  1. Well that's just a huge let down. Growing up (well at a very young age) Opryland was my home park and after... well the nearest theme park is like 6 hours.... Was really looking forward to the growth of this project, it would have worked out so well for this area of the state.
  2. So I wonder how intentional the "The Gatekeeper" page going live was? If the ride ends up being called that... ummm I highly doubt that... I would say accident, but as far as I can see the most attention for any 2013 attraction has gone to Outlaw Run, anyway point being seems like they were trying to create some buzz on another big reveal.
  3. ^^ I have that same feeling, from the looks of it this thing flys from drop to finish. And it's not a very meaty wooden structure for the most part...
  4. ^^I'm thinking they must have tested it somehow also. Anywho I read on SDCFANS that the final element may already be close to completion for some showing off tomorrow at the big reveil. I'm ready to see this thing! Is it streaming live and/or will I be able to find it online later tomorrow?
  5. Idk know about you guys but I think this may be the best of the marketing teases this year.
  6. Can someone explain why they are adding the giant concrete pads? Is the soil not strong enough to hold footers or is there some state regulation? I don't know that I have ever seen huge concrete pads like that under a coaster.
  7. Wild Eagle is the main attraction in Wilderness Pass, but it also is coherent with the theme of Wilderness Pass. Outlaw Run is themed to a stagecoach company, if I'm correct. Does that or will that be coherent with Wilson's Farm? Any way who is excited to see how that last element is tracked out? I bet it will have some awesome head choppers?
  8. ^I'm not sure how similar it is to Dollywood, but was assuming fairly similar. I know in Dollywood, a named/themed area usually has more to it than just one ride/attraction so I was curious if it would eventually spawn off some more attractions with the same theme.
  9. So I guess the question now is, will Outlaw Run be part of Wilson's farm or will it create a new section? I'm guessing Hi-Lo Silo is like Lumberjack Lifts at Dollywood?
  10. Well, I know Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood was quite easy to ignore before Timber Canyon and Wilderness Pass were added, unless like I said you were looking for it. I remember when Thunderhead was new there was never a line for TT, I just assumed it was because of it's seclusion from the rest of the park. Also Cheetah at Wild Adventures is quite easy to miss, if you aren't looking for it. That's exactly what I was thinking, except I was more so thinking of the forced walk through gift shop dedicated to Wild Eagle.
  11. Oh, ok. Adding vendors to the area is a must seeing as outlaw run will probably have its own gift shop or at least a pretty big stand for the pictures and merchandise. I do have one question though with it being back behind the giant swing and powder keg do you think it will get passed up a lot? I mean to me it looks like it will be one of those easy to miss rides, if you aren't looking for it that is.
  12. Thanks for posting the link, however I had already seen them... I've read over on SDCFANS that this project is about in the 10 million range which is reasonably cheap (I would think).... And that we should still be excited for the announcement because there is more to it than what has been leaked. Do you guys think they are doing extensive theming with this or that they may be adding another attraction as well. Normally I wouldn't think so, but it's the first of August this coaster has flown up, construction will be complete in a few months they have plenty of time to start another project and finish it before next season. Thoughts?
  13. Probably tallest fastest and longest.... By a few feet and mph.
  14. ^^ but people love to read too far into things. I'm just excited to see what they are offering, it will be interesting to see what records they break... Or gimmicks to pull people in.
  15. Will cedar point use theming elements? Or just the coaster like wild eagle.
  16. Here's my thoughts on the wing riders so far... 3 of them have great theming so how much of their price is from theming? While with wild eagle the Excavation done with the project was pretty extensive, so their is another huge expense with a wing rider. So I mean the cost of the coaster itself probably isn't as much as we are estimating. I'm sure they are expensive, but less than what price tag we see.
  17. Eh, I guess the budget for that would be... Far beyond reality. But maybe its a wing rider and a junior wing rider? We haven't seen one of those yet?
  18. ^^ if you have a chance to go to dollywood, go it's worth the admission price by all means. All the coasters are awesome.
  19. You can get tickets at a 50% discount for SDC, White Water and Stone Mountain Park. Thanks, thats what I was hoping next year will be my first SDC trip!
  20. Does anyone know if dollywoods season passes work for other HFE parks? Like SDC?
  21. TT is too short, it's an amazing coaster and it's so smooth that when it ends it leaves thinking "that was it?" It's still great though. My only disappointment is that after the first drop it really has no more height, overall this coaster is looking amazing.
  22. just like Xcelerator! Nah, that's too much for dollywood in my opinion. I'm thinking something on a shorter scale with both indoor and outdoor sections. Maybe with inboard audio, definitely with heavy theming something that could bring some excitement over to that area of the park!
  23. So I'm sure we are far off from another coaster at Dollywood but an idea has popped into my head. What do you guys think of a verbolten style coaster in the 50's area? Multiple launch cars with a rock and roll theme?
