  1. The park truly seems to make the most out of any of its new attractions.

Not knocking the SFSTL crew and maintenance, but the thing is Down more that it is Up - SBNO.

Maybe they should have stuck with the old Tech.

You would be assuming that the new lift system has caused most of the down time (and slightly implying that the stunt Boomerang pulled last year was related to the lift system), which would be incorrect.

Yes I was... it just seemed the new lift system was the likely cause.

  2.

Back around 2009, 2010, 2011, there was a BIG plan. Starting with metal detection getting a permanent pavilion type structure. Then a new building to house season pass processing with its own entrance to the park, then upgraded Guest Relations, Ticket Booths and Front Gate. They also would have repaved all asphalt and concrete from Metal Detection all the way up through the front mall... if memory serves correct, i think a small sliver of catering grove would have needed a little modification to accommodate for the season pass processing building. The only thing I can't remember was if the large fountain by metal detection was to stay, go, or get modified. I know there was serious talk about it at that time, I'm just not sure if it even ever made it on blue prints. The idea has floated around some more in recent years, but again, not quite sure how deep into thought it has gone

Great plans - awesome to see it happen some time, some year, some century

  3. I think they could remove the Ninja and put a 4D Freespin there. And the Ninja takes up enough space that they could also probably put a flat ride in there, maybe a Tilt-A-Whirl and call it Harley Quinn's Spinsanity. And I'd love for them to remove the Joker Inc. and put a Zamperla Giant Discovery and name it Riddler's Revenge.

The Ninja is not going anywhere, it is SFSTL's VR coaster.

What's with all this Tilt-a-Whirl talk?

  4. It was late 70's ... the Sky Chuter and the Swings were right next it in those days.

Since the late 70's I believe. I'm pretty sure 1981 was the last time I rode it, I was 13 and I think I might have set a world record for the most barf to come out of a 5'1'' body. Ever.

How about Tom's Twister... that was a Barf machine more so than the Fling

Ahh, yes, Tom's Twister. Even worse because the barf obeyed centrifugal force and adhered to the walls and everyone else!

Yep, It took a lot of bravery and courage to step onto TT

  5. The Ninja isn't going anywhere, it's SFSTL's VR coaster

They could put me in a spinning office chair and strap a phone to my face and it would be more enjoyable than Ninja with VR. I'm all for them scrapping it, and replacing it with grass and flowers. Hell, they can replace it with a concrete slab with picnic tables and it'd be an improvement.

I hear ya and feel the same way but the Ninja now has staying power due to the VR trend. That's my take on it anyway

  6. Speaking of Justice League. . . Why do I feel like the one at SFOT is far superior to the one at SFStL?

We LOVED the one at SFOT, and it easily places in our top 10 dark rides. . . But after riding the one in St. Louis, we got off of the ride thinking. . . "Yeah, that kind of sucked." I mean, it's not a bad ride, but it sure isn't nearly as good as the one in Dallas.

I have ridden both and thought they were very similar, not much difference at all

  7. Remember, the Atari 2600 was the emerging leading edge home tech when the Eagle opened

No it wasn't. The Atari 2600 was released September 11, 1977. Screamin' Eagle opened April 10, 1976.

Yes, I will stand up for facts. Yes, you could have Googled that like I did and could have presented correct facts to prop up your straw man argument. Yes, it's a straw man argument because whether people used microwave ovens and 8-track casettes has nothing whatsoever to do with the subject at hand.

Ask any normal people (or "GP" if that makes you feel better about yourself) to name a coaster at SFStL, and the two answers you'll get most often are Screamin' Eagle and Batman. That's what makes something a signature item. Not the best, most popular, whatever. It's the thing they're known for. The Big Mac is McDonald's signature item. It's what they're known for.

There. End of stupid discussion. Let's get back to complaining about Ninja and whining about Georgia taking our hyper coaster.

Your fact checking skills are better than mine, you win. I will know better next time when I describe the age of SFSTL's 41 year old woodie.
