  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are differences between a marriage and civil union (at least in NJ) and since there aren’t many cases where the civil union is put into question in court...we wont hear about these until they do.

I'm pretty sure the rights between Civil Unions and marriages are the same, otherwise, what would be the point in even creating civil unions if homosexuals wouldn't benefit from it?

That isn’t good enough...I'm offended by how the states wants to segregate the gay and straight people, its no different from when we segregated whites and blacks...its freaking archaic!!!

That's a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think? Gay people today are recognized and accepted (socially), more so than any other time period in history. Although pro-gay marriage activists mean well, they just demand so much, so soon, that it isn't realistic. While California is ready to acknowledge gay marriage, a state that is not as socially liberal may not be... but will in due time. Just like the Civil Rights movement back in the 60s, the laws didn't just change overnight. I don't look at civil unions as way of segregating gay and straight people, but rather, as a progressive step towards legalizing gay marriage.

  2. My mom called me disgusting & a disappointment when she found out what i did with a friend, (but that's a different story) so i got really upset and left. My mom is one of those religious freaks that tells me about how the bible says it's wrong and all this other crap. I mean, if god created everyone, is there really anything wrong with being gay? It's not like all gay people wake up and say to themselves, "hey, i wanna turn gay today."

Sorry to hear that your mom reacted the way she did.

I've known a few gay people who came out when they were still in high school to their parents and it ended up disastrously. Either getting kicked out, disowned, or whatever. I was always so afraid of my parents reacting negatively to my sexuality, so I never came out to them. I don't think I will either, until I'm completely financially dependent and I am in a serious committed relationship. At least then, they'll see that homosexuality isn't just a 'phase' for me. I'm not sure if I should tell the sooner since I hate making excuses for why I don't have a girlfriend, but at the same time, it is a little nerve racking to tell a secret you've been hiding all your life.

  3. ^I'm guessing it has to do with religion, no?

While I am glad that it is officially called "marriage" now in California, I personally wouldn't have cared if the entire United States allowed only Civil Unions for homosexuals, as long as they had the same rights as heterosexuals. "Marriage" is just a title really.

  4. The Happening - 2/10

I also just saw the new M. Night Shyamalan film... and I thought it was terrible. The dialogue was laughable and there was an unnecessary amount of gore. All of Shyamalan's films (with maybe the exception of Unbreakable) are just awful. If you want to waste time and money, see this film! Otherwise, avoid at all costs.

  5. X

Loved it for the unique thrill that I got, but I guess my expectations were a bit too high the first time around... and also, I received nasty bruises (probably from the last raven turn) on my shoulders. I'm going to California in August and hopefully I'll get a chance to see the new and improved X2 with the effects and the music!

  6. My sister went to Italy and bought me an iTunes gift card there. I tried to buy Family Guy online on the Italian iTunes (because the gift card is only valid on the Italian iTunes) and they offer the show in both English and Italian. I bought the whole 3rd season in English, but when I played it, it was all in Italian! That was 27 Euros wasted! Has this happened to anyone before? If so, what can I do to so that I can get it to be in English or in German? It's so frustrating!

  7. Blue Man Group, in the theater where it all started. It was pretty good!

Also, I don't know if you'd call it a concert, but I went to see Jeff Dunham live. He was filming his Christmas special DVD "Spark of Insanity," and it will air on Comedy Central.

It's been a pretty good week!

I also saw Blue Man Group but at the Love Parade in Essen! They are really quite something special live!

  8. ^I disagree.

I thought "The Strangers" was rather good. There were a few parts that I really scared me and had me on the edge of my seat! Not the best horror film by any means, but I recommend it.

I'm a huge horror movie buff and was completely let down by this film. There really is no plot or explanation.

But sometimes that can work to the films favor! Just as an example, Uzumaki (a Japanese horror film) has virtually no plot nor explanation as to what exactly is happening. However, the visuals, the suspense, the directing, and the chaotic vibe of the film, make it one of the scariest films I've ever seen. It worked for Uzumaki's advantage because it gave a certain mystery to the entire film.

  9. ...and this is why I shouldn't have bought the 1st Generation iPhone when it first came out. I knew they would have improved it somehow in the near future! I'm a sucker for Apple products (I actually want to buy MacBook Air since I'm always in between classes. Aside from the obvious things of it not having that much memory space, does anyone who owns the MacBook Air like it or would recommend it?) and I can't wait to get this new iPhone!
