  1. I hope ours melts soon. We've discoved that our car has a leak, moisture is freezing to the inside of the windows of the car. Scraping ice off the inside of your windows is a joyess event. And you can't end a post with a "middle name" like that. You must explain! Matt " " Jacobs
  2. ^ They stopped distributing Bell's here in Chicago. Tis a shame, Oberon was a great beer. Last night was our company Holiday party at the Leg Room. I drank way too many Coronas (which were fruited - broke a Man Law). And finished the night with a Fat Tire at Butch McGuire's. After that, I pulled a Derek at Oktoberfest, and have no recollection of what I did. Free beer = trouble for me.
  3. I will say that Chicago gets the main streets plowed and cleared fast and really well. The side streets, not so much. Our street looks like a warzone right now, and it will until it all melts. Streets and Sanitation can take weeks before they finally feel like working the neighborhoods. I love Evanston, it's a city within a city. The downtown is awesome. Thanks Cam!
  4. I rode Villian this summer. It was horrendous. I seriously thought I was going need an extra dose of pain killers after the ride. It's #1 on my worst ride list right now. This is actually good news.
  5. My Christmas Tree thong.
  6. I forgot how high up that first loop was. Ahh memories......of course I remember SFGAm without the Eagle, Shockwave, Batman, Iron Wolf, V2, Deja Vu, etc... What the heck was over in that corner before Condor and Shockwave/S:UF????
  7. Still one of my favorite videos from TPR. Glad to see the guy fixed the giving credit portion pretty quick. That's all I ask, just give the videos credit to where credit it due.
  8. ^ I love getting you all riled up about USC. It's so easy. Central Michigan is a top notch program......
  9. As I was just up there (check my PTR), I'm trying to figure out how this would fit. Stuff has got to be coming out. The place is packed already. This will make my annual trip up there even more enjoyable! It's one of the few places where my wife can go shopping and I can go ride. Wife and husband happy at a mall = priceless!!!
  10. Weird, we were there the same time last year too. With the news release Robb posted, this will be a much more exciting trip in the coming years! This is second hand from my friend that lives there so, it may not be totally correct as he's not a coaster or theme park enthusiast. He said Mall of America couldn't come to an agreement on the use of the Peanuts characters, so all the theming was taken down. Obviously, I'm sure there's more to it, like Joe stated. CF dropped running it and the Peanuts gang went with them.
  11. Wow, a PTR with the word precipice and Robb's ass in it.... Nice picks Joe, looks like you had fun. Even if you didn't get any.
  12. 09/02/06 at Arkansas 09/16/06 vs. Nebraska 9/23/06 at Arizona 09/30/06 at Washington State 10/07/06 vs. Washington 10/14/06 vs. Arizona State 10/28/06 vs. Oregon State 11/04/06 at Stanford 11/11/06 vs. Oregon 11/18/06 vs. California 11/25/06 vs. Notre Dame 12/02/06 at UCLA Yeah this schedule is soooo much tougher......
  13. ^ Awesome. Way to dig up this thread....
  14. Unless they involve some sort of Eve. And every third Tuesday.
  15. ^ Being from Chicago, I always forget about the other one. Although I can't see it getting shipped all the way out there. So call me a fool. It won't be the first time, and it certainly won't be the last.
  16. Shockwave was awesome for a few years. If you rode the last couple, you came off with a splitting headache. It just had gotten way too rough. There were a few times I got off and saw stars it had gotten so bad. Do I miss it, yes. But the early years when in ran nice and smooth. SUF is a decent replacement. SFGAm at least has a lot of variety in their coasters, which makes it a nice park to go too.
  17. Mike, Since you haven't posted much (only 15 posts) so I'm going to go easy on you.... Look around and see how other people post....our members don't treat each other like this. Please don't be rude and disrespectfull to others. It doesn't make for a thriving community, and you can still get your point across without being an a$$. If this continues, you're stay here at TPR will be VERY short as Elissa and I will NOT put up with our members having this kind of attitude. Thanks for your understanding! --Robb Thanks Robb. I guess I should have been more specific in my first post. GREAT AMERICA is not run by Cedar Fair.....Why it was in the list made no sense. Silly me, I'm a fool. Although the park is nice, I can't say it'd be missed. I have a lot of family within a a couple miles of it, and they never go. It's been a dying park for years. They do have some nice coasters that deserve to be moved to parks that will get them more face time with the public. Please scrap Villian though...that ride blows.
  18. ^ It depends on the time of year. I typically go in the winter when no one's there. It's worth the stop, and you can get some shopping done too (no sales tax on clothing).
  19. MJHammer, first problem with your post, you name non-Cedar Fair Parks. It's certainly not going to any of those, as the article said. I rode X-Flight this summer. I was not impressed. Ops were horrible and the ride was just OK. I can see GL turning into a water park more than anything. Wildwater Kingdom was packed while the Park side was empty. It's sad though, as I really enjoyed the park.
  20. ^ You're right. Silly me! The Mighty Axe was running. Although everytime I've gone the crew is really slow at loading and unloading, thus the boring picture.
  21. My wife and I headed up to Minneapolis this past weekend to visit friends. Originally, we intended on hitting Leinenkugel's and Summit, but Summit's tours were booked through December. Capital Brewing in Madison, makes an awesome amber ale, but their tours didn't start until 4 PM, which didn't fit our schedule. In any case we swung into Chippewa Falls, WI to check Leinenkugel's out. We were greeted with a great little town, a fabulous building for the swag and tours, and a great tour. We were the only two on the hour long tour, which gave us a lot more time looking at things and asking questions. Leinie's has never been on of my favorites, but the tour was well worth it, and the incredible history behind the brewery is awesome. Berryweiss, screams foofoo. But oh so tasty. The wife gives my Creamy a thumbs up.....that came out wrong.... Me likes the Creamy Dark. Very smooth. The wife samples Sunset Wheat. Leinie's Seasonal that went mainstream. I've always loved Leinie's Taps. SWAG!!! You're greeted with a great rustic fireplace. Welcome to Leinie's Lodge. Home of great swag and free samples!
  22. Once a year my friend and his wife invite us up to the great Northlands for a pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving meal. Fun is had by all and much food is comsumed in this warm up meal, and more importantly, I get a morning at Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America. Or so I thought. The good news is that we go up on Northwest Airlines employee apreciation day, which is, of course where my friend works. Because of this, I'm the lucky recipient of a half off coupon for unlimited rides, as he's a thrill ride weenie. On our way over he informed me that the Mall couldn't secure the rights to the Peanuts characters, so all Peanuts related goodness has been taken down from the park. Well, sort of. There's still remanents, like the Kites in the swing ride, and some random fonts on signs. They cleaverly named the park.....The Park at Mall of America. How original. A milestone was reached on this trip, as I had miscounted my credits and thought Expedition Everest was credit 40....oh well, Timberland Twister would have to do. No trims, which made it a forceful, fun ride. Anyway, on to the pictures. The Mighty Axe. World's Largest Gingerbread house in the making. Vikings wins get you a free ride. Not too many this year. Treetop Tumbler was an interesting ride. Paul Bunyan is not an acceptable amount of wetness. No donkey....Yeti Ball???? My friend and wife....no thrill having weenies. Timberland Twister = Credit 40 Longer train? Ripsaw or Shamu???? There's a lot of stuff crammed in here. At least the nicely themed swings are still there. No more Snoopy
  23. Wait, where's Yeti Ball?????
  24. LOL!! "Hooray for panning for gold."
