  1. Good ol Great American Scream Machine. Which, despite its many faults, I still miss probably out of pure nostalgia. Was my first big lopping coaster! After SooperDooperLooper seeing that monster was so awe inspiring.
  2. Ambitious effort, and sounds amazing when they get it to work but yeah, I think we all know realistically dueling/racing will probably not be the norm. And I care not a lick If they managed to get it going though for WCB (and we enthusiasts will move with a little more urgency and sense of what we're doing) that would be amazing, but really I just can't wait to ride. I'm very glad our friends on the West Coast can finally have an airtime buffet.
  3. God, I was really wondering if I should do the WCB, I would have to give up some other trips I had planned but these reviews are too awesome. I figured the airtime wood be good, the 2nd lift would not kill momentum and it would toss you around a good bit, but hearing confirmations of this just excites me more. Any doubts I had have been put to bed, I gotta ride this, esp with WC happening in June so I can compare
  4. Of course! Pretty much those two were the ones I hope to get as many as possible, and hit everything else once lol
  5. It might be a launch, but with what linearinduction stated, it's more than likely trim brakes as the MCBR and final brakes both have the same LSM fins. I didn't think about that at first. It's definitely been debated quite a bit on lagoonisfun.com if they are for a minor launch or for trim brakes. Also, it wouldn't be noticed if it was a launch or brake in any of the tested videos as it could very well not even be on as they were only testing. In short, it's speculation. Gotcha That is what I naturally assumed, I figured it'd be traveling pretty fast if anything and speeding it up would be pretty nuts, though exciting
  6. THIS, I know it's tempting to ride Fury first but unless you have Fastlane Plus you need to ride Nighthawk first. Hmmmmm are re rides possible on Fury without fast lane (while still getting other rides in of course)?
  7. Wait, forgive my noobness but is there any confirmation, or at least validity, to there being a mid course launch? (Or pure speculation) I only ask because in the testing video it didn't seem to have any change in speed. Anyway, good to know it may be opening soon, not sure why but the intrigue with this ride has really had me, I am so curious about it!
  8. Yup! Hoping to meet even more TPRers. Also, since "LA" is a huge place, any suggestions on towns to look for in regards to hotels? Last time I stayed in Hermosa Beach which was nice but a decent haul to the park. Ideally a place closer? The hotels will be easy to find but I got no clue where to start for cities. Suggestions appreciated!
  9. Mhm, met some really cool folk last time, one was kind enough to basically be my tour guide. Never been to SFMM before so he took me around the park in the manner he knew best, got on everything, dodged lots of lines, and was just a really cool dude. Everyone I met was. I was super afraid I'd end up just walking the park alone/didn't want to outright ask if anyone would let me hang with them, but many volunteered on their own! And it's a great time.
  10. Yeah, I'm also curious about any advice for the park, and what crowds may be like on a very late August weekend (only time for me). Seconded on food tips
  11. Nice! So envious of yall that can go in a few days to ride this thing!
  12. It's amazing. I'm an Intamin freak. El Toro is my number 1 woodie and Skyrush is my number one steel. I went to ride fury with standard coaster expectations and I came off shocked. It twists your body like Maverick and drops like Millennium Force. It's a great ride! Definitely top 5 material! That's what I like to hear!
  13. Yes, I went to the 2013 WCB solo and fear not, the TPR crowd is super friendly and welcoming, you will deff find some some people to group up with. Also, people may be coming from all over, and ya know aren't gunna bring family or etc so many travel solo. I myself will be going solo again this year.
  14. I'll be going late August, like the 29th or 30th, I'm hoping crowds won't be tooo bad, ideally low enough I won't need a fast pass or anything. Looking forward to this park and Fury 325! I haven't even looked into any reviews of it because I'm sure people are hating on/shrugging it off but I think it could possibly usurp my #1 spot if it runs fast as it looks. Of course many think I'm nuts already for still having MForce as #1
  15. That is a nice, (simple) yet refreshing theming idea! Yeah I'm scheduled to go here in early June, SO STOKED!
  16. Yikes no kidding, I google mapped it and had no idea it was that far. Good suggestions, thanks. You at least should ride Wildebeest and Mammoth. They are can't miss attractions in the water park. Youll have plenty of time for rerides on the coasters in the afternoon while everyone else is at the water park. Yeah? Well, thanks yall. It's definitively settled then! Not sure what I'd do without TPR in terms of trip planning
  17. Same, I feel kinda selfish when I gripe about certain stuff about parks here, because I am within 4 hours of El Toro, Skyrush, BDash, Bizarro, Phoenix and I recall some CA members I met on WCB griping they have to fly east to get airtime, made me feel spoiled Also it looks like a pretty epic ride. I'll be riding WC in June and TC this WCB, so I can't wait to compare
  18. That someone is me and yes it is very crowded that day. Definitely go the following Sunday, unless you are interested in the concert. Excellent, thank you. I am not interested, and am extremely not interested in the crowds it will bring! I'll find a way to kill time that Saturday and go Sunday...maybe Indiana Beach for the day? Or see if I can hang with my friend in Cincy for another day. Regardless, I'll go Sunday the 23rd thanks!I'm hoping crowds may be OK since it'll be late-ish August and a Sunday. After lots of figuring, that is indeed the only time I can make this happen. Still looking forward to it! Hoping I can get re rides on the coasters, I have no interest in the water park.
  19. Well that's exactly it, I know how lucky I am that I can pop over and get El Toro, KK, Nitro and how lucky we were, but you hit it on the head: We lost a bunch, and I was OK with GASM but I liked the Chiller and all the replacements haven't been very good. The park has been kind of stagnant for a while, it's not only overdue but it's a marquee park in the chain. An RMC would be perfect for a new coaster! That said, I am glad we have a new flat
  20. It's looking like I will indeed have to do HW in August, and it's only open weekends. I see the 22nd there is a concert going on, would it be advisable to wait until Sunday the 23rd for lesser crowds/still have time to do all the coasters?
  21. This is more or less how I feel, it's one of the two franchise parks in the SF chain, I just really wish they could get something big again. A giga would be nice!
  22. That's true it really will be a welcomed addition to the area.
  23. It is pretty funny that most of us gripe how the park has no flats, then they add one and everyone is griping it's not a coaster With all the RMCs and 4th dimensions and cool new rides yeah, feels a bit lackluster this is "all" we got, and it's been so many years since getting an actually new coaster, but hey, tis a new ride and I'll want to try it when I go to the park! Just hope it lasts!
  24. A brief launch seems pretty cool to me
  25. That I've ridden: B&M: Nitro Intamin: MForce RMC: none My opinions: B&M: Fury 325 Intamin: Probably Expedition GeForce RMC: Medusa, possibly Wicked Cyclone
