  1. Is there a coaster that you just felt you were in love with it as soon as you see it? Even a particular part of that coaster? I know this is kind of weird but I can't be the only one to have a coaster crush. (And I know saying you want to ride your crush is even weirder) Mine are New Texas Giant and Cheetah Hunt. I just feel like watching the off-ride videos are much better than on-ride videos. They just look so graceful. I just think the shape of New Texas Giant's turn into the MCBR and the drop off the MCBR are the best looking part of the ride, look at the last car when the train goes off the MCBR Cheetah Hunt, definitely the tower.
  2. If I reach out, I swear I can touch almost every traditionally constructed wooden coaster's handrail.
  3. Great! Another teal coaster! I guess teal is the new orange.
  4. ... You just didn't sleep period, fueled on cafine, and pure adrenaline. Bonus, you were on the east side of North America, therefore, had to stay up till 5:00am. Double bonus, you did it, even though you had to get up for 7:00am the next morning. Guess who's guilty of all this? I would totally do that if I'm in US. But here it was 5:00 PM, perfect time after a whole day of school If you saw the Top Gun Stall and the 200 degrees Stall happening on RMC coasters this year way before the announcement.
  5. And year by year, you brain became a layout database.
  6. It's already mentioned here, a few times
  7. Windseekers feel so protected, huge mechanical arm+huge lap bar+plastic seats... Sky Screamers feel "dangerous" thus they are not just open air observation towers. A few chains+metal bar+tiny seat belt+Much more open seats plus higher speed definitely win. But Mondial wins on capacity issue.
  8. That would make sense for inverted coasters (like the aforementioned GIBS), but why would a normal sitdown ride (like Bizarro) need it? For coasters that have neck choppers and supports that are close to the track on the sides, this could be a problem. Mack had a huge part of Battle of Bluefire's queue rebuilt because the wall is 2 cm closer to the track than planned. Imagine a super tall rider put his/her arms to the sides, there could be some injury and lawsuit. And I think Americans love to sue parks. So this is why the parks(especially American parks ) set the maximum height. I remember on a Kingda Ka documentary, the handrail on the Top Hat is super close to the clearance envelope. Plus, as mentioned, launch coasters can cause neck injury. Imagine if Dodonpa doesn't have headrests, we can pick up heads next to the launch track! That would be how it's like for the super tall riders.
  9. Maybe it is because of the clearance envelop?

  11. Coaster: an Euro Fighter or Hyper-GTX Flat ride: Blue Fall
  12. Nagashima Spaland's B&M flyer. God...five B&M for 2015... Where are the Intamins?
  13. I would rather see Arrow coasters get Ride Centerline treatment than B&M treatment. I think Arrow+Ride Centerline=ultimate scream machine; Arrow+B&M=giant Family coaster.
  14. Reminds me of my past trip to Silver Dollar City. A kind old man thought it would be nice to stand right behind me and cool me down by coughing right on the back of my neck. Sweaty kids running around and... Just a little bit of contact...
  15. Wood: Outlaw Run (No.1 overall) Cyclops Viper Screamin' Eagle American Thunder American Eagle Judge Roy Scream Blue Streak Boss Fireball Steel: Maverick Mega-Lite Powder Keg Top Thrill Dragster Magnum XL-200 Poltergeist Mr.Freeze Reverse Blast (both) Steel Eel Titan Superman: Krypton Coaster
  16. That wheel design can seriously give some Intamin Gen1 free fall level of floater airtime
  17. Anton Schwarzkopf Werner Stengel Alan Schilke Ron Toomer These four people's success are connected IMO. I think most of the good B&M's have a lot to do with Werner Stengel so...
  18. Seems like an upgrade of this Edit: Sorry, didn't see what's posted on Mack's new announcement thread.
  19. Top Gun stall is like a Zero G Roll with extending inverted time, Zero G Stall twists back in opposite direction like its a 180 degrees outside banked turn.
  20. I've gotta admit, I thought the same thing when I watched the video. Certainly they must have considered this as a potential outcome and received clearance well before committing to the project. Use the station like Maverick's, problem solved.
