Geauga Lake Discussion Thread

Cedar Point is pretty well known. They don't do a ton of advertising, but I'd say we know it's there. SFGAm pretty much takes over the airwaves starting in March. Again, why is this thread still going???? And why can't I keep away? -

You know what I think sucks? That this thread actually is 26 pages long. X-Flight is a so-so coaster which was removed from a below average park. Why is it getting this much attention???? -
^ To prison??? I'm so confused....

So now all the parks are supposed to cater to enthusiasts? I think we make up a small percentage of the overall attendance at the parks. It's all about the mighty dollar, not making us happy. -
The Bears Defense was just as good as Baltimore's up until Mike Brown and Tommie Harris went down. Mike Brown is the glue of the secondary, too bad he can't stay healthy. The Bears defense has a chip on their shoulder, which is nice to see. The last few weeks of the season you could see them really just going through the motions. Last week was what we watched the first 7 games of the year. Our offense is always questionable. I don't think you're giving them enough credit. They put up points when they need to and Robbie Gould makes scoring drives all that much shorter. This isn't the Bears of '03 and '05 where we had absolutely no offense. We've got the best O-line and two running backs that ran for 1,800 yards. You're all haters.

Wally, how easy was Great Lakes to find? Our friends in Cleveland told us it wasn't easy or a nice area. From your picture, it looks ok to me. They're not beer people, so I think they were trying to keep me away.

If someone picked Rex over Peyton, they must have been hit over the head with a blunt object. I'm not a huge fan of Rex, but when he plays smart the team wins. End of story, he's 15-3 and he's only played in 24 games.

^ Yeah, just like all the experts predicted the Saints and the Seahawks the week before. You're all correct, the Bears have no chance....they're only the best team in the NFC, with the best defense and an average offense, which by the way actually outscored the Colts for the year. But you're all correct...this game is over already......

That will be silly, who are you going to root for? The Bears or the AFC team? That's easy, the Saints Muhahahahahahaha!!!!

^^ Totally agree Robb. There hasn't been a big enough Disney "classic" hit to feature a ride of. I'm just feeling like everything has to have Pixar tie in when it's not necessary. Was Nemo really needed for The Living Seas? Sea Base Alpha could of still been contemporary with a bit of face lift in technology and paint. Cars will fit in nicely, I think. I like the tie with Route 66 it would make sense. Throwing Pixar characters all over and into areas they don't have much of a tie in is getting on my nerves. What do Buzz and Woody have to do with Tomorrowland? Or Mike and Scully? At least Stitch is an alien. In down with the use of the money making characters, I'd like to see Disney put them to use in more creative ways, and in ways that fit into the themed areas. I think that's my beef with the POTC remake of the island. I just don't see it fitting in at the Magic Kingdom's Frontierland and Liberty Square areas. As for Pixar, you are correct. Disney really hasn't had any real animated blockbusters or live action films to tie rides in with. Although my favorites have always been the rides with no ties to movies. Like BTMRR, HM, SM, the Jungle Cruise.

I play basketball two times a week, and work out. I've always been a gym rat. Typically, by this time of the year I've injured myself somewhat seriously. I can check that off my list again, two years in a row I've thrown my back out.

OK, you tow have been hanging out way too much. This is like the fourth post in row where you're both drinking the same thing on the same night. All fear Derek, he has beaten down his mortal foe! I'd be drinking, but once again, I threw my back out.....as much as I love pain killers, I miss my beer.

Wow, you're Dad covered the opening of EPCOT Center 25 years ago. Bet those contacts are real good, especially ones that have been off a project that ended pretty much 23 years ago. Not too mention Imagineers and marketing people don't exactly run around telling everyone what's up. Did your cousin write a letter telling Disney Imagineers that they should bring Figment back too? Meh....

I always thought posting after Wes was weird. After this new insight, suddenly my universe has come unaligned.....

The joys of the American legal system. You can demand any amount.....no matter how ludicris it is. -
^ I was going to say the same thing about SFGAm and the Dells. I'd do one day at SFGAm, then drive up to the Dells (about 2 hours) hit both parks stay the night, and head back down to SFGAm for another day. Nevermind the Racine idea. It's 15 minutes north of Gurnee, which still leaves you a good two hour drive to get to the Dells. Madison, WI is about halfway between the two.

I'm pretty much a 50/50 split of German and Irish. There's some smaller parts of Dutch, and English too. I am 100% full of draconic snide remarks though.
