  1. One of the best things I can suggest is re-doing the layout a bit- it isn't quite there. Verbolten, save for the 'theme building' follows almost the exact same layout of the Big Bad Wolf. Check the BGW thread for layouts, etc. that were posted about 9 months back, as you can see exactly where you need to reform the layout- and the lake, for that matter.

Otherwise, it looks good- especially the bridge. The most recent pics will help out on that as well.

  2. Excellent: I'm putting together the final version of the challenge right now- and will put CPM's thread in here once it is done- along with everything else needed in to get the game going.

The game itself will be loaded into the exchange tonight later on, so we can get people downloading it ASAP. It should be something interesting- as I'm limiting the scenery items a bit. The track download will be in the thread itself, so we can dump the original WingRider thread when done.

  3. I appreciate the effort they're making to "theme up" Apocalypse, particularly by fixing up the old Skull Mountain set. I just wish something other than Iron Wolf was going in there, but at least they're getting something.

SFA is the poster child for unrealized potential. I hope they stay on the right track.

I've felt this for a decade now: SFA (to me) has been the bastard at the family reunion, in a lot of ways like SFAW was earlier in its history. In many ways, I could see so much they could do with the park- both big and small- to really make it shine.

While Wolfpocalypse is a great addition (even if it IS used), the park has quite a bit more they could do with it, and really turn it into a gem of the chain. As SFoG has proven, it doesn't have to be bigger to be better, and the same thing could apply here. With some love, care and redevelopment, I could see this become a brighter part of the SF empire.

(Now, that does NOT include Mind Eraser... which I'd love to see replaced by a custom B&M invert...)

  4. That would be great, Matt- I've already started to cut the scenario and run it to see what needs to be changed on it. I should have the final version ready by tomorrow night or so (I'm recovering from first round surgery, so all I really have to do is sit on a pad all day...)

CPM will be posting up the wingrider track in a special post- then I'll merge that into the contest thread once it opens on Monday morning. I'd like to get everybody downloading the track and using it before we end up with 10,000 "where is it?" posts to the board.

I like the idea of using the MODS as judges; Is everybody up for this? I found it a lot easier to work with than the 'voting' threads which don't get a lot of attention. Also we really need to push this hard- so I'd like to do a mega-blast of everything: FB, Twitter, Front Page- as I think this could really, well, fly.

  5. Hearing the news that Sirocco/Turbine will be reborn/re-invented has added a little bit of joy to the year, making this the second Flywheel shuttle loop restoration worldwide in 2013.

And I don't know why the neighbours complain so much about it... I mean, i'd pay good money to buy a house where I could hear the sound of "CLUNKZZZZHHHHHEEEEEEWONK" every 75 seconds or so... I'd have no problem with it at all. Crazy neighbours just don't get it!

    Well, R.D. - it seems to me, that you are really a Hardcore-Schwarzkopf-Fan: That's amazing...I mean : -))

I've actually thought about approaching SFoG and buying the land in the middle of the MindBender... and building a house with a wrap-around porch/deck...

  6. OK: Here's the rub:

Parkitect (ja227) made the CTRs for the SkyRider for RCT II- however, I can't seem to locate the track-file; when I went onto rct2objectlist site, I couldn't download it.

Any ideas if there is a floating copy of that around here?

  7. Idea:

We post up the RCT II CTR for the wing rider... and then run with it as this:

You have been given XXXXX amount of money to build a new B&M Wingrider coaster. You must use only the money provided to build it.

I have a few extra 'scenarios' I've been playing with as of late to do so with.

  8. RCT II has a decent B&M Wingrider in it; even I have it- but seldom use it.

If we can get the CTR for it, I think this might be a winner, especially since everyone has gone nuts over it. I'd love to see a "Don't make it like the others" WR contest.

  9. ^Great, just move that fountain down a few units so it breaks up the large area of only path and maybe add some trees.

This was suppose to be a NE entry but I just could not get into it. I don't know why, I'm just not a fan. So I'll be starting another major park soon, does anyone want this layout and I'll PM them?

Or you could upload it to the exchange instead of just one person... (HINT HINT HINT)

  11. Sad to hear, but it is better than to see it sitting there dying.

I rode Comet back in the mid 80s, prior to the accidents that ended the parks' life, and other than it being very rough- I don't recall too much about it. The park itself had become a place for hoodlums to visit before/after getting stoned, and it had a seedy feel to it- that I recall clearly.

Goodbye to the Comet, may you ride on in memories.
