Yeah I am anxiously waiting for the SFMM announcement for WCB, have plane tix and rental car pages pretty much waiting for the moment Forgive my total noob question here, but I've seen comments hoping for racing on TC. Does one ride go through both sides? That is the impression I had, but I guess I can't wrap my head around racing on a mobius coaster If each single ride of TC goes through both sides, and they do race, that means each ride would race twice?? If so, that's pretty awesome.

I never thought anything would top X2 for me (my #1 steel coaster), but TC or WC looks to be possible close contenders (for the first time ever)...! Yeah, I still have MForce holding onto my #1 spot! I've been waiting for someone to dethrone it and despite some close calls, none have. I think one of these RMCs may be the one to do it.

The last new Coaster in your Count
JJLehto replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The last new coaster I rode I was ... Kozmo's Kurves at Knoebels Hey, I'm it was actually pretty fun and had some crazy airtime pops on it! -
Those bannings were actually doing those members a favor, this is a website, and one dedicated to theme parks and roller coasters of all things! I can't think of much things more fun than that. If they can't just be chill and enjoy their hobby, some time away from TPR may do em well! Or at least they can rage on the internet elsewhere. sweet crispy jesus. IDK what that twisty double down thing is on the green track, but I love it. It doesn't look right or even safe, which makes me like it more

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Though to be fair, Rattler was one of the most reviled woodens out there! I just need one day of rides, then they can RMC it. If it rattles my bones loose and ruptures a few organs well hey, what have they done for me lately? -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
JJLehto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, all I can say is I'm stoked to finally ride Voyage, and I got a bit of a masochist in me...I kind of like being beat up on a wooden coaster Though I do think "traditional" woodens should probably be kept limited in size. Woodens, by the logical fact they are made from wood which moves and breathes and doesn't hold up like steel, seem naturally prone to become rougher, need tons of maintenance, and ultimately re tracking (and now getting topper track). So the super huge woodens like Voyage, guess it makes sense they will become pain machines! But hey, I still hear tons of love for it so I'm excited. As it was said, everyone's different. Also excited to try Raven and Legend, glad both are running well this year! -
Six Flags vs. Cedar Fair
JJLehto replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cedar Fair. I know they are, of course, a big chain and are corporate parks, but all the Cedar Fair parks I've been too: 1: Have all their rides opened 2: Are fully staffed Those alone put it ahead of my experiences with SF parks 3: They just seem better run 4: They have more interest in the customers, and even if they fail often (I dont think so) but it's still always been a far better experience that SF 5: Their parks seem to have a nicer "feel" to them. Oh and the CF parks seem to have most of their flats still and good diversity. I enjoy the rides AND my time at CF parks, opposed to SF where I go with the mindset of "Im paying to ride a few of their rides, then leave" So while they are big time parks with issues, I feel they are well worth the price and still feel good. The way I look at it, you give up some of the "nice feels" you get at Knoebels, HW, Busch Gardens and other themed/smaller parks but for that you get a huge amount of rides and stuff. While SF leave me with a bleh, corporate feel but lacking much of the good things CF has. Yeah, they are crowded and pricey and always getting pricier but look at what you get with CF! And I never leave thinking "they should level this park and move the good rides" as I do with SFgrAdv To be fair, Six Flags has been winning life thanks to their work with RMC. If CF ever gets on board with RMC they'd be the undisputed tops. And we all know some CF coasters that can use RMC (Mean Streak, Hurlers) -

Yeah, I may seriously just hit both in one day, and still get back home in less time a trip to Great Adventure would need -

That does look sick. To all who have been here, how is the park? Is it worth a trip given it's just 2 hours away, maybe do it and Lake Compounce on the same day? -

Nice report! Glad to hear it's smooth and forceful, seems like a sweet addition to the park. -
It was closed all day just because of wind, and I think they were hoping to open it up if the wind ever calmed down, but sadly it didn't the whole day! Both trains were off the transfer and parked in the station the whole day. Yeah, so at least it's not perma broken, though I see it's still pretty touch and go on a daily basis
-
Well it was just for the day, due to winds, right? If X2 is closed, again, after hauling my arse across the country I'll be miffed something fierce! I really just want one ride, I'm operating under the assumption it will thrash you around, and you should keep advil on hand for it, but I just need one ride to say I finally did it.

I knew it was too good to be true Well also I see HWN is open only to members of the enthusiast groups so I'd need to sign up for Club TPR, though that might be worth it in itself. But yeah, ya have won me over. I'll be going this year one way or another, hopefully for HWN but if not I'll just trek out there on my own trip. -
PortAventura Discussion Thread

Well, KK had a good run. I've always wanted to visit Spain, guess this will just have to be what tips me into finally going Only thing is, KK is pretty rough outside the front car, and even there the OTSRs are not exactly fun. As echoed above, this has to be smooth, but if it is AND if by some chance it has lap bars, it will be amazing Good point about lots of great coasters coming to Europe! I always felt lucky, and bad for my friends in Canada and Europe, that had to come all the way here, and would never get top tier coasters but this has surely been changing recently -
What do you use to plan your trips?
JJLehto replied to MarkJWilson's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Shockingly little I like to do as little as possible, you know make sure essentials and travel is taken care of, then after that I just wing it. I try to meet locals and let them be my guides. Two years ago when I went to California the only things I had "planned" were my plane tickets, a rental car, and that I was meeting TPR at SFMM on a certain day. Moment I landed, I just winged my journey Kayak is what I used to actually plan, great site for planes, hotels, and rental cars.
