  1. Wow, tasty looking menu that! Especially with what's on offer from each of the countries, if I were there during that time, probably would spend at least a couple of hours just walking around, picking off a couple of things from each of the menu and trying them out. Did anyone that went, get to try anything from the Australian menu? And if so what did you think of it ? (Just curious .. I'm Australian and thought I'd throw it out there)
  2. G'day Robb & ernie ... Might as well get me checked out as well - Drew King (easy to spot as my display pic is that of a white tiger) hence my online nickname AuSSiETiG3R Love the posts, whenever something gets posted up I'm always checking my FB as to what it is and always looking forward to the next one .. I've always have respect for your site and am not here to cause trouble though .. Awesome 5 star work on the Blu-Ray DVD's by the way - popped one on my DVD player soon as I got them, cursing myself I don't have a surround sound system because it would have completely rocked! (but hey that's just me )
  3. Okay ... somebody please explain to me what the heck has happened to Dr Pepper?? Used to be full flavoured and stuff, but now it's all weak and watery and ... really it's like a former shadow of itself it's like as if the flavour's been completely sucked out of it! I remember the days when I was in America visiting my cousin, sitting on the dock of the canal in Corpus Christi sipping on a Dr Pepper soda .... ahhhhh now THOSE were the days when it tasted really nice ... Please ... bring back the Dr Pepper I used to know (Mind you I'm an Aussie .. and yes I absolutely LOVE this stuff!)
  4. Being halfway around the world, I've watched the old version of the Test Track quite a few times, and to be completely honest I did enjoy it. However with the new version, I was completely blown away with how good this ride looks now. Looks a bit more interactive, new theming, all of which would make you believe you've just stepped into the future of car testing. I would also tend to think with the effects within the ride, it's a nod to the movie TRON Legacy - to me it's just got that futuristic-y feel to it. So with that I would agree that even the "old school" version of the ride was great- the newer version has really impressed me - can't wait to ride it
  5. Awesome video, and some of those rides look absolutely amazing as well That's the first time that I've seen any videos of the new park, yeah once it's opened I'll probably end up heading out there to check it out.
  6. Coopers Sparkling Ale Nice beer from South Australia
  7. Hey all, Was thinking of saving up and flying over to the States to Orlando FL for a couple of weeks and going on a bit of a mini theme park tour. Any recommendations as to which ones? I've already got two set: WDW and EPCOT, but was also considering Busch Gardens, Animal Kingdom (Expedition Everest) or Sea World Orlando. Will also be travelling by myself, so would need an idea of some fairly inexpensive places to stay etc Oh and I'd take it most of you would have been on the Rock N Roller Coaster with Aerosmith at MGM Studios, just wondering what it's like because I was thinking of going on that ride as well.
  8. Not 100% sure but I think I saw an article that said that there were a few parks from overseas looking to buy it. Even RCDB doesn't have an update as to what happened with it so its whereabouts at present are unknown.
  9. Since most of this board is about theme parks over in America, I know Robb's done a bit of coverage on some of the ones here in Australia, I thought I'd share with you two that have since been closed and demolished. The first of these: Sega World Darling Harbour, where I spent a couple of years working firstly in their Rides department, then moving on to the Games department. The signature red cube and blue cone entrance of Sega World Darling Harbour. This park was opened in Sydney's Darling Harbour area in March 1997, and was labelled as "Australia's Interactive Disneyland" by the media, which contained a mixture of both rides and electronic arcade games. Sadly, due to below required attendance and constant financial losses, the Park doors closed for the final time in November 2000, after failing to attract the crowds they were hoping for during the Sydney Olympic Games Split into three distinctly themed areas, the Past, Present and Future, it only had seven rides. One of these was "Rail Chase", an indoor "mine car" rollercoaster built by Masago Industrial, with elaborate theming and special effects, with a twist - parts of the ride were in reverse. Rail Chase Entrance This ride, themed around the Angkor Wat Temple, started off as an interactive ride, whereby the rollercoaster itself took you on a journey through the forest and into the temple itself. Once inside your "water cannons" on the front of your "mine car" were put to good use to extinguish as many "flames" as possible. Towards the end, the theme of the ride changed, along with the story it portrayed to a non-interactive ride with a time-travel story behind it. The other rides that were here were: Ghost Hunters: An interactive "ghost train" where shooting as many ghosts, ghouls and spooks was the name of the game. Just one of the many movies that were showing at Magic Motion Theatre, seated in hydraulic chairs that moved in time with the movie being shown on screen. This one being Dino Island. Ahh Aqua Nova - Sega World's 3D ride. For racing car enthusiasts Indy 500, which was located directly across from Aqua Nova AS-1 - An interactive space ride. Mad Bazooka - Dodgem cars with cannons mounted on them, drive over balls laid out over the arena floor and shoot them at the targets on the top of the cars. I've also included a clip that I found on Youtube that showcases some of the rides that I haven't mentioned in here. If you've got any questions - feel free to post them
  10. They look quote cool actually As for the finger scanning I think it's going to be more for an ID thing. How so? It'll more than likely be used to stop anyone from entering the park with a stolen pass. If Robb's got that pass registered under his name, he scans his finger, next time he enters the park it will recognize who he is. Say then if I borrowed the pass and tried to get in, scan my finger - that ball will probably turn red (that's what I'm guessing that thing on the side is for) In short it's a security measure possibly to stop people with stolen passes from getting in - maybe ??
  11. G'day all from Sydney Australia I'm Andrew, a current rollercoaster enthusiast, have been on quite a few in the past few years, mostly here in Australia. Whilst on Youtube browsing around some of the rollercoasters, I came across the themeparkreview link, watched a few and thought "gee this looks fairly awesome", subscribed to it and have been following ever since. However I've never been on any rollercoaster that has any form of inversion in it, but yet I've looked at a couple (namely Rock N Rollercoaster & Manta) and thought "yeah wouldn't mind getting on those one day" ..
