Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
JJLehto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes do fastlane. Go to Mystic Timbers first, then flight of fear and firehawk because those are the next longest lines. Hit diamondback and beast next. After that it doesn't really matter. Stay away from banshee until mid afternoon. Excellent, thanks a bunch. -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
JJLehto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So, turns out flights are cheaper for me if I leave a day later, meaning I could have an extra full day on my OH/PA trip. Thinking of going a bit crazy and squeezing Kings Island into this trip. On a Saturday in early June (the 3rd to be exact) what can be expected from crowds? Fast pass recommended? If possible, what would a good plan of attack be like? Ya know, what to do first, better early rides, how it would work with fast pass etc Thanks as always! -
The funny thing is, and no matter how many times we will say it to people, we really *HONESTLY* don't care what they say. So many people think that by coming on our FB page or YouTube Channel and making some horrible comment about the commentary or the content of the video, we'll stop what we are doing, take their thoughts into consideration, and then radically change how we produce videos. PEOPLE *ACTUALLY* BELIEVE THIS!!! lol And we can't get it through people's heads enough that we seriously do not care. They can go post negatively on every single video we have (and someone has actually done this before to all two thousand of our YouTube videos), thumbs down the video as much as they'd like, or (and this one is my favorite) threaten to unsubscribe or unlike our page. They can do all of that... WE REALLY DO NOT CARE!!! LMAO! None of that affects our page or the channel or how we produce our content in the slightest. In short - Humans entertain me! That's always how it is. People think they are "winning" when you respond, that they are these master trolls or the joke is on you but they never realize that whenever we respond, it's funny to us...the joke is on them and you go about your business while people apparently rage at the thought of you every day. And years later, people are still this angry? Yikes, I've gotten over painful relationships in shorter time than these folk. Down vote/comment every single video. And I thought I had no life

Nope, but I am actually going there for the first time ever this June. That's why I thought about Conneaut, that was the park along the way as I head to my hotel after leaving Waldameer. Heading to Cedar Point the next day. Been wanting to go to Waldameer for years. At first for RFII but it looks to be a very nice lil park. I plan to spend several hours there. Oh man your snark game is A+ right now. Honestly it was purely because the park is right there, if I have a good enough time at Waldameer I'll gladly ditch Conneaut. As said I don't have a compulsion to rack up creds for the sake of it.

I really don't ride kids coasters either but there's no shame in riding Kozmo's Kurves. Kozmo's Kurves rules. It really does. I was quite surprised! Not sure is this is credit whorish, but I have a future one. I am gunna stop at Conneaut Lake Park solely because it'll be near where I am. I will be going solely for the 1 coaster, then I'm jetting off to Ohio for my hotel. Not even sure if the coaster is well regarded, I just know it's there.

Gah, I'll get to HoliWood Nights some year. What a great looking event. Choosing Cedar Point this year, maybe next. Seems they always fall on the same weekend? Great pics, this park seems so downright wonderful. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
JJLehto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
CP is already trying to keep their guests safe. They have security. Metal detectors don't increase security; they just increase its visibility. This is a CYA move, plain and simple. They're avoiding lawsuits, not incidents. A million signs, a big ol' fence, a warning from the ride ops that loose articles should be left with a non-rider, a dropped phone, and one stupid decision later, the park comes under fire for being unsafe. People will complain, whine, and grovel to every lawyer in the world if they get so much as a nightmare about getting a paper cut at an amusement park. Precisely, and that is the point I was trying to make. The park(s) have to do this, "CYA". People seem to not like that but what else can we expect, but yes god forbid something terrible happens. We know how the news blows things up and how people over react. You said it, it would be a disaster for any park, and thus all of em. That was my stance and not sure why people are so opposed. Cedar Point isn't an altruistic entity here to please us enthusiasts in every way lol its a business and we all need to protect ourselves. I get lines are gunna be longer and maybe annoying, but it'd be illogical for parks to not do this -

Yeah never had fast lane, I do it over 2 days instead and with hotel early access its always been enough to be totally satisfied, go at your own pace is indeed the best advice -

And of course no one wants that or any of this, it was more a purely "we get why they feel they need to do this" and it's sad that's the case, but as it was said that's the world we live in today. Just figured all we can do is plan best we can accordingly and hope CP gets a handle on it so it moves smoothly as possible -

Anywho, assuming you're at the park at opening, will this really be that much of a hold up? I assume for ERT it'd be largely a non issue. Is it just walking through after you've already presented your ticket? I just don't see this being a big deal at all, and if you beat the crowd I never had a problem at Great Adventure, and cmon at CP or any major park you wanna beat the crowd regardless -

Hey, sincerely everyone: My apologies for missing the rule, I had no idea. I only read a few pages back whenever I log on here. I also have come back to this site just recently after not being on for a while, my first post in this thread in ages was just 9 pages ago. During this I didn't see the rule, I didn't see any people being banned, it was an honest mistake and I edited my post immediately. If I knew I absolutely wouldn't have posted anything. I was just excited, not here to break/skirt/stretch any rules and sure as heck don't want to be banned, sorry for not seeing the rule it was not done on purpose. I love this place and Cedar Point, no disrespect was meant to either. -

I guess it is kind of surprising it's taken this long for parks to use them, especially these days. It's just a sobering thought all around, none of us want to deal with this or think about it but alas. Really I don't care about the extra waits and the park covering themselves, what can you expect? Imagine the backlash if something tragic was to happen and "they didnt even bother to try and keep the patrons safe". -

I just dont get why there's such a backlash against this. Weren't there metal detectors at Great Adventure? Maybe it was the fact I was always there at opening but I recall just walking through, and since you were at the gate you already were at a stop? I don't know will this really have such a negative impact on entry? -
The most rare coaster credits

Just enjoy the experience and don't be OCD about it? How can one be an enthusiast of something on the internet and "just enjoy it"!?Without debating over a superior type of footer or whether or not the angle of turn 7 of this ride is better than turn 3 whats even the point of having a hobby? -

JJLehto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, cliché answer but really all ya can do about this is: plan for it. Go earlier, prepare etc We all know bad doers will always find a way, and the interests of business and feeling safe vs privacy/inconvenience etc etc man what a grim topic for a fun forum. This is one of the rare pockets of the internet (rare they are these days) I can take a mental break. I can't wait to get back to the point and 2 (3? Rougarou is a new cred I think) new creds including my first dive and wing coaster. Some metal detectors or not! -
Interesting you say that, because that would be the order I'd do it in. Oh I don't doubt it! I'd hate to rush, honestly the only reason I am contemplating this is not so much a cred rush, it's because Waldameer is small, and I'd hate to add an extra day to the trip solely to do Waldameer which may not need more than a couple of hours? I will be honest, I'm in it for RFII and the fact I'll be near the area. I'd be fine with spamming RFII then jetting to KW. Especially if I did it on that Thursday, less crowds I'd hope. I do appreciate all the input! This is basically what I'm looking at: A) Land thurs early, go to Waldameer then KW. Friday: Cedar Point. Sat fly home early. B) Land thurs afternoon, go to Waldameer for late afternoon/early night. Friday: Cedar Point. Sat: KW then fly home late

I feel the same way. Corkscrew is bad, but it's not THAT bad. I usually ride it once per visit. Not that it's so bad, other arrows were deff worse, just ya know it isn't that good, not enough for me to ride it again. I just don't bother. -
Oh wow, that's surprising hours, but very good to know thanks! I am confident it'll happen. I guess details need to be worked out but the WCB is such a great event, I imagine SFMM KBF and Robb will manage to work out a new date. Least I hope! I can finally go back If not, guess it'll be Lightning Rod and Fury 325 for me. But yeah I never thought to look into that, given the area's climate I just assumed it has full hours year round
