  1. Does anyone know if New Fantasyland will be open for people who did not get in on the Passholder Preview registration?

We are annual passholders and going to the park tomorrow and just want to know what to expect. I can't imagine there being THAT many AP's to warrant them closing it out to the GP for the entire day (especially now since they have lots of dates) but what do I know.

  2. We finally went for the first time last weekend ($25 tickets were are main draw, wasn't going to drop $70+ each for a family of 3). We have an 8 yr old daughter & enjoyed it. We'd go back (assuming we'd get discounted tickets). It's not he greatest thing since sliced bread, but the low crowds and the fact we haven't visited any other Lego park helps).

I too wonder who makes the venture out there from Orlando? I'm 40 minutes NE of Disney and it's still a good 30+ minutes south, and it just "feels" like a chore getting there.

I never see any advertising on TV or here any friends and family talk about it either, so I wonder what the long term viable of this place will be.

  3. plus Patriot is decent and has one of the best top-of-lift OMG views ever.

I don't remember there being much more than grass and a parking lot.

Yep. That is grass and a parking lot.

The point isn't the view straight ahead at the parking lot, it's the Tatsu-like way that the lift follows the contour of the land for quite some time, then just before you crest the hill, the land drops off into a valley, leaving the train a LOT higher up than expected. By the time you get around to looking down the drop, it's substantially bigger than expected.

Don't be hating on parking lots now

  4. Hilarious responses to this coaster. It will be interesting, that's for sure. I haven't ridden a wingrider yet so I cannot comment on how they ride, but hey, CP is getting another coaster. Look forward to riding this next year. Now if only they would replace Mean Streak...

Hopefully after OR opens to rave reviews, CP will ask RMC to do a TG redo of it and then we can call it the NMS.

  5. Is it a foregone conclusion that this will be a yearly event?

I would say that Deep South Bash would be a "regular" event we do, but not always going to be yearly. A lot of it depends on our tour schedules, new installations at the park, demand from the locals, etc...

    Hope that answers your question.

Kinda. We were planning a possible September visit this year. But if I knew lock stock and barrell you were doing this in 2013, I'd wait and visit another park on my never ending list

  6. Back in the day (10 years ago), nothing, but a couple of close calls on the B&M hypers and Xcelerator when it first opened.

Last year: couldn't fit on Wicked Twister and TTD (only 1x)

My friend would sit behind me, push on the fatty part of my hip and the ride op would just be able to get the seatbelt to click.

Planned on visiting SFoG at the end of September and SFoT at the end of October, so I think I could spare to drop a few inches all over to make sure.

  7. Just visited the park last weekend for the first time in 11 years. Was finally able to hit up the waterpark as well (though it was a madhouse).

Leave it to HW to have the most insane wooden coasters & water slides. Heck, even their little Dive show next to the Raven has the lady set herself on fire. Heaven forbid HW doesn't make something as simple and mundane that THRILLING.

I don't want to forget the best nail clipper I've ever used (for a mere $2.19 in the giftshop).

The local yokels who call this their homepark and don't visit other parks probably just take all these insane rides for granted. Little do they know the rest of the story (sure, Paul Harvey pun if that makes you feel better)

With so many other parks I have on the agenda for next year, I've said I'll only visit in 2013 if the Timberliners are on (or I win the lottery and money is not an issue). Voyage is insane, but by the end of the 2nd night my head felt like it had been through the meat grinder (in a good way). Body had no ill effects thankfully

  8. I had my first visit ever to Dollywood yesterday. I was quite impressed with the quality of everything at the park. What they lacked (which really isn't the right word honestly) in quantity they made up in quality. Wild Eagle was a lot of fun, but Thunderhead stole the show for me. I loved it. We rode it by far the most and ended the day with 5 or so rides on it.

Tennessee Tornado was the surprise of the trip. I was expecting to like it based on reports but was surprised how seriously intense the loop/sidewinder combo was. And the first loop is awkward in all the right ways. It was short, but no part was lacking.

Overall I was really happy with the trip and in the end we didn't get a Qbot and never waited more than 15 minutes for anything. The park wasn't very crowded at all and allowed us to ride all the major rides multiple times with Thunderhead the most with probably around a dozen rides. I would love to return again and rent one of those cabins with a group of people that you can see from the back of the park way up on the hill. They must have a seriously awesome view.

Nice. Link to where to inquire about one of those cabins ???

  9. (please don't kill me if these are answered elsewhere, just not in the mood to go through 302 pages of stuff right now, while trying to book a trip)

1 - any chance for a TPR Dollywood event this year? Wife and I were wanting to go in either September or October (but we are slightly flexible)

2 - Will be our first visit here, do we need more than 1 day?

3 - October 3 starts the gospel music events, so I would assume that it would be less crowded the weekend before this starts?

4 - since park closes early (6p-7pm), any chance for night rides ? (didn't know what time sundown was there)

5 - November they are open to 9pm alot, so night rides seem plentiful. But is the weather in this park of the world cooperate that all the coasters are running?

    Thanks for your help

  10. Since it looks like my original question got overlooked by a debate:

I'm going to Hershey for the first time this weekend, will be there tomorrow night for a few hours and then all day Saturday. What are somethings that I must do, aside from the coasters. I'm looking to have a general all around good time. Any suggestions would be great.

You mean INSIDE the park itself? I would say just the normal stuff and other rides they have that suit your liking. Non park related, the Zoo is okay if you are into that kinda thing & Chocolate World.

Let us know your opinions on Skyrush

  11. I'm just a B&M and GCI fan. The first one I didn't like was Maverick, I305 and now Sky Rush. It's the quick direction changes of the first two named at high speeds.

I'm hoping since I'm a CCI/Gravity Group & Intamin fan, all of this won't be an issue for me. I love the first drop in Maverick, it's so uttterly over the top. The only problem I have with the quick transitions on Maverick is the headbanging, otherwise, bring it on

And why didn't Hershey or Intamin notice this issue in testing or understand simple physics, that this contact point would be an issue with this much downward force going on ?

  12. I guess I have time to watch this, but hoping they don't trim Skyrush and just figure out a solution to the restraint. Was tentatively planning on going at the end of September.

And I know it's a totally different restraint, but me friend who is thinner and 1-2" taller than me, has the Maverick restraint dig down into his legs over the course of the ride and it kills him. YET it doesn't bother me one bit and never comes down onto my thighs. Must be since my belly prevents some of the downforce force.

Didn't know if this would be the same issue for Skyrush
