  1. I was just planning a little flyover to paris next weekend for Asterix, St paul and Jardin D'acclimatation, and I've just noticed on another thread that next Sat is Bastille day! SO I'm wondering: 1 - Do I go somewhere else? 2 - Do I go to asterix on the friday before? 3 - do I stick to my original plan of St paul and Jardin on saturday, and asterix on sunday, but get the premium pass? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
  2. Hi, Does anyone know if you can buy the new premium passes at Parc asterix on the day, or separate from your entry ticket? Thanks
  3. I don't know, Skyrush seems like the last of a deal with Intamin, because Stormrunner is red, Fahrenheit is orange, and to close it off, a yellow coaster. Just my thinking. Strange logic - how does that work? If we're doing colors of the rainbow, they have green, blue, indigo and violet left!
  4. That explains why I fitted on my first go (row 3 I think), and not the second go (about 3 from the back) then! ^ps - I wonder what a flabbergasted hat looks like...
  5. Well - I hope you've got your flabbergasted hat ready, I was there on the 13th, and guess what? All of Maverick, TTD and MF had hour queues! (according to the info boards - I had fastlane)
  6. I'm a bit surprised to see poor reviews, particulalrly as it's barely 2 months since the ECC and CoasterForce both rode it - and both said that it was "one of B and Ms best, if not their very best". Then again I've heard "Nemesis Beater" used for lot's of BamdMs, but to me nothing yet has touched the raw intensity and overall ride experience that nemmy gives time and time again! It's amazing how coasters can vary though - before our US trip, I'd heard all sorts on how brill Boulder Dash was - yet even those who love the ride, said that they'd "never known it run this bad" - it did improve in the evening, but still wasn't the number 1 ride we were expecting. I don't know if it's JUST the hype that can ruin a ride - I've had a number of occasions when I'd heard little about a ride, and found it very disapointing (Daemonen, kanonen), and a number of occasions when a well hyped ride has blown me away! (Bizarro sfne and Piraten)
  7. I've had a fair few in my time Couple of times I've had to use the big boy seat on nemesis (and the regular seats on that are huge) At phantasialand a few years ago - needed the big seats on black mamba, and only fitted on mystery castle 1 of 3 times, and couldn't fit on movie park and holiday parks drop tower. in spain, had to do the WOS on abismo, hurakan condor, furius baco (fitted once, failed once) and needed the big seats on khan On the USA trip, was fine on everything, but had a 1/2 success on wicked twister. At the moment - the concerns would probably be: 1 - colossos at thorpe (very small restraints 2 - A KMG booster 3 - still wicked twister 4 - a zamperla pirate ship - mainly "chest" size rather than "gut" size
  8. On a video of desert race in Heide Park
  9. Is it just me, or does that layout look a bit rude??
  10. "-All roller coasters at both parks (except Casey Jr.)" Casey Jr rocks! Cinemagic's a cute little show too!
  11. Surely they should swap Kingda Ka and Bizarro around to make the categories more similar? (and replace desperado with another big launcher?)
  12. Some of my faves are: Ghost trains: Knoebels haunted mansion Brighton pier ghost train (cheesy but good) Brean terror castle (some genuine scares) Alton towers haunted house (boo to duel) Blackpools ghost train Bakken's ghost train Others: All the ones ad WDW anbd DLP Darkastle and spiderman Gold mine (Formerly blackpool - hope the wallace and gromit ride is a worthy successor) Brer rabbits burrow - oakwood - disgustingness at it's most childish! boat rides: POTC - paris River caves - Blackpool
  13. Dominator at KD is quite odd - down the pathway near the kids coasters, and onto what looks like an old school field, and there it is, on it's own!
  14. You must have got lucky - My bathroom was awful dash to cedar point and several group members had cockroaches in their rooms!
  15. Although I have over 300 creds now, my top 5 comes out quite easily! 5 - Piraten - Djurs sommerland Rode about 10 times during a CF ERS a few years ago - was consistent throughout the train, and from cold - brilliant airtime, great layout and the way it keeps it's speed throughout is exceptional 4 - Nemesis - Alton Towers Still the best high thrill looper out there - there's just something about the whole layout, atmosphere and raw intensity that makes it very special 3 - Colossos - Heide Park We got just one go on this, and considering it was running from almost "cold", the airtime and fun we had were right up there. 2 - Skyrush - Hershey park A 30 minute ERT was more than enough to persuade our group that: A- The airtime is quite unlike anything else, particularly in the outer seats B - It's consistently good throughout C - The restraints only slightly detract from the ride quality (I was fine with them, one or 2 people did have a problem with the pain) - Everyone on the ers stayed the full 30 mins. 1 - Bizarro - SFNE Great air + great pacing = Bizarro! Can't comment on the differences since the conversion to bizarro, but if the restraints used had those evil shin bars, like SFAs superman - that would utterly wreck it for me! Had no problem with the lap bars or stapling myself!
  16. Back in 1986, an English documentary programme called "QED" had a show about roller coasters + thril rides, called "The Most Swirling Swinging Sliding Spinning Up-and-Down Ride of Your Life". Clips can be found on youtube... Amongst the clips of pirate ships, enterprises, wave swingers etc. they showed a first gen intamin drop tower. I'd wanted to go on one ever since - and I finally got the cred at dorney park a couple of weeks ago! Has anyone else had any seriously long waits between finding out about a ride, and actually going on it? Also worth noting are my waits to ride Ultimate, the big one and shockwave at drayton manor - heard about all of them at Uni (early-mid 90s), rode them in 2006 and 7! I also waited about 25 years for a reride on space mountain at disney world!
  17. Aww - That picture got deleted, and I wanna know what the sign said...
  18. I've had a few "what do you mean my child's too small?" one's 1 - Vampire at Chessington a few years ago - a dad tried to get on with his daughter about 2-3 trains before mine, and she was about 4 or 5 inches too short - dad was still arguing when I'd finished my ride almost 10 minutes later! 2 - DIsneyland paris - I think Big thunder mountain - read this online - Apparently they had the cheek to measure the boy when he'd joined the queue and then tell them he was too short. 3 - Great bear at Hershey park- on our recent trip, a dad got nasty with one of our group members for stopping his daughter from sneaking on the ride, after being told she was too small - he brought out the old "She's already ridden 3 times today!" one!
  19. OOps - sorry about that one - I made the report on blogger, for ease of posting to multiple forums and lists! Ps - This slide you mention - is it a credit??
  20. Just avoid the red roof inn near hersheypark, unless you like stained bathrooms and cockroaches!
  21. Hi, I've finally finished the trip report from my US trip with Coasterforce. http://dansdashtocedarpoint.blogspot.co.uk/ You may remember I was a bit concerned about fitting on everything - I was fine except for wicked twister - which I got on once, but then had to do the walk of shame on!
  22. Hope they don't do what they did when we visited a couple of weeks ago and close the whole damn park for the whole damn day, just for a bit of rain.. (Not that I'm bitter or anything!!)
  23. Surprised to see such love for a wooden coaster which is just "above average" in a park which has the awesome thunderbolt!
  24. My list so far is pretty impressive.. Thorpe park (new cred - swarm) Brean - all new Wicksteed park - last visit was when I was about 5! and a big us trip: Lake compounce Six flags New England Six flags Great Adventure (spited by toro, otherwise good day) Knoebels Dorney park Six flags America Hershey park Kings dominion Busch gardens Williamsburg Kennywood Cedar Point spited by Quassy, Coney island and idlewild (both coasters were out, so I had the day off) to visit - god knows!
  25. From a yahoo "story" about the 7 best kid friendly parks: I always lose my flipper on roller coasters!!
