^ You know as well as any of us do. It's all wait-and-see at this point.

Pretty cool photos! Glad you enjoyed it!

But having two rides themed to Batman outside of the Gotham City area just seems off to me tbh.
Great Adventure has Superman and Green Lantern in Boardwalk, Bizarro in the Western section, and Joker and Harley Quinn along the Waterfront. Six Flags doesn't care.

^ Oh yea, I don't disagree - I'd always recommend going to Camp Aventura. It is, in fact, "cool". I always get off, just saying you could stay if you want to (but seriously, don't).
-
^ Any time I've been on it they've always given us the option of remaining on the truck instead of departing, so it's more likely that if you do it earlier in the morning, you could most likely wait on the truck instead if you choose to.
-
It usually lasts somewhere around 45 minutes, give or take a few depending on how fast the respective driver chooses to drive. Add time for however long you wish to spend at Camp Aventura at the midway point.

^ Yep, opens with the park, line tends to be cut off at around dusk. Best practice is definitely to head there once the park opens in order to minimize the wait times. Plus, animals are likely to be the most active at that point anyway, before it gets too hot out.

Congratulations about Dollywood! Afterburn does have a couple big boy seats in the middle, but you're right, I don't think I've ever heard of a hyper/giga having an equivalent. That said, if you were able to fit on everything at Dollywood, you shouldn't have any issue with either Intimidator or Fury.

Those statues in the queue are pretty cool. Does anyone know if they also got the big "El Diablo" statue from Great Adventure, as well?

...but overall that punch, pizzazz, yahoo and how that the original movie had was missing here and at no point did I feel slack-jawed or buggy-eyed.
The only one of these movies that I've thoroughly enjoyed so far has been Jungle Book, and that's mostly due to Bill Murray's performance as Baloo. Since then, they all just fall into this "okay, but unnecessary" category where they either adhere way too closely to the original script and it just ends up being a weak imitation. I'm hoping Lion King ends up being different.

^ Cool, thanks for the input. Part of my trepidation stems from the fact that I had my gallbladder taken out earlier this year, so I can no longer digest fats as effectively. I've found some articles on modifications for us gallbladderless folk, and that's helped reassure things. I really want to give this a shot, but my digestive issues have, uh... shown... in the last couple days of trying it out, so I'm gonna have to really take these modifications seriously.

Is there anyone here who partakes in the keto diet? I'm looking for some feedback from people who've given it the college try. I think it might be something I'd have a lot of success with - my cravings have always been centered around savory, fattier foods like meats, cheeses, etc, and lesser towards carbs and sweets (I don't really care for pasta, and though I like sweets, I can do without).
I've been dabbling with a very low-carb, high-fat diet for the last couple of days, but not completely "keto" (the leftovers I had from a few days ago, ground turkey w/ vegetables, had some carrots in it). I've been doing some research, but I'm trying to fight my tendency of getting overwhelmed with too much information and backing out from intimidation.

Awesome as always!
So we had a thread in the Great Adv FB group about these weird light/reflector things in Nitro's queue. Some people said they were for spotlights when the ride opened and some said they were used to determine how long the queue was... I'm not sure we ever got a definitive answer. These were little strobe lights used back when the ride first opened. Harry weighed in over at GAH.

Hmm--I think the only remaining one-rail Steeplechase coaster is at Blackpool, correct? I guess RMC's T-Rex coasters are the next generation of that concept.
But I do miss the Wacky Soapbox Racers at Knott's.
I LOVED the Steeplechase when we visited Blackpool last summer. Wish there were more of them around, especially stateside!

I was surprised to see Kennywood was trending on Twitter this morning and was curious to find out why. Needless to say, this is the most "Pittsburgh-est" reason I could think of.

Woah! At this rate, what, membership preview next Friday then?

Yep, it can close that early. It closed at 12:30PM on Sunday due to the weather.
I was actually joking about the noon thing. I thought I was being a little extreme, but apparently not!
To be fair, there were maybe fewer than 15 cars in the parking lot by that point (based on photos). I think it would've been wiser to just not open outright, but the park did that the previous weekend already, and, in the interest of not doing that on consecutive weekends, may have been a bit too optimistic that the weather would clear up.

If the forecast continues to look shaky come Friday, best thing you can do is follow the park on Twitter. They're pretty good about publishing any early closing times on there.

Is Philadelphia's downtown car friendly? I figured that taking public transit during my city day(s) would be preferable due to traffic and parking irritations.
It's not that bad, nowhere near the headache of driving in Manhattan. Make sure you don't block the box (keep the intersections clear) and you're all set.
The real headache is parking. Yes, there are lots generally all over, but parking in the city is in general super expensive. The safest bet for you is, if you find a parking lot with a really friendly rate, dump the car there and take public transit / car shares around.
Also, forgot to mention - as a big fan of U.S. history and civics, I personally LOVE the National Constitution Center on the other end of Independence Mall. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you end up visiting Independence Hall / the Liberty Bell.

Why did this park remove all the water rides???
Because they were old and not cost effective, a trend you'd see across the whole industry. Besides, they practically doubled the size of its water park only a couple of years ago.

This may be a bit sacrilegious, too, but roast pork sandwich > cheesesteak. If you really want to do the Philly experience, get the superior sandwich.
Looking at your list, I don't feel as if you've properly factored in travel time between your stops. For example, you want to to the Mummers Museum AND drive to Great Adventure in the same day, THEN drive the three hours to Knoebels? Are you only planning on doing a couple hours at Great Adventure and driving through the night, or driving out the next day and losing some time at Knoebels?
If you've factored the time already and are okay with the distances, fine, but want to make sure you're considering it. It's the Northeast - make sure you factor in traffic time as well, especially if you do any driving around rush hour.

The most important question no one has answered yet, though: how sexy is Cyborg's voice?
In all seriousness, looks like a fun addition.
