Has anyone had any particularly odd items confiscated by theme parks? At Six flags America, I had a half empty bottle of water taken, someone else had to argue that they should be allowed their sun cream, in case they burnt, and a couple of other things banned were: 1 - A Bandana 2 - A plastic hair curler - about 3 inches long, 1 inch wide - it was painted silver, so they thought it must be a dangerous metal weapon!

Seriously bad theme park days

No guesses yet - so I'll tell you it was El Toro - hence the 15 or so disappointed people around new jersey a couple of weeks ago! We tried to get back later in the week but were spited by a dodgy satnav and traffic!! still - got some good reasons to head back! -
There are a few: Steeplechase - Blackpool Pleasure beach - no other coaster has that "hold on tight" feeling First go on stealth (thorpe) gave me butterflies Apocalypse (drayton) stand up floorless side - first time on it I felt unsafe Pendol - tibidabo, uncomfy seat, slow lift and being held there - yikes! and most recently - skyrush at hershey - NOTHING prepares you for such brutal out of your seat ejector air!

We arrived late, and didn't really think to look for anything that meant "no parking!" and as for DD - it was just where everyone else headed when we were greeted by a closed coney island! On a similar point - see if you can guess what spited us by being down for maintenance at SFGAd the next day?? (clue - it wasn't kingda ka) (although it was still a pretty good day...) -

well - the park shoulod have been open 12-8... and of course, unforseen circumstances always happen - an ECC trip a few years ago had to abandon a day because the coach hit a cyclist.. hope to get on a tpr trip sometime though!! bizarro at sfne was incredible! -
Have you ever had a complete disaster day at a theme park? I'm currently doing a tour with another forum, and today we were due to do Coney island (yeah, I know it's not really a theme park), possibly one of the worst days ever... woke up and discovered 2 of the 3 hire cars had gone (presumed towed), and as we didn't know the reg,it was really hard to get info on whether they'd been impounded. Decided to get to Coney island and sort that out later. 90 mins later we arrive at Coney to find it closed - we asked when it would open and were told "tomorrow, cos of the weather" (it was only a moderate shower) you'd think they didn't want the place to survive! After a disappointing lunch bagel at dunkin donuts we went back for sightseeing and lots of walking - finished up in toys r us on times square. were we saw 2 Elmo's outside - one was shouting at people to avoid leapfrog as it was an "international jew toy", then someone approached us and asked if we liked stand up comedy, and one of the group started a 20 minute debate! Shortly after this - I lost the rest of the group, and decided to get back to the hotel... Subway back was interesting too - got on "track one" instead of "line 1" and ended up going back and forth a couple of times! On the plus side - the cars have been recovered!

So - When did the "thing" of calling lock-ers "fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo" get started then? and more importantly - HOW???

You obviously have some serious reading comprehension disorder, because that's not what I was saying at all, and I think you know damn well. Ok - maybe I overgeneralised a bit, but I couldn't really see why your argument for not counting backyard coasters is particularly valid (at least in my mind - particularly with something like oklahoma land run or blue flash) (just a reminder for the rest on here - back to page 1, you did say "Personally, I wouldn't count his coasters. I'd ride them and have fun on them, sure. But I wouldn't put them on my personal list. Any ride that could be closed because the dude "isn't home", isn't a countable roller coaster to me!!) but - despite the fact my list may have a few coasters which other people wouldn't count, I'm not a particular credit whore! - I won't rush for big apples or circus clowns (although I'm quite partial to zierer tivoli's!), I just like to keep a record of what I've done. I really enjoy the escapism you get at a park - whether it's an immaculately themed place like Europa Park or a real dive. and hopefully I'll get to attend one someday!

False. When I'm gone, I'm going to make my children carry my ashes with them on whatever future credits they get. I'll be gaining credits long after I'm gone! what would they carry them in? most parks are quite strict about taking things on rides! I can see it now - "can I take my bottle of pop on please??" (note - in england "pop" is a slang word for soda/lemonade as well as a informal word for dad!)

surely using that logic, any coasters at theme parks where they have off seasons wouldn't count either?? That would leave just disney and a few others.. Don't be an a$$hole. You know what I mean. In a way - but I just think that "because it might be closed" is a poor reason... Yeah - it's more my typing and proof reading skills!! So, out of curiosity, would you count The Voyage before and after the Timberliners as different credits? probably not - but maybe i'd just be controversial (haven't ridden it in either form yet though!)

Link In other news - riding roller coasters can enhance your memory, now where did I put that link?? -
surely using that logic, any coasters at theme parks where they have off seasons wouldn't count either?? That would leave just disney and a few others.. and even those, if all the ride ops go on strike, then they'd close too - meaning there are no countable coasters at all.... personally - I count anything on RCDB, http://coastercounter.com/#/ , http://www.coaster-count.com/welcome.xhtml and anything else I want to (I'm naughty and have hydro counted...) dual tracks - 2 creds relocated - 2 creds, just cos changes would need to be significant (eg steel phantom) or have a big impact on ride style (complete change of car style) backyard's - if I went on one, i'd count it

I love the way they've labeled everything so nicely! -
I've had a few go up to 1/5-2 hours, but don't think I've gone over 2 yet (even Saw when someone was sick on the ride!) Had a few days when you could barely move around a park though - namely one at portaventura (which reminds me - I did have a 2.5hour q for baco) and one at heide park- when queues for drinks where about 15 minutes!!
