  1. ^yeahtheaqua trax jokeis stillre ally funny I was totally wrong about the timeline. I thought for sure with all of the quick progress it would have been a simple revamp for 2023.
  2. The amount of appreciation you get from the little things in life is great. Her joy is our deep meaningful joy multiplied. We don't live for ourselves anymore, and life takes on a real purpose. For that, I'll gladly wait in the hour long log flume line to make her happy.
  3. Spoiled. Bored. Expecting the perfect trip. Seeing things from a different perspective than other guests. That's where we were. We moved on and had a kid. We don't bitch as much as we used to. The little things don't bother us like they used to. But if you're not happy, don't go. You don't owe the park anything. It's up to them to make you happy.
  4. We had a great visit in July. The raft ride was down for a while though, so #shithole.
  5. Doubtful, but there's already a nice piece of flat land where Thunder River is. I hope Magic Mountain enjoys their new family coaster.
  6. This thread is hilarious. Two thoughts. A company offering a product should attempt to please a consumer, more than a consumer should attempt to please the company. What I mean is that these bullshit loyalty claims throughout the industry of "supporting the park," with disregard to product satisfaction is really twisted. Giving to a corporation is not giving to a charity. For example, on a Silver Dollar City Facebook group I watched some lady get destroyed by fanboys because she simply said she wasn't going to renew her passes if the train wasn't operational by next season. She said her family enjoys the train the most. She was shamed for not supporting the park. My second thought, on behalf of parks, is that they also don't owe you anything. Parks are simply offering their product as is and leaving it up to the consumer to make their purchasing decision. They should, and only will please you, if it benefits their profits margin. Companies will change their product depending on current market target trends and profit. A company's goal is return on investment, which usually comes from customer satisfaction resulting in purchasing the product. The bottom line is about your money, not your feelings, despite them being typically related. However, the relationship is much less personable than people want it to be. If you're not satisfied with the product being offered, don't renew your passes. Corporate doesn't take this personal. You have a right to be pissed if you want, but there's really no reason to expect anything other than profit driven decisions. Six Flags Saint Louis is currently pleasing enough guests to justify their decisions to not add new attractions. If they're not pleasing you, there's no need to have blind loyalty. Wait for them to offer a product you want to pay for. Don't pay first and expect your desired product as a result of some false loyalty. That's counterintuitive. As for us, I'd love to not renew our passes this year, but Eve crossed the 36" threshold. There may not be anything new for me, but there's plenty new for her. We'll see.
  7. I'd be too self conscious to tell people I'm a "diamond elite" anything for a theme park. It sounds so ultra-nerd status. I'd still just refer to it as a season pass... ^ lol look. Now it's applicable everywhere! Also, Indiana Beach and Worlds of Fun.
  8. Corporate doesn't hate SFSTL. They just hate you.
  9. That preferred parking advice is on-point. Thanks. No idea why I didn't think about that, especially since we'll still have to leave mid-day for a nap. The resort is out, because we'll need our own room/living area, unless we plan on going to bed at 8:30 every night.
  10. Dollywood looks to be our 2023 kid vacation. Although, I'm a little apprehensive. Fire Chaser and Dragon Flier have 39 inch height requirements. She just crested 36", out of nowhere. (like legitimately grew an inch in a month) With shoes, she's probably about 37 inches. I just don't know if we should hold off a year where we're well within the height range, or cross our fingers we'll gain about 2 inches in the next 7-8 months. She's always within the 80-90 percentile in height, so I hope we keep that up. The 36" barrier opens a lot of doors, as it is. We'll for sure take the three hour drive to Holiday World in the Spring and make Howler her first coaster. Is Dollywood pretty good about height requirements? Or, is this going to be one of those stories where we measure 39.5" at home, only to be denied the 39" range? Or, we get a wrist band up front, get height checked at the rides, and denied there? These are stories I've heard about some parks over the years. If I remember correctly, I think the Alvey's ran into this once?
  11. Good to know a community water park is having HITP.
  12. Good. Drive up the stock so I can dump the rest of mine.
  13. Dude! How did I miss out on the haunted stripper TR?
  14. ^I made a couple substitutions. Sounds like SFSTL every other season. For us, it always starts with the planters and a few painted railings. Shoot for the stars and pray to the power-washer Gods, because shit is about to get exciting.
  15. Easy, pal. That's toxic masculinity you're speaking of. Better start working on that public apology.
  16. I guess those high standards don't include opening up a new attraction at the beginning of the season. It's impossible to do it both correctly and timely. "Good food takes time." Be patient. 2025 will be here before you know it.
  17. We'll be there. I thought it was about cold fingers and toes?
  18. I think you're doing it right, Kim. Not that I have nearly the parental experience you have. Your son is going to be vastly more prepared than his peers who have never held real jobs. In turn, he'll likely be more successful and a more well rounded person.
