  1. Went to the park yesterday. I haven't gone in about a year but it was interesting. To start off with the positive stuff, Bug Bunny World looked really good! I'm happy they brought some life in to that area once again! The FT Plaza got some fresh paint and looked really good as well. I must say, the FT Nights show was actually a really fun show! They had some great bands and it was just something cool to watch when you're waiting in line for FT. Operations throughout the park weren't amazing but they were bearable. Lines weren't over 45 minutes throughout the park and it was a decent day. Random note but there was this one employee at that candy shop near Apocalypse and he was probably the most friendly employee at the park. He was extremely nice and it was really cool meeting him. I wish I got his name though.

I have alot of negative/nit picky stuff but I'm not going to go in to that. The park has just really gone down hill. Overall a very 'meh' day.

  2. Totally off topic of the current subject, but still somewhat awesome.

Have any of you guys heard of the YOLOcoaster VIP tour contest for high school students? I entered it a while back in August and last night, I actually got an email saying that I won! I'm pretty stoked. One hour of ERT on YOLOcoaster and a back stage tour, also get to get into the park before opening, which is pretty cool. I'm excited as this is my first theme park event that I will ever go to. I just hope its "better then nothing."

Yeah I got the same email! I'm pretty excited!

  3. The day we have all been expecting has come! One train operation on YOLOcoaster!!!!!

So this morning as the park opened the ride was closed and it looked like they were having a problem with one or both of the trains. I went and rode other rides (with no wait) and around noon I walked back to YOLO plaza. One train was running normally and the other train was on the transfer (with NOBODY working on it or trying to fix it). The queue under the canopy (still not done yet) was full and they were advertising a 90-120 minute wait. I guess when they figured out that one train wasn't working properly that it opening with one train would be better than nothing.

Good news is that Goliath had 2 trains running (but the 3rd train was nowhere to be found in the area).

So yeah, they made it a little over a month before what we all knew was going to happen happened.

There was a problem with a specific part on the train. The other one will eventually go on the transfer track for a day or two here soon to get a replacement part.

  4. I understand that there are significant flaws in the way Six Flags Magic Mountain conducts itself, but come one! A theme park with 18 roller coasters and a series of world record holding/holders, I think we're being way too harsh. I'd love to live near a Six Flags Magic Mountain. Instead, the nearest roller coaster to me is a old wooden wild mouse 300kms away. The likes of Superman, Tower of Terror II, Arkham Asylum and so on are over 1100kms away! I think some of you are perhaps taking Six Flags for granted... I agree there are some improvements that could/should be made, but please, see it from my perspective where Six Flags Magic Mountain has more roller coasters than the whole of Australia put together!

Sure but with cruddy operations and poor employees, it kinda ruins the whole experience. And living near the park after awhile, you just get tired of the cruddy operations.

  5. Went to the park today. Plenty of line jumping from summer camp kids and their camp counselors were just letting it happen, Full Throttle had a 5 minute wait around 2PM, the ride-operator at Sandblasters was horrendously slow being distracted on his cell phone, and Revolution is in bad shape. Seriously, there was duct-tape holding the queue together. I think Revolution should be the next ride to get a rehab. Overall, not the best day at the park, not the worst.

Also saw 3 stilt walkers. One being a Parrot maybe, another from the Lion King Musical, and a Pirate.

  6. ^ omg those candles on your arms look HUGE, lol!

Was it hard to work with them?

Good show for you, in doing so.

At first, yeah they were pretty hard! I have spaghetti arms so I was happy I was able to get through the 6 shows we did. Inside the candles are just little light switches but it was hard turning it on and off because I had to hold on to a small metal bar inside. It was really fun though!

  7. I recently played the role of Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast for this community theatre program. The candles were heavy but so fun to use during the show. And the costumes were incredible! We didn't rent anything, our costume designers made over 400 costumes. It was a pleasure playing the role. I think this show went up to being my 4th favorite musical.
