Maybe insurance costs decreased with the taller requirements. ??

I always thought the ride would be better suited in HH anyway. It never fit in its current location. It was just crowbar'd in without any thought of theming to the area., which is a problem to the entire park I suppose.

I read Tsunami Soaker will be SBNO all year, not that it had a decent history of being open anyway.

^^^ Because it costs money. They should just turn it into a Standup.

With the pending closures/sale of the smaller parks (or whatever type of park getting the axe), I would imagine we would inherit a flat ride or two, maybe a coaster.
Six Flags America ... maybe they will bring back Iron Wolf back to the Midwest.
-
I just hope they install this new Titan track in all the necessary places, not cheap out in other words.
There are plenty of 'rough' spots which would benefit from this track.
I am happy they choose to do this, looking forward to the final results.

the massive sign on the mid hill
That is now the Entrance Sign on the Queue Pavilion, right?

Thank you. You're wrong, though. Boss 4 Lyfe.
'For Life' ... that's the irony here. The older you get, the worse that coaster becomes.

I always hated the Mid-Course Brake on the Boss... happens way too soon in the circuit. First and Third Drop are great fun, otherwise it is sorta Meh. The Double Helix removal also disappointing. I rather ride SE or Americal Thunder.

I'd like to see The Boss's Trains in the boneyard. That would make me happy.

To be honest I haven't ridden it in about 8 years and I'm not motivated to ever do so again. While I can handle roughness, because of how short I am the restraints hit literally right on my ears, which is just particularly painful. Every time I've walked by it's almost always just a walk on or station wait. I have no idea what maintenance is like for it but with the rate that the new corp is cutting older, unpopular coasters I wonder if this will be on the chopping block soon. I for one would be fine with that if it got us something new.
The Ninja's shelf-life ran out 20 years ago in my opinion. Probably considered an excellent coaster in the 80s, now just a relic of a first generation looper.

In a nutshell... I think most of us believe SFSTL can be an excellent park with just handful of additions. Granted, they are not cheap additions... but just a few choice rides could elevate our park to a new pedigree. The potential is there, and we want it to happen so bad. At summer's end we get hopeful for that Big Announcement but alas end up with disappointment. Then we have to vent it out somehow, thanks to forums like this one.

I agree. Outwardly there doesn't appear to be any reason for it to exist anymore - I think there's far more potential in trying to come up with kid-focused family dining experience and reconfiguring the area in the process. Or even just adding more space for another ride or two for kids.
Definitely - lots of potential with that footprint.

I hope there are plans in the near future to demolish that Go Fresh Restaurant, between the Theater and the Kiddo's Land. What an eyesore, worse than the Carousel. Just on my mind, needed to vent it out.

PS: Green Lantern is being very roughly sliced up during removal. It will absolutely not be relocated considering how they’re handling it.
I have seen the photos, looks like they are using the Jaws of Life to bring it down.

It was later updated to include the removal of their drop ride leaving as well.
Ahh, got it. Maybe Kingda Ka is a goner then.

My take on SFGAd, I think they will modify Kingda Ka into some sorta TTD2-like creation. Since they didn't mention the Drop Ride portion of the ride getting 'retired', it makes sense to me.

Completely correct, they only listed here what has been confirmed with ride manufacturers and has funding already. There are things still in development at parks and not everything was announced. I know something not yet announced is coming to Six flags America, and I wouldn't doubt if we have something too. Our park does not have a track record of announcing things years ahead, neither does Six flags or Cedar Fair as a whole. This announcement was unprecedented, and was posted to overshadow the negative press Six flags has been receiving regarding the possible park sell offs (closures), as well as the many unannounced ride removals across the chain including Kingda Ka.
In fact I believe we could see a couple ride removals ourselves.
-Tsunami Soaker: Remained SBNO for the 2024 season which included boarding up the rides exit. Its very expensive to operate, water is expensive. Usually water attractions make the expense worth due to their high popularity, ie: Thunder River, Log flume, however Tsunami Soaker when operating almost never sees high wait times, which proves the expense just isn't worth the while. Not to mention its high maintenance costs.-Fireball: Removals from across the chain. Cedar Fair has a bad relationship with the rides manufacturer, Larson, which is owned by RMC. The LED light package was also broken last time I went.
Both of which I could see being replaced with a flat ride in place.
I recently brought up that a reimagined Holiday in the Park could return. I would like to mention that while overshadowed by the news of possible park sell offs. They mentioned a return of days removed from Legacy Six Flags Parks in Q4, which is the aforementioned, Holiday in the Park. They will begin rolling them out and further announcements would be made down the line. Currently, I dont know if thats news of whether its coming back or not. But the fact they brought it up, looks promising. With all the ride removals from other Parks, SFSTL will have plenty to choose from to fill our vacant lots!

We've been saying that forever.
There was only one person who said "corporate hates our park." We're just still making fun of him.
Probably the same guy who was obsessed about our old Skyway and its removal 40 years ago.

Speaking of Ride Removals... I would like to see STL get new Bumper Cars, Drop Tower (old Excalibur spot), and over course a new (or new to us) Steel Coaster (Tidal Wave).
And while I am hoping, Titan Track for The Boss. I have lost all hope for a RMC Conversion, so Titan Track (or similar) would be great. And Rebuild the Double Helix!!!
-
Ahhh, back to the decades old "They (SFSTL) needs to earn it first vs If they build it, they will come" argument.
For the record I am in the "If they build it, They will come" camp. This is the very reason why I drive to Cincinnati and Sundusky, Ohio.

Probably not enough to matter in the long run.
SF now knows exactly how much money they can save by not operating the ride after dragster has been down for so long. The first year of it being SBNO probably saved them a ton of money with no loss at the gate. CP took the gamble and lost in the short term. They may not be willing to do it. If they close Ka, it will make TTD even more unique again.
SFGadv has received plenty over the years to offset these a rough ride and a maintenance headache. I wouldn't feel sorry for any of the guests. Taking something like Fury away from CW would be a much greater loss.
I'm sure there will be a replacement. Parks like MM, KI, CP, AFGAdv always come out smelling like roses.
Ka is coming to SFSTL, I can feel it in my gut!
Instead of your typical Trains however, they will use the Horses from our SBNO Carousel. This explains why it hasn't opened in the last 5 years, this was on the Books.

I experienced the exact opposite ride Kim. It lumbered along from the first drop to the 90 degree turn, from there it felt like the train had square wheels.
I have ridden SE easily over a 100 x's, my first ride was opening year 1976! (showing my age here). Yesterday's ride was the worst experience yet.
And I agree about the painting, it looks old and sad. Ugh.
I 100% agree with you about the Boss.... the First Drop is amazing thanks to the new Titan Track. Titan Track is needed for every Valley in the layout, hope that will happen soon.
