  1. I think worrying about how to get your kid to ride roller coasters when he's 7 months might be getting a little ahead of yourself. My two boys turn 1 on Monday, and this really isn't something that's even crossed my mind. We're taking the mto Disney World in August, and quite frankly, I'm just going to let them dictate what they're interested in seeing. Which may not be much of anything at all.

One of my boys is fearless, the other is a bit trepedatious about things. So each of them we have to approach completely differently.

I didn't ride my first roller coaster until I was about eight. My parent's didn't push me. They just waited until I asked if I could go on it (The Whizzer at SFGAm). After that, I wanted to ride them all!

  2. I'd say this is a great first PTR, especially of a park that doesn't get a lot of love here.

I hit Valleyfair twice in two years awhile back. Once, was obviously for Renegade. I liked the park but is was very hodge podgy and didn't have much of a flow, and I thought the kids area was terrible. Camp Snoopy looks awesome, and hopefully it'll be a draw away from MOA as well.

  3. I started playing in third grade......yikes, that's about 1986! Played all the way through high school in concert band and marching band, played in a couple of garage bands here and there. I've also helped out a few friends lay down studio tracks every so often. Then I met a guitar player and a bass player looking for a drummer locally....

I've been playing in that band for almost three years now. I had the pleasure of "borrowing" my guitar player's Yamaha Stage Custom from the late 80's for most that time. I finally bit the bullet a few weeks ago, and bought my own kit. It's a Mapex M-Birch. I got the entire set, the hardware and gig bags for $500!

    22" Kick

    10, 12, 13 and 16" toms (the 13 and 16 shown below).

I'm using the Stage Custom snare, as the Mapex one sounds like a wet noodle. It needs some work.

Cymbals (I rotate around, as I'm a cymbal whore):

    14" Zildjian Quick Beats or

    14" Zildjian New Beat (1980's)

    14" Zildjian A Fast Crash

    16" Zildjian Medium Thin Crash

    18" Paiste Twenty Full Crash

    18" Zildjian K EFX

    18" Zildjian A Custom EFX

    21" Zildjian A Sweet Ride

19" Paiste Rude Crash/Ride (of which it does neither well)

    18" Wuhan China

    10" Zildjian A Splash

    Here it is:

  4. My Grandfather had a Monte Carlo exactly like that except in Mint Green. I still remember the white vinyl top. I think it was his last Chevy, except for the 78 Nova my Grandmother drove. He then went over to Cadillacs from then on out....except the Buick he bought right before he passed away. Man, he loved big cars!

  5. ^ Bumgarner only gave up 2 hits..Against the Dodgers, 1 more than yu. way more impressive in my book. we all have our own opinions.

And being from nor*cal, and obviously a Giants fan, your opinion is biased on them.

I don't care who it's against, anytime anyone gets that close to a no-no, it's impressive. Even the worst rosters still have guys that can hit, and guys that do not want to be no hit.

  6. Started Hitman:Absolution a week ar so ago.

God I love that series. The controls got a bit knocked around, and blasted in reviews, but it still works well. I like it, and the story is awesome now that Agent 47 has gone rogue.

  7. OK, quick curiosity question here. I have recently dived into the world of RCT3 custom content and I am impressed by what can be done. I've got a new project that I've been working on (which I'll make a thread for soon) which uses some custom scenery and rides. Now, I know it is proper etiquette to include a list of custom content, but (and here is my question) does the list have to be everything I have INSTALLED on my computer, or only what I actually USED in the park?

    Only what is used.

  8. Anyone that's visited SFGAm and has hung out with me know that there are two places I'm going to make you go to after a day at the park:

Mickey Finn's - Your typical brewpub menu, with some additional items. The Irish Egg Rolls are awesome, as are the pizzas, and the burgers. Best of all, it's a micro brewery run by my dear friend Greg Browne. Awesome brews all year round, which change month to month. He still makes the best Hefeweizen I've ever had. It's straight south down Milwaukee Avenue.

Firkin - This is my higher end choice, as the food is a wee bit more expensive. Top notch food, and the beer list that rivals The Map Room in downtown Chicago. Constantly changing beer menu, so you'll never know what may be on tap....unless you like them on FB or Twitter.

Same deal as Mickey Finn's, straight south on Milwaukee Avenue.

Again, these are for after going to the park, not a lunch stop. It's a good fifteen minutes away, if traffic is good.
