  1. Hi everyone, I'm working on a project and I'm trying to find out the origin of the famous "Help me Janice" slingshot video, ie. the park it's from, who Janice is, the ride etc. I wondered if anyone here might know any breadcrumb of info on this??
  2. Thanks guys All your responses have been really helpful. After discussing this with my tutor, I have decided to go with the History programme for BBC Four. It also helps that my tutor produces programmes for this channel too haha!
  3. Hi guys Last week I posted asking for examples of extreme coasters that have been redesigned. But if you don't know me, I'm a TV Production student at the University of Leeds and for my final project I'm developing a 30 minute documentary based around roller coasters. I've had a number of ideas and I've decided stick to the UK industry (because it's more practical), and I've narrowed it down the these three. Which one would you be most interested in watching, or otherwise, which is the better idea in your opinion? For the guys in the UK, the channel gives some indication to the style of the film but if you're unfamiliar with the channels then just choose what you think is best anyway Of course, please do ignore the titles, I realise they're rather awful but it's not so important at this point. Thanks guys!
  4. Wow thanks guys for the amazing response! You've all been really helpful, I didn't realise so many examples existed. The style of the documentary is quite dramatic (you know the kind, Channel 5 style for those in the UK) so the more extreme examples the better. Thanks again everyone! If I need some more help, I now know where to look!
  5. Hi everyone! I am a TV Production student at the University of Leeds (UK), and I'm just researching roller coasters in general, ie. the reasons people ride them (the psychology), how the industry competes for the 'ultimate' new ride etc. I have heard of a particular roller coaster that had a particular inversion that people found too intense and had to be removed or redesigned. Does anybody know which I'm talking about? (or maybe I have a false memory!) If anyone knows of any other rides that have had to be redesigned or even decommissioned because of their intensity, I'd be really interested to know about it! All the best, Chris
