How about removing the rest of the Go-Kart Track! that would be a good start on the To Do List.

That's cool, the Skyline won't change too drastically then. How tall is CW Whip? -
Giving that mosaic a facelift would be great too

Maybe this is old news, but check out recently updated Google Satellite Shots of SFStL. Looks like Screamin' Eagle's first Queue Bldg is demolished and there appears to be some construction at the old Tidal Wave spot.
Anyone know more?

I'd love seeing the Park getting sold off to local investors. Maybe I'd been in the minority here but I think the park would be better taken care of.
With SF, I think STL is sort of an afterthought. I am not on the 'Corporate Hates Us' bus but it's apparent STL do not get attention this park needs.

I am honestly excited to see what happens are our park. Lots of places to work with now.
Any ideas what the new concrete pad is for at the old Moon Car track?

Like I said earlier...
in a word, simply put - Corporate does not hate our park, but it may look that way if you are a expecting a coaster every 3 years.

My guess is Six Flags Corp believes SFSTL has everything it needs - 9 coasters and a good selection of Flats. Corporate is not neglecting the park, it keeps things updated and running fine.
What Corp neglects is the few Dozen Local Coaster Enthusiasts who wish SFSTL was King's Island. I am one of those folks so I feel your pain... but fortunately for us, KI isn't too far away.

Exciting to hear construction is finally getting under way. Great news about the Eagle's queue as well.
Hopefully soon they will be building and installing, rather than demolishing and removing (as we have seen enough of that in the last few years).
-
They need to add a double helix at the end, that would be awesome!

In the meantime Soda is free at Holiday World.
Six Flags is really pushing the limits here...

$14 for a turkey leg these days? $8 for a soda?
Are these prices real or an exaggeration?

Damn, hope you are okay Zack. Sorry to hear that

The Southern and Western 'burbs are fine ... along with all of St Charles County and Metro Illinois.
There is a big audience out there for Six Flags StL if they want it, especially if you include Memphis.

You know I never considered the prospect that some of those early attractions would be possible to bring back in some capacity during the 50th anniversary celebration.
Who here remembers Tilt-more Hotel? or another walk-through attraction, the Haunted House down where Tidal Wave used to be?

Don't be diss'ing the Mule Go Round! Still hoping that will come back one these years, Yes... the 300 Foot Version!

Everyday I check this forum, and I see numerous people of different walks of life all coming together to share and talk about this park. A park that is “bottom” of the chain. Yet, we have one of the most populated forums on this site.
If anything, our continuous nitpicking and wishing of what could be, just shows how dedicated we are as a fan base. Always thinking and wondering, ever curious.
I hope we can all take a step back and acknowledge that even though the park may not be perfect, it brings us a sense of community and family that not much else can. I am always motivated about the future of this park by the stories and memories these acres have brought.
I wish you all a happy 50th anniversary.
The same discussions have been going more than a decade, since SixFlagsStL.net (or whatever that url was) ... in a nutshell, Six Flags will fix the Infrastructure then we will finally get a new massive coaster. We need more attendance before anything worthwhile comes our way... yada yada. Yes we are a hopeful bunch.

As far as Eagle and the double up; I was 8 when Eagle opened (yes you young uns' I was born in the 60's) so I definitely rode it with the double up. However, being just a kid, not at all knowledgeable about coasters and their elements I really have no memory of that specific element, although I definitely remember the original trains (my Dad used to slide over and squish me) and I do remember the banking being added to the turns; but just don't remember the double up or realizing it had been removed.
You got me by one year ... I was 9 in '76. I rode it opening year with my Siblings. I almost chickened out when we got to the station and I looked at the height of lift hill. My sister said 'No way!' and forced me on. Glad she did

I did a quick scan on youtube and found this Video ... the dbl up is right after the 180 degree Turnaround into the Turn back to the station.

That section is pretty deep in the woods, doubt anyone could of taken a picture of it.

I am old enough to remember that Double Up on the last turn before the station. It was awesome and is sorely missed.
You could hear the train wheels momentarily leave the track and slam back down.

My guess is a ZacSpin or Sky Rocket (Tigris) or Raptor type of coaster in Tidal Wave's old spot.
