Services (my job) I think looping star ship actually gets decent ridership. Since I'm there pretty much everyday I get to see a lot of things normal valleyfair goers don't see on a daily basis. I see full trains on the looping star ship a lot surprisingly, almost 7-10 full trains per week

I heard the subway and the subway dining patio will be demolished to make way for the expansion. Its pretty much guaranteed, so many employees have told me that

Hey guys I was working today and I noticed something interesting. There was a maze called carnevil a few years ago but zombie high replaced it. Today at work I started noticing props from Carnevil and the safety sign that would be by the entrance of it. Could carnevil be returning this year to haunt?

I can try, There is a small path for associates behind high roller but I've never used it. Ill have to see if park services can go back there because I know a lot of other departments can go back there. Unfortuneatly associates can't use phones, iPods, cameras etc. on the clock.
Here's a pic of the tent like haunt building
-
I got a chance to ride High Roller after my shift today to check up on the haunt building progress, I was shocked to see that it is more of a tent then a building
-
Update on the steel venom situation:I was at the park today and I heard the holding brake, Im pretty sure this stuff is just temporary, Ill ask one of the ride ops tomorrow before the park opens. I'll keep you updated
-
Nope completely true. I'm not sure if cedar fair has the same colors for trash can markers but the orangish lines that are around 5 inches long are for trash cans
-
Sorry to rain on anybody's parade but the orange spray paint markers aren't for expansion, they mark trashcans. How do I know this? I'm park services and I just found out today. That doesn't mean much though
-
I know there are a ton of those orange markers around the park but Im pretty sure those are just markers for garbage cans.
-
I did spot a red circle with an x through it between the dining patio and the old imax space. I wasn't able to get a pic because I can't use phones at work unless I'm on break

My prediction is that the announcement will happen this wednesday because its in the exact middle of the two dates we were supposedly given
