I'm not sure how accurate this is but while watching videos on youtube, I came across this one and supposedly this is what the new ride is. Just thought I'd share:
-
And we have a POV
-
^
^
Robb, you are so hilarious to watch and listen to while you're on a coaster, I love it!
-
-
I agree Chuck, some parks are getting rid of log flumes which is a shame, it's nice to see a new one being built.
-
I really can't say one way or another, there's 4 times a year I hunker down at home: Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Thunder Weekend, and Derby weekend including Friday.
-
I was just talking to a coworker about Kings Island and it made me remember one of my favorite attractions as a kid but I can't remember what the name was. It was right next to Racer about where Flight Commander used to be. I remember you walked into a dome tent structure and there were 2 or 3 hand railings and you would stand there watching a 180 degree movie screen and while watching the movie it would feel like you were moving and turning left and right even though you were standing still. Anyone remember what the name of that was? I absolutely loved that thing.
-
I love the drop, just wish they would have done a tunnel kind of like The Legend but I understand why they didn't.
-
That is hard to call because that is Oaks and Derby weekend so it could be a mad house.
-
I now know the new official name for whatever they're building "Meaner Streak".
-
Pretty cool interview with Don:

Seeing the outside of the Shed, to me it doesn't look tall enough for some kind of drop track because it's all posts and trusses so I'm guessing not a drop track section... maybe a piece of track that barrel rolls 180 degrees?
-
I know what's in the shed.
It's a launched RMC giga coaster in the dark. Unfortunately it only works once per month.
I see what you did there and that's great... Hopefully they will build another canopy to help prevent wasps nests at the end of the launch

If you haven't done so yet, I would like Koaster Kid's FB page. June 21st they are doing a Koaster Kids Day at Kentucky Kingdom:
Hi, everyone. We are so excited to announce that we have partnered with Kentucky Kingdom to do an awesome day of thrills and fun at Koaster Kids Day! Kentucky Kingdom is offering Koaster Kids fans discounted tickets at only $20 each, which includes admission to the amusement park, and the water park, and free drinks all day! Regular gate price is $49.95, which doesn't include drinks! We are also going to be getting some ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) on either Storm Chaser or Lightning Run for only our group before the park opens! We will also be selling half-price Koaster Kids t-shirts for that day. So, who's coming? We'd love to get a huge turnout to thank Kentucky Kingdom and show other parks the power of Koaster Kids!! A way to order tickets is coming soon.
Here's the link to their FB page:

I almost forgot, I asked Saturday about a Halloween event possibility and what they said was that they wouldn't necessarily do a "scary" Halloween event that they've been talking about doing a Fall Festival Holiday type of event, so that will be something to look forward to along with the Beer Garden

oh I know, still would like to see a roller coaster that goes 50 feet underground that would be one heck of a first drop. I figured that whole back area where we went in would be a good expansion area.
-
The only bad thing about trying to put in a big coaster is since KK is right in the middle of two approaches to runways it can be difficult putting something too big unless you go underground to get around the height restriction, but I'm excited to hear what they are doing for 2018 & 2019.
-
I'm just hoping something better than the boring anti-climatic ending that they put on Adventure Express, because it looks like an amazing coaster and a similar type of flat ending would not entirely kill the whole thing but it would make it less desirable in a way.
-
I still think they would be stupid not to put a giant Harry Potter hotel in that area. They would be printing money.
100% Facts.
I guess Universal is really at Rowling's mercy then when it comes to rides and the entire Harry Potter land. I understand they have put so much into Harry Potter because it generates the most revenue. It just sucks it may be at the expense of premier unique attractions. Going back to what Robb said, Dueling Dragons could be the first completely defunct B&M if I'm not mistaken.
I can understand wanting to collaborate with the creator just like Disney did with James Cameron but I think it'd be crazy to allow them dictate what rides can and can't stay just because the creator doesn't like a particular ride. I'm like everyone else the screen rides are cool but not multiple versions of them that just gets boring.
-
Good point, but if it is for 2018 since the 2017 coasters are pretty much nearly complete they wouldn't have to worry about records being stolen from them, they could announce it since they already have a head start on all the other amusement parks.
-
We were talking about this, this weekend at KK's Keys to the Kingdom, we pretty much all agree that this is the world's worst kept secret and honestly how long did CP expect to be able to keep it a secret, they may as well go ahead just announce whatever it is. Everybody knows that Mean Streak is being converted. I've never worked in PR at all but even I know something this big and visible should have been announced from the gitgo because you were never going to be able to keep it a secret.

G@D D@MN IT! Why the f#(k do people video like that! It's completely unwatchable! The world doesn't see in portrait mode! We see landscape! Stop f#(king shooting video in portrait! Sorry everyone. I lost my sh!t. I apologize.
Can you all ever forgive me?
NEVER! NEVER EVER!!!!
I don't watch videos that just don't look good. I can always see the same thing, filmed better, somewhere else (often filmed by TPR, which does great video.)
TPR makes the best videos out there.
-
^ good pics, I missed them saying that but I'll be looking forward to this next year.
-
Great pictures! Thanks for the TR. I see a few people I know in those pics. I haven't been to the park since it re-opened, hoping to swing by this year!
One question, what is this large concrete area? It looks like something used to be here, but can't think of it. Also, in the slots on the right, looks like old coaster caliper brakes.
That is where the drag racer simulator/ride was and those are the individual tracks that each car rode in or on. They used the loading area for the new ride and the rest of long area is just empty except for those tracks.

Last set:
yes we got let into the heavenly gates.....
yes I'm a dirty coaster perv who likes to stare up at coaster bits
can I just camp out here all summer and watch the trains go by every day?
lubricated for your pleasure
*drooooool*
new for this year
pretty cars
that's bigger than I was expecting and that's what she said
a beautiful bar that got the Six Flags treatment and hmmm, shocker was rescued by Ed Hart's group (was submerged thanks to Katrina)
hmmmm... good food
the man himself, such a great guy, he was asking us questions instead of just answering questions
I never got a chance to ride Greased Lightning so I can't say I miss it or not but I definitely approve of the replacement
no lightning strikes today
fun ride but I can never get the cables to snap on these type of rides
*plays ACDC's for whom the bell tolls* the reason for this being the last season is because of wood structure issues.

I was questioning it myself, it's a possibility but I'm just not seeing it based on what's built so far.
