I don't understand. Speed slides have been around for years now and I've never heard of these types of injuries occurring. Having said that: OUCH!

Noise is not reduced ... at all.
I hope the engineers thought of this. This ride still is an awesome idea and I love the fact that it uses an existing structure, but I like my hearing more.

^^ If They didn't think of this they better start. Now, SM:EFK did get new carts recently and a fresh paint job. I would think that this has reduced the noise but I can't say since I haven't been to SFMM In around 3 years.

S:EFK leaves a good 30-50 feet between it and the actual top of the ride (Where the drop towers will be located) so unless the car is rising and S:EFK is running (Which I doubt it, they'll probably have a schedule or put mufflers on) when you're at the top it won't come close.
God I hope they do. And it's not the top of the ride where it's loud, but that @!@$ bend! So if you're getting towed up when that happens your ears will bleed.

If you're on this ride while SM:EFK launches, you'll go deaf in one ear (depending on which side you're on). It does look sweet though.

Getting rid of Goliath would be a big mistake since it is one of the better rides. And regarding sprucing up the park, I've always believed the park could "use a fresh coat of paint" so to speak.
