  1. Yay for costume pics. I didn't see most of the people you got pictures of. I'm a bit surprised considering the reduced capacity. The one slave Leia is SoloRoboto and he makes good props and costumes. His wife is KittQuinn. I love how stupid things like putting googly eyes on a standee turn into the Cult of Jon. It's adds to the magic of Dragon Con.
  2. No worries about not getting a picture. I thought people were just going to cosplay as Loki from the movies and the versions on the show. I wasn't really a fan of anything can be a Loki, but I'm happy people had fun with it. Hopefully it's not as common next year because we don't need to add Loki to the over done list with Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Deadpool. I got in line for the bunny hutch around 11:45 pm and only had to wait 30 mins to get in. There was about 20ft of people on the sidewalk and I was surprised how fast it moved. You didn't miss much though. The music was decent and the energy was low. Your DigiSuite seems like fun. I have to urge my friends to get their Hyatt suite up and running again. There's new blood in the group so hopefully the increased interest can make it happen.
  3. It was nice meeting you too. I'll definitely go with you to Vortex next year. I wanted to go on Wednesday, but plans got screwed up after my group checked in. A few people told me the spectrum party is fun so I'll try to make it to that. If I can get a cheap flight home then I can stay Monday and crash at another friend's room for the night. It would be fun to go to SFOG with you and I have a year to figure it out. I'm looking forward to the rest of your report.
  4. Awesome report. Kings Island is one of my favorite parks and I'm glad you had a good time.
  5. Looks like a cool place. My group can get pretty wild so the Peachtree location is up our alley.
  6. Good to know about the aquarium night. I've never been to SFOG and I hate that I'm always so close every year. My group arrives Wednesday morning so I'll try my best to go. My friends will probably be annoyed that I'm ditching them for coasters, but they will have to deal with it. One of my friends recently lived in Atlanta for 2 years and said Vortex is great. I only hear good things and it wouldn't hurt to eat one artery clogging burger.
  7. I got my 100 days to the con email too and I'm excited it's going to be an in person event again. It's going to be nice seeing my friends and making new ones. Maybe I'll get around to going to the aquarium and Vortex this year.
  8. I had to make a late decision to go to the park since most of my upcoming weekends filled up. I went Sunday and was excited even though I knew it was going to be a rough day. My reservation was for 1:00 pm and planned on riding Maxx Force first. It was down with mechanics in the station so I headed to Demon. I waited 20 minutes and the slower speed due to half filled trains was really noticeable after the loops. It crawled through the straight section and had some nice hang time in the corkscrews. I went to American Eagle next and waited an hour. It ran well and is still my second favorite coaster in the park. After that was Goliath and I expected a long wait and it was painful. Running half filled or less trains and slow dispatches made it a 2 hour wait. I had a good ride on my favorite coaster in the park. Maxx Force opened up while I was in line for Goliath so I headed there next. The line wasn't that long, but 4 or 5 breakdowns and running nearly empty trains made it over a 2 hour wait. It's fun and it looks like a crowd pleaser. I think I enjoyed the argument in line more that the cops needed to get involved in. I had a few minutes left before closing so I squeezed in a ride on Whizzer. Good classic family coaster. On the way out employees were giving ticket vouchers to everyone as a courtesy. Because of that I'm going back next Sunday with my sister. I got on all the coasters I prioritized so I call it a win. Hopefully I can get on a bit more next time since I won't be able to go back for a few months.
  9. Ideal: May - Cedar Point, Hersheypark June - Cedar Point, Michigan's Adventure August - Indiana Beach September - Dragon Con, Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, Dollywood October - Cedar Point, Kings Island Realistic: August - Indiana Beach September - Dragon Con, Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom, Dollywood October - Six Flags Great America, Cedar Point, Kings Island
  10. I've had to warm up to a few coasters before so it's definitely possible. I want to like it more so I'll see what happens. We have to deal with virus life every day and hear about it constantly. Last thing I want to do is talk about it. Plus it didn't affect my visit negatively.
  11. I don't dislike Orion and I do think it's fun. It's like Goliath at SFGAm. Better than a lot of coasters, but feels incomplete.
  12. I went to the park yesterday for my only visit of the year. I had a great time and the only coaster I didn't ride was Invertigo. I would have liked to, but I skipped the hour wait for a second ride on the Beast. I got to the park early to make sure I got on Orion before the line got long. I got 3 laps in before 11:30 and it slightly surpassed my expectations. It's fun, smooth, and re-rideable. I like the first drop and the wave turn like element, but the rest is forgettable. I'll probably ride Orion once during future visits and It feels weird to say that about a giga coaster. Diamondback outshines it and I much prefer Millennium Force, which is the only other giga I've been on. Like I said it's fun, so I don't want it to sound like I'm trashing it. All the coasters were running great and I was so happy that Racer got the much needed track work. I would have ridden it a few more times if the park was open longer. The last few years it was one and done. Mystic Timbers felt more out of control than usual and I wish I could have gotten a night ride. I saved my one night ride for the Beast and it was awesome as usual. It was weird seeing a big empty space where Vortex was. I know I'm in the minority, but I miss it. Vortex was one of my favorite coasters at KI. It will be interesting to see what happens with that space in the future. There's a lot of potential for something really cool. Side note, I'm also in the Skyline Chili sucks camp.

  14. I went to the park on Saturday with my sister and had a good time despite the heat and operations. My reservation was at 10am and got in the park around 10:30am. We walked to Steel Vengeance right away hoping to avoid a long wait. I didn't know boarding passes were required so I must have missed that info prior to going. Two employees were handing out boarding passes so I got two for 4pm-5 pm and my sister got two for 5pm-6pm. We got lucky getting two time frames that were back to back. Then we got 1pm-2pm for Maverick and 2pm-3pm for Millennium Force. Our first ride was Magnum and it ran great. I was surprised that the trims were on since the trains were half full. After Magnum we did some shopping and got lunch. We got to Maverick around 1:20pm and it was down. It opened around 2pm and we got off around 3:30pm. We missed our time for Millennium and were told we could still ride later. The Steel Vengeance rides were amazing and I still can't believe this monster exists. While in line for our second ride we talked with one of the ride ops cleaning the hand rails. He said Dragster wasn't down due to the wind, but for mechanical reasons. He added that it could be down for a while still. Obviously take that with a grain of salt, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's right. Next we went to Millennium to see if the boarding passes would be honored and they were. After that we rode Valravn and wanted to finish the day with Raptor. We got to Raptor around 7:30pm and the line was closed for capacity reasons. The ride op said all rides were closing early, but we decided to see if Gatekeeper was still allowing riders. We were able to ride and the line was open until a little after 8pm. It may have been a less than ideal day at the Point, but it is what it is. It's much better than not being able to go at all. I got on more rides than I thought I would at the start of the day so I'm pretty happy. Plus I got the last row or near the back on everything, but Gatekeeper. The employees put in a good effort and were cheerful as usual. Unless you're dying to get on some rides then I suggest waiting a few weeks to visit. Operations should be improved by then and hopefully a few more rides will be open.
  15. I guess it would have helped if I bothered to look at the schedule . I just assumed daily operations were longer since the park is in the south where it's warmer longer. My group always drives home on Monday so it looks like I'll have to plan a separate trip for the park.
