  1. Locals/frequent goers. What would the park be like on a Sunday, and of course taking into account the new coaster? Some people are going then but I'd rather do a Friday. I believe school is still in session?
  2. I totally get it, the history of it and all but you weren't missing much! Amazing how this went from a slow, boring and decrepit coaster to the perfect one. I still can't get over it's pacing even at the end, despite it's length and not super fast top speed, and I love the layout. Really hoping it won't be super crowded during the weekday. I'm thinking Fri the 29th, a pure WC riding day ha
  3. Nice. It really is amazing when it races. All I know is I'm hoping they have it synced up to race for WCB but even if not, I'm crazy excited
  4. I know right, I get the excitement and especially out west were they sorely lack airtime, and we all know Six Flags will flub everything up, but man just opened and already the flak is flying! Give it a month or two before the rage
  5. Superb pictures, and all my envy you got to marathon this. I'm hoping for a not so crowded weekday as my only hope. Or ya know, a future TPR trip to SFNE
  6. Love it! Not the biggest, fastest, or even "craziest looking" but I think it'll be up there with Medusa as perhaps best RMC I'm loving all these great reviews, giving me something to look forward to while I'm slogging through calc class
  7. Indeed, this is such an exciting time to be an enthusiast. RMC, B&M stepping outside their box, and so many woodies that sadly have fallen to time...one has to wonder how many will be converted. I felt things were a bit stale a few years ago and now, not to sound dramatic but we're in a new wave right now. Exciting times. That is great to her, this is not a bash just an observation: I've not gone to my home park in 2 years now so I know the feeling, I am glad you are going again! Speaking of shots being fired, I can think of a few Cedar Fair woodies that could REALLY use the RMC treatment, and they really need to get themselves into this game.
  8. Good lord, the speed that thing moves with. As it's been said before, so glad our west coast friends finally have an airtime buffet, and one helluva ride. Amazing pics, that one with the trains in the hill and roll at the same time, beautiful.
  9. Yup, beyond excited. When is the official opening? Every great coaster I ride seems to lack one small thing, but this seems like it may truly have it all. No doubt, gunna go and marathon this ride, do the actual park another time So glad an RMC is finally near me.
  10. When is the public opening date for this? I may go on a weekday, ASAP while school is still in session, and marathon this thing. Go solely to squeeze as many as I can on this, then go with friends/others another time to do the park.
  11. Honestly, yes I see at least a few people having that. I think WC is gunna threaten my #1 spot and this may be up there as well!
  12. Holy Crap. Robb's POV was amazing. This may seriously take my #1 spot. Going in a couple of weeks but feels like an eternity from now!
  13. Yeah I'll wait for actual POVs but I was also shocked from the bits we've seen the pace it seems to carry, even near the end, and the forcefulness it moves through those whacky bits
  14. I'd like to say #100 which was Flying Turns at Knoebels, but it was 101.....Kozmo's Kurves I plan to add some better ones this year
  15. Sounds awesome! So getting out here this year, seems like this is the best time to finally go It depends on how late in the season you go. It's always hard to tell how well they're gonna hold up Well again my hands are pretty tied to late august, but I like an "aggressive" ride and I am still well under 40 so I will take my chances! I want to clarify a bit my earlier post. I by no means meant to say that The Voyage is as smooth as a steel coaster because thats just not true. Being rough is the nature of the beast when it comes to wooden coasters. I rode it at media preview day and it was running very well. I'm 34 and suffered a stroke about a year and a half ago yet I was still able to ride(albeit only once). What I"m saying is that it is by no means overly rough and I think people THINK its overly rough because of how fast and intense the ride is combined with the nature roughness of a wooden coaster. On the 1-10 scale with 1 being the roughest I'd place The Voyage (based on my one ride on media preview day) of about 5, right in the middle. Now as far as intensity, with 10 being the most intense it gets a 10 no questions asked. Add those two together and well, I think thats why many people complain of it being more rough than it is. I will also say, I don't think your really taking any "chances" even if you don't end up liking it. The Voyage is one of those rides that is a very unique experience. Even if you don't end up liking it you will be certainly glad you rode it at least once. I know your trip isn't until August but I'm really interested in a trip report from you when you return! All good! Just a bit of fun I'm having anyway. I've been wanting to ride Voyage since it opened pretty much so I'm stoked. I'd say I actually like a rough ride, if its fun/intense I can tolerate it (boring and rough on the other hand sucks) the only coaster I actually found TOO rough was Villain at Geauga Lake, the last year of its operation. I somehow think this won't be that bad
  16. No problem! Looking at your top coasters in your signature, we have a very similar top ten list, so I can tell you that you will not regret it!! Yeah I'm expecting one of these RMCs to possibly take #1 finally!

  18. What a review! Thanks for basically forcing my hand in buying plane tix to CA. ANY doubts lingering about if I should go to WCB have been put to rest.
  19. I am guilty of using the same measure of airtime Also SO jealous of those who get to ride so soon! Ah! I may go on a weekday soon while school will still be in session and try to marathon this as many times as I can
  20. Sounds awesome! So getting out here this year, seems like this is the best time to finally go
  21. WOW this is indeed under the radar! Had no idea. So what exactly is going on with this thing? It has a reverse point but also a lift, does it like, switch track and take a different way back? I'd imagine at that flat part. All we need now is a launched wooden! It seems the next step for wooden coasters to take.
  22. Nice, so envious of everyone who can ride before September
  23. Someone posted a video of that just a couple of pages back. If you end uo getting halted, which I thought I saw in the animations, then not exactly a big deal, but if carries that lil boost of speed through all those pre lift hops and twistys could make a really fun pre lift intro. I haven't heard anyone comment on such a thing yet however.
  24. Shoot I feel old! 1999 for me! Yeah that was another thing about it, we never would really want to ride it, but there was never a line! I never disliked it, and I think we got joy from it in a "oh man that hurts!" kind of way but yeah it wasn't exactly a fav. Loch Ness Monster was way better and actually enjoyable but so much slower and mild, while GASM at least was "intense" and banged ya around, honestly we never wanted to admit to liking it but looking back on it, we did. I mean, we made sure to ride it every single time
