  1. You were right, you have a lot of pictures! Nice TR. I work two blocks from the Sears Tower, I wish I knew you were coming.
  2. ^ I don't think anyone is doubting you personally. There seems to be a ton of 18 and under posters responding that they are "in" for a trip. You have to be logical, most of them are not going to get to go because of money, parental units not letting them go, or possibly not getting the go ahead from the Alveys.
  3. ^ Great Lakes is certainly available, I can get in Chicago, they better have it in Indiana. ^^ Try Bell's, they're from Michigan. Oberon is their better brew. Just check the bottles, some of their unfiltered stuff is really unfiltered. You almost have to sift it before pouring. Skip it if it looks like there's a beach at the bottom of the bottle. Three Floyd's is quite tasty as well, they're from Munster. Pale Ale and Pride & Joy are my two favorites from there.
  4. ^ Does Independence have a frequent buyers card???? Looking forward to the Three Floyds report.
  5. ^ I'm sensing a trend in Derek's responses today......it's all about the beer. They certainly look tasty. I never pass up a cheese stick.
  6. It's open down there too. Very nice TPR. It must of taken a ton of time to post all those pics.... Way too much poundage.
  7. My first year we had a suitemate that didn't throw his trash out. He had pizza boxes to the ceiling, dirty laundry everywhere and garbage oveflowing into the hall. He'd disappear for days and his homies would randomly come in and hang in his room while he was gone(he left his door unlocked all the time). That was creepy. Second year we had a guy that was way unbalanced. He'd get mad and start yelling and hitting himself with stuff. That was weird.
  8. ^ Scary, I was typing the same thing.
  9. Very true. Considering I peruse the Beer thread the most, I might be considered scary.
  10. Another fine TPR by the RoadTripper! I have to admit, the manducks scare me....kind of like how clowns scare me.....
  11. And considering you have to be 18 or older or with a guardian to be on the trip, that shouldn't matter.
  12. Hands down, Villian at GL. Ugh, I still get headaches just thinking about that ride.
  13. Do the girls come with it?
  14. You're right. My wife saw a report on ABC that said they're made to last four years!
  15. Ah, nice and humid here. the perfect time for a workout followed by a Berghoff Soltice Wit. Nice flavor and light and zesty. I'm being daring, but not as daring as Derek, as I sport a sleeveless t-shirt. Grrr. I'm gorgeous! Berghoff, America's second oldest brewery. Ahh the perfect summer brew.
  16. Well, Helloooooo Kiiitty!
  17. As usual, another Derek (plus Nicole) TPR I found fun and somewhat informative to read. I know I'll probably never make it to these parks so, it's cool to see them. On a side note, it's been pretty cool to see two people meet like Derek and Nicole have on this board. I met my wife drunk and happy at the World's Biggest Block Party so, who knows what may happen!
  18. ^ Actually, I did it for 327 days out. That's as far as American will let you do it. Obviously, prices are not going to reflect what they will be when the trip is announced officially. I was just trying to figure out how bad it was, as I had heard cost from O'hare to Cinci was ridiculously overpriced all the time. If I can't afford the flight, there's no point in trying to get on the trip....right??? Good news, is I can afford the flight so, I just have to get my money in line and in on time.
  19. Another swap with my baseball buddy. This time I got a Lake Front Fuel Cafe. It's a coffee flavored stout.....my first thought was, a real "Buzz Beer." I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Yuck....I think the over carbonation did this one in. Nice dark color.....once again a Lake Front with no head...wierd.
  20. If I recall, the park was to be heavily themed on America's history. Much of the first artist renderings were of the Civil War era, which didn't go over well. Protests were more about the nature of the park and how certain eras were going to be "presented." I've got some of the artist renderings in a Imagineering book....somewhere.... I thought the idea would be cool, not sure if it would draw alot of people and the choice for development area was poor.
  21. I've emailed Robb, just in case I'm putting this post up as interest in the Midwest trip. My wife has even Ok'ed it (I'd be going alone). I couldn't price flights that far in advance but American (hardly cheap) roundtrip flights from O'Hare to Cinci were $362. Odd pricing says I....
  22. I loved Steel Venom. The first three rides (back in June) were smooth and fast. The holding break was not bad at all. The last ride was a little rougher on the holding break. I've only been on two Impulses (V2 at SFGAm and SV), but I thought this one was much better.
  23. As I'm on the otherside (I still play in a men's 28-38 year old league), I give props to you guys in that gear and in the heat. Of course, I give catchers props too. I hope your zone in more consistant than some of the guys we've been getting lately.
  24. No drinking for me this past weekend. Surgery to fix a ruptrued ear drum..... I did, however, go to the local alcohol store and stocked up. $100 bucks later and many brews calling my name! Including some Lagunitas, which had not been in stock before!
  25. Wow, back in June there was no one there. Even Wildwater Kingdom was pretty empty. Although that was where most of the crowd was. I loved Dominator, the last section was rough though. Too fast through the turnaround a corkscrews. It was the only part where I got headbanged. Glad I got my Steel Venom credit in June!
