  1. I was there this past weekend (Friday, Saturday, left Sunday morning) as well. Overall, it was a blast. Lines were great Friday night (as usual) and shorter on Saturday when we compared them to going last October. We did Magnum, TTD, and then Magnum two more times in a half hour starting around 11. The new band on the midway was pretty great. Definitely a nice addition this year. The outdoor haunts were definitely weaker this year. It's probably all related to staffing but I still took note of them: - Bayou was a favorite of ours for the past 3 years and this year a good chunk of lighting was out and there was a noticeable lack of "screamsters". Also, a lot of standing around and no attempts to scare us or groups around us. Weakest one by far this year. - Trail of the Forsaken was short when the previous haunts (Screamworks and Fright Zone) went the full length of Frontier Trail. The regular screamsters (which there were plenty of) weren't doing much at all but the sliding ones and one with the horn were on their game. - Harvest Fear was alright. It never stuck out to us too much in the past but it's fun one that doesn't need many staff to make it good thanks to all the booths to look at (even if they only take 5 seconds of our time). - Tombstone Terror-tory was fun. A lot of fun interactions even if they weren't scaring us. (No sir, we don't want to buy your horse!) - Cut Throat Cove...wow. Simply the best this year. In past years it was pretty average but this year, every single screamster was on point. My group (5 of us) got "spooked" a good 3 times each, every time we went through. - Skipped CornStalkers since we only saw one screamster last year and there was a line this year. Paired with the obvious staffing issues, skipping seemed like a good idea. Well worth the trip and we'll probably do HalloWeekends in September again next year, maybe the second weekend though. Probably won't do late October again.
  2. Small update on the Guardians coaster, it looks like the track from Vekoma is inbound based off of these publicly available documents: https://panjiva.com/Walt-Disney-Imagineering/10302364 The installation permit (click "I Acknowledge" to view the permit): http://or.occompt.com/recorder/eagleweb/downloads/20180406836.pdf?parent=DOC2421S6651 Adena is the company that "installed" Slinky and Saucers at DHS. We should see the coaster itself go vertical soon.
  3. I always wear my glasses with a strap on any coaster and certain flats when I'm in any park. To ask me to stick my glasses into a pocket wouldn't go over well with me at all. My wallet and phone go into separate cargo pockets and I know how smashed they get on some rides so i can only imagine how bent up or damaged my glasses would be. But hey if they're willing to give me $300 for a pair of new glasses and drive me home (2 1/2 hours away), sure! I'll wait to see if this becomes a concrete policy before actually flipping a table.
  4. The only truly "bad' Halloweekend is Columbus day weekend.... once the haunts start that'll bring some of the wait down for the rest of the night. Good luck with that. Columbus Saturday typically hits the record, but Saturdays in October are not a fun time. FP+ is needed if you want to ride any big rides and have any sanity left. I've actually been going to Halloweekends the weekend after Columbus day weekend for the past 5 years and this is my first September trip. Saturdays do suck but the way I've done it is to take advantage of the early entry on Saturday and ride until noon since the waits start to get high around then, head back to the concierge room and snack out for a while. Then we'd just walk around to see what (if anything) was less then an hour till 4/5ish then get dinner. And finally head back out around 7/8ish, hit the "spooky" trails/walk around, then the crowds thinned out (hour or less waits) around 10pm and hit anything that would be worth it.
  5. I doubt I'll need it. The only truly "bad' Halloweekend is Columbus day weekend. Friday will get us on a bunch of rides, we'll have an hour before it opens on Saturday, and then once the haunts start that'll bring some of the wait down for the rest of the night.
  6. Looks like I'm stuck going the opening Halloweekends this year thanks to my wonky schedule combined with my friends vacations around that time. At the very least, I can expect to get a crap ton of rides in on Friday. Looking forward to SV!
  7. You need to disable the Game DVR/Game bar. It's a feature in Windows 10: https://www.howtogeek.com/273180/how-to-disable-windows-10s-game-dvr-and-game-bar/ I'd just disable everything under "Gaming" in W10. That should stop the pop-up.
  8. I'm more curious to see what will happen with relationships like the one Disney has with Vekoma. That relationship has helped Disney produce some of the best rides we've seen at their parks yet (Expedition Everest, Tron, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, etc) and a change in owners could impact that. We shall see... I think it's safe to add the Guardians coaster to that list as well. We don't know that for sure. Remember, Disney did NOT go with Vekoma for their most recent coaster. Pretty well regarded insiders have confirmed it will be Vekoma. I know it's not official, but unless Disney decides to drop the work they're having Vekoma do and start over with someone else then it's pretty certain. https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/guardians-of-the-galaxy-attraction-confirmed-for-epcot.929265/page-179#post-8032740 https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/guardians-of-the-galaxy-attraction-confirmed-for-epcot.929265/page-220#post-8123320 I put zero stock in any of the Disney fan sites and rumors. They are wrong most of the time. And, to be honest, I laughed out loud at your "Pretty well regarded insiders" statement! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! That right there is s funny crap! Well, to name a few recent things: these are the insiders that knew Avatar was happening a year before the announcement. They knew the ride systems and capacity per hour as well. They said the Speedway wasn't going away well before Tron was announced for MK while every other Disney site was saying it was. And right now, they've mentioned to expect a Gringotts-type ride for the Guardians coaster but without show stops after the launch, heavy possibility of Mary Poppins to the UK Pavilion, and the Brazil pavilion is still moving slowly. Oh and a pre-1994 styled Tomorrowland which is finally getting underway now, over a year and half after they first mentioned it. All of this well before everyones favorite clickbaiter/news stealer gets it. They've been pretty right for several years so I think it's fair to trust them. But that's where I stand and I get that everyone else won't.

  11. Rumor has it that what we're looking at will be first used on GotG at Epcot (the ride system obviously, not the layout).
  12. Insiders have said that the plan for AK transportation is looking to be something else. Not monorail, not SkyLiner, not bus so people have been thinking some form of rail/light rail or a peoplemover style system. It would be odd if they didn't expand the SkyLiner system but who knows. They said the plans are pretty far off for AK transit. I know I still want a walking path from AKL to AK.
  13. It's official: https://www.wdwmagic.com/resorts/walt-disney-world-resorts-information/news/14mar2018-disney-to-begin-charging-for-overnight-self-parking-at-its-walt-disney-world-resort-hotels.htm - Disney Value Resorts: $13 per night - Disney Moderate Resorts: $19 per night - Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts: $24 per night - Complimentary standard parking is available to Guests staying at the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Each campsite provides parking space for one (1) motorized vehicle.
  14. UK ride is rumored as Mary Poppins currently but it's in flux like Coco to the Mexico pavilion. From the sounds of it, it would be equal to a C ticket. So basically, Alice in DL.
  15. Only about half of the actual ride building. Hard to believe but there was going to be more. This has been confirmed by numerous insiders and this site shows what could've been. http://www.imagineeringdisney.com/blog/2012/2/17/rhine-river-cruise-mysteries.html You can add the Main Street Theater to that list as well. Construction equipment was setup and then quietly removed.
  16. Edit: Link Removed. Please do not ever link to that site again. Thank you. I completely understand. I know on another forum they are a banned source. I wasn't aware they were banned here as well. I personally can't stand the guy either.
  17. I'm still waiting for the dumpster fire that is the Coasters Drive in to be replaced with some that can serve something decent. $11 for a crap burger when I can leave the park and go to McD's and get something with better quality is sad. At least the cooks screwed up my friends order and he got double fries. The other changes sound good though. Curious about the replacement for Famous Daves.
  18. I'd double check your drivers and update to the latest Intel has. I wouldn't expect very good performance though, you have below the recommended CPU (yes it boosts to 2.9 but it'll probably throttle eventually due to heat) and Intel graphics are not what you want for gaming. You'll probably have a similar experience to this if you do get it to run: http://steamcommunity.com/app/301320/discussions/0/1471967615886928923/ And these seem to be the latest drivers available for the 6000 series GPU: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27267/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=80939
  19. It's just a refurb. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2018/01/main-street-u-s-a-vehicles-and-dumbo-the-flying-elephant-at-disneyland-park-to-begin-updates-jan-8/
  20. You have Coastercrazy, Steam Workshop, and a couple smaller sites that I don't remember the name of. Did you buy NL2 through Steam? If not, register it on there. The Workshop is a easy way to add coasters, rides, assets, and parks. Oh and automatic updates for NL2 and anything you got from the Workshop are a plus as well.
  21. What the...? The article at Theme Park Tourist can be dismissed. That's not the case. Trusted insiders have stated that while the "train cars" are inspired by GMR, they are not from GMR at all. The "trains" will be 4 (small, not GMR) cars long plus the engine. The old ride system was scrapped. There's a new layout that will use about 85% (I believe was the stated amount) of the current GMR space and will run 5-6 minutes. The story seems to line up with what's been stated though.
  22. One of the trusted insiders mentioned a couple days ago to expect intensity between Big Thunder Mountain and Gringotts. Take what you will from that.
  23. it's a HELL of a lot of fun, but be warned, you might want to wear earplugs if you have them = that horn is LOUD. check it out ~55 seconds into this clip (and yeah, I hate that it's filmed vertical too). [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Only 5 seconds of horn? When it "returned" a couple years ago, I swear that horn would be a solid 30 seconds. We went around a bunch of times before it stopped It was obnoxious.
  24. It wasn't too bad and then suddenly BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. It's honestly pretty fun though.
  25. So how about that theater? It's apparently circling around that it's been cancelled.
