Today's Twitter Post from the park makes me think there will be a few more diversions ahead- "What are we announcing Thursday night? It depends on who you're talking to and what day of the week it is."

I'm in doubt of that page being real. Anyone can take a screenshot of a page and simply edit it. Besides, why would they use a pic of Gatekeeper's layout?
I saw the page myself yesterday, there were actually three different pages. They were up for darn near 40 minutes before being taken down (it was taken down as soon as it started being shared on another site). As for the layout photo, those were just "dummy photos". They're just fillers. It's what you use when you are constructing a website. Same with the text. They had a Renderings Tab, a Facts Tab etc...There was even a Take a Ride tab or something of that sort, but it reverted to a WindSeeker POV.
It's certainly a hoax. Why would they send out a comb for a ride called "The Bat"? Also, why would they re-use the name of a defunct coaster in the same park? Makes no sense to me.Don't know about the comb, but amusement and theme parks use old names sometimes. Look at what Coney Island is doing. Look at what Cedar Point has done. It's not entirely impossible.
This ride can't be the fastest wing rider roller coaster in the world because FURIUS BACO is still working at 85mph.Non-Launched. And I always say a Wing Rider and Wing Coaster are different anyway. In a sense, Wing Riders (built by Intamin) are essentially Accelerator Coasters with the seats on the side. A Wing Coaster is a B&M Model, is non-launched and has a traditional lift. Two entirely different models in my opinion. I do believe that one could say that is the "Fastest Wing Coaster" then because it isn't a "Wing Rider".
But for the sake of records and being more correct as to include the winged seats on Furius Baco, Cedar Point advertises GateKeeper as the Fastest Non-Launched Wing Coaster.

This certainly was a mistake as the page now goes to a 404 error. All other Cedar Fair parks redirect back to the main page. Seems like someone accidentally hit "Publish" instead of "Save."
Now it reverts back to the Social Media page.
But if you really want to go the 404 route. www.visitkingsisland.com/banshee also goes to a 404 Error page.
Who knows? haha

^That's just filler text and and filler images (known as dummy text and dummy images). It's what goes in to set up the design of a site and then you go back and modify it. The "latin" is lorem ipsum. It's just filler text that goes in text boxes when designing sites.
Either way, if this wasn't a "teaser" to throw people off, then this is the second year in a row at Cedar Fair that a page went up early when it wasn't supposed to.

Don't sweat it Robb, you have to have order somewhere or things just fall apart. Besides, you're in charge. We all have low tolerance for stupid people but sadly we still face a lot of them in life. At any rate, you have him a chance and the next step was the necessary thing to do. Without even seeing the IP Address I could say it was probably the same poster. Why would someone without posting here previously just join and their first post defends someone just banned? Either it's the same person or they know the person. Oh well.
Can't wait for more YOLO updates. That loop is going to help dominate the skyline. Will love seeing it go up.

^How long will it be before you make it back to the park after this year?
Seeing as it will be August, the park will be packed (not as much as if it were a weekend, but still packed). Your best chance at getting onto as many majors in one day as possible, I'd recommend getting Fast Lane or Fast Lane PLUS. Fast Lane PLUS includes GateKeeper & Top Thrill Dragster. GateKeeper is part of Early Entry (which you will get for staying at Camper Village), Top Thrill Dragster is not. I'd say maybe purchase a regular Fast Lane and ride GateKeeper during Early Entry and then ride the major rides/rollercoasters as you come across them? (remember, not all of them have Fast Lane so ride them as deemed fit per posted wait times). If you have regular Fast Lane, then Dragster will be your longest wait of the day, but you should be able to squeeze it in.
Remember, this is all of estimates, who knows what GateKeeper will do with the other lines in the park. I can't give you a definitive "strategy" or anything like that because it is an entire realm of unknown with a large and high capacity coaster like that opening up near the front of the park.
Enjoy your trip though and have fun!

What the heck did I just see? Haha
That is one interesting attraction. Glad you reached the bone and not the poop. The perfect exit would've been an air blast out via a fart. We need some stuff like this in the states.
Seems like you guys had a blast inside Alicia. I'm now off to have some salad.

I'll have two that I'll talk about, but Cheetah Hunt actually takes the cake for longest/slowest.
It was the day after the ride debuted. I was at Busch Gardens the day before the ride opened and I decided I'd ride it the day after. It was about 3 hours before park closing and my friend and I decided to get in line for the coaster. At the time, the wait sign was reading around a two hour wait. I decided we'd be fine and it was worth the wait to try out the new coaster. Well, I should've noticed when we got in line that a train hadn't run for awhile, hence the reason the long wait was posted. Once they fixed all the technical stuff, the ride began running again. However, about 30 minutes later, after the ride was moving great, it broke down again. It was down for awhile before it came back up. Later, it went down again. By this time, everyone in line was getting impatient, largely in part to the fact that you could see lightning on the horizon and everyone wanted to get their rides it. A little before 9, we were able to board the ride and ride it. All in all, it was around a 3 hour wait.
Mantis also holds a spot for longest/slowest line. We got in the line knowing it would be a little on the long side and that loading and unloading stand-ups takes forever. However, as the line went on, we noticed that they were only running one train (they were sending a second one out, but it was completely empty). It was one hot day too. But after waiting in line for about an hour and thinking about leaving the line, we decided we had waited this long, we have to keep going. Eventually they started running the other train too, so the line picked up. All in all, about a two hour wait.

^I think the ProSlide Tornado Wave and White Water West's Boomerangos are different products that rely heavily on the concept of a half-pipe.
Boomerangos seem to have the half-pipe as the "grand finale/main attraction". The free-falling half-pipe is at the very end of the ride right before, as White Water West's website states "A reversed free-fall accelerates riders over a 6 ft high transition hump, and then into a splashdown pool". So the "boomerang" is practically the end of the ride. I have yet to see one where it isn't so
Tornado Wave uses the half-pipe concept, but they can be placed many places. Look at some of the photos on ProSlide's website. You can be in an enclosed chute, once you pop out into the open, you go up one of the half-pipes and into an open chute (or back into an enclosed one). Therefore, there can be more than one half-pipe during the attraction. In addition, the half-pipes aren't necessarily located at the end of the ride.
As for AquaLoops, I have yet to try one. I hear they are quite intense. I guess one of these days I'll find a place to try one at. Go big or go home I guess.
-
^Yeah they are. I just counted it as one due to the low height requirement and because kids seem to want to ride it all the time. But yeah, the last few helixes are quite intense. The ride definitely packs a punch.

^In my post I didn't disagree that it is a clone. My point was this was going along with the complaining that it's a wild mouse coaster. The fact of the matter is, they were complaining that's what it is. Why is it an issue that a park that is over an hour away from another one can get a clone? Especially when their main markets are two separate cities. I think it's a perfect fit. That is exactly what I stated below that quote.
And yes, they are confused about the name.
Also, I found this while on Cedar Point's FB page-
you guys should make a bigger swing ride next year it should 500 feetCedar Point will soon become Swing Ride Capital of the World. The park will also have the tallest in the world and be the only park with two swing rides over 300 feet. I can see it now!

Here's my list. All of these rides have Height Requirements less than 48 inches so families can truly enjoy them together-
1. Iron Dragon (Cedar Point) (46-inch height requirement)-I feel it still gives a modest thrill for us thrill seekers (maybe not a big one, but I enjoy flying through the forest, over the lagoon and near TTD. It also provides a great thrill for the kids.
2. Zach's Zoomer (Michigan's Adventure) (40-inch height requirement to ride with adult. 46-inch to ride alone)-Classic woodie feel, gives a few pops (but mostly the classic woodie feel for us adults) of airtime and kids love it. It's an experience for a family.
3. Scorpion (Busch Gardens Tampa Bay) (42-inch height requirement)- I am over 200 lbs (not by much though) and I can fit in the seats, but they are small. This is a coaster that is the perfect first looper for kids (heck, it was my first back in the day). I still feel it packs quite the punch, but I feel it's great for families to ride together.
4. Any Mad Mouse/Wild Mouse coaster (All over the place) (usually 44 inch height requirement).
While it may not count, I think Disaster Transport (right after it was re-themed and up until the late 90s) wasn't a bad family coaster. Kids in coaster training could enjoy it with their families and the seats accommodated. After it began to deteriorate maybe not so much. But I feel it wasn't bad at first. Now Cedar Point has no dark ride (though rumors say soon they may)

The quote "Best Coaster in Mexico so far"
Glad you are all having fun. Thanks for the updates. I am really enjoying them.

Knott's Berry Farm posted a photo of "Coast Rider" construction on Facebook. The comments were the true spectacle to behold.
Just like test track at legoland..How dare a park that is more than an hour away from another park get a coaster just like the one at that park (yeah, I tried to make it confusing)
yay another kiddie ride! 6 flags here i come!LOL
Need bigger roller coasters like they have six flags MM .Where are you going to stick all these big coasters in at Knott's buddy? Knott's has more flats and family attractions. I'm not dissing SFMM, but all they really have to draw on is coasters. Too many coasters at Knott's would truly ruin the park
Should've removed bigfoot rapids instead... or even boomerang. You mean rides that didn't have horrible wait/loading/unloading times? Yeah, let's really screw with the capacity of the park.
So, while the above were more opinion based I guess, here are the real kickers. The first one was the original comment and the second one was a response to it.
It's kinda like Windjammer surf racersthat's what I thought. At first, I thought I was looking at old construction picks from that old (and lame) ride. Not only have they just insulted Mack Rides....but they obviously don't see this is ORANGE track and all the wild mouse turns at the top. There's one track, not two. Sheesh, how does it even come across looking like Windjammer?
This isn't really GP because it is an obvious troll, but I decided it'd be fun to share. I have no comments (apart from some making fun) for these so I just quoted all of them. They're from Cedar Point's Official Magnum XL-200 POV Video. They are all from the same person. Be ready to laugh at the butchering of grammar, spelling and intelligence as well. Behold internet troll-
dud my dad is ownere of cedar point and it gettin ture nown for a waterpark expansionthere tearin it downe as we speak (or watch) bot at lest ceadr point gave us one last monted pov (fyi pov stands for prespective of view)my dad is owner of cedar point and is tearing it down himself
^Yeah, he said dump. I don't get what he was trying to say here eitheri can tell that youre f*****g stupid, if i were trolling and said my dad is owner of cedar point (which he is in real life btw) then it does not infer in any way that he works there but does not own it, f*****g dumpas*
^His response when asked about his sourcesmy dads owner of cedar farehavent we meaet before? and my dad owns cider fairTrolls...making people lose faith in humanity one day at a time.

I can honestly not say what my first coaster for 2013 will be. It will be one in Florida but I can't say for sure. We'll go with Montu, Gwazi or Cheetah Hunt for now.
-
^Or they're teasing a new Twister attraction or an upgrade to the present one?
In all seriousness, glad that everyone appears to be OK. I heard the area was rocked pretty hard. I called family in the area and they are all good. I know the TICO Airshow was going on this weekend in Titusville and I hear that, although there is damage, everyone is OK.

Thanks for the post Ken.
I kind of figured it wasn't a coaster. Wild Eagle was a great addition to the park and came off as a hit. Next year just seems like it was made for families. I still am excited to see what it is because a ride/attraction is exactly that to me. I'll look forward to experiencing it. Besides, I love parks that are well-rounded.
I was just going through the website today because I am planning a trip down there this summer. I was checking out the park map and noticed the "Coming in 2014" sign back on the Adventure Mountain site. I just figured that had been there for awhile and thought nothing of it. Guess not. Glad to see discussion going on but I do remember them saying they'd be doing something with the site anyway so I still didn't think much of it.
Looking forward to finding out what it is though....eventually, haha.

Hahahahaha. This ride has gone through so many names. Obviously the marketing department started it with YOLO in the video (which lead to it being known as YOLOcoaster here), but now all the other ones are becoming even more hilarious. Of course YOLOcoaster will always be the favorite (and I love that many of us will be out there in line and calling it that as the general public looks at us like we're crazy).
So we have
1-YOLOcoaster
2-Ampersand: The Ride
3-Breast Cancer Awareness: The Ride
...I'll make a friendly wager that we'll see at least three more names before the coaster opens. Any takers?
Wish I could make it out to the West Coast to ride Full Throttle this year, but that isn't going to happen. Oh well, maybe next year. Looks to be a good ride.

Hi all,
I'm Brett and I'm from Michigan. My home park is Michigan's Adventure though sometimes I say Cedar Point is as well (I'm not far from either). I've been an enthusiast for many years now and I have no clue why I never joined Theme Park Review. At any rate, I post on many other sites in my free-time as well, though my name varies from site-to-site.
I am very into the business side of park operations. I enjoy everything that makes the park run. Business just interests me. If it weren't for business, parks wouldn't be operating as they are today (I know, everyone knows this). I am also interested in park planning and what thoughts go into planning for the future (once again, related to business). This just makes visiting parks all the more fun for me. I'm one to respect parks wishes, if something is leaked (say a future design plan), I do not "spread it" though if someone else posts, I may engage in some sort of conversation. I do engage in rumor talk because it is fun to speculate but I do not want to infringe on anything the park is doing. I just want to be able to respectable to them because they are running a business.
At any rate, I'm glad to be here and I look forward to talking to many of you in the forums. Site is amazing Robb and I enjoy your videos thoroughly. I hope I can settle in here and become a regular. Thanks for having me.

7 Inversions would tie the record for most inversions on an invert. If it were 8 inversions, it'd take the cake not only for that, but as the coaster with the most inversions in North America. Top 195 feet and it's the tallest complete circuit Invert (Wicked Twister is taller). We'll find out soon enough.
