Two video's both of Matt Ouimet both talking about Canada's Wonderlands and outlook of the company moving forward,

Canada’s Wonderland could be in for its biggest upgrade since Cedar Fair purchased Canada’s largest amusement park from CBS Corp back in 2006 – including a potential expansion that would turn Wonderland into a full-out resort with a hotel on its park grounds.

“Canada’s Wonderland is going to get something interesting coming up,” Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet ...

“We take things out when we put things in,” said Ouimet. “We do think resorts help make [amusement parks] more of a full-day experience.”

I really hope this means within the next few years Time Warp and the Vekoma SLC are removed for a B&M Invert or Wing.

After riding those two this summer, I couldn't agree more. A B&M Invert would be a massive improvement over those rides.

  2. Alright, I've changed my worst coaster ever on June 7th when I visited Canada's Wonderland and it's a tie with the horrors known as Time Warp and Flight Deck. I admit that I'm a soft critic who usually finds ways to like rides. So I never truly despised any coaster I've ridden; that is, until I've ridden these two horrible coasters. I absolutely loathed Time Warp and Flight Deck.

Time Warp - My first Zamperla Volare. If any of the other Volares are like this contraption, I definitely won't be looking forward to riding any of them. Now I would ride them since I'm a guy who likes credits, but that would be the only reason I'd even consider doing it. Not only was it incredibly awkward to position myself on the train, but the ride was very rough and the layout was quite boring. Definitely won't waste my time on this ride again.

Flight Deck - The most painful experience I've ever ridden, by far. This is really the only ride that I actually felt pain on. I had to hold my teeth to prevent them from jittering as my head was whacked side to side on every turn or inversion, especially on the ears. I got lucky with some past Vekoma rides, but this is the first one I've ridden that I'd call a headbanger.

  3. Definitely go BGW over SFA, but if you're doing Cedar Point and Kings Island you could get a Platinum pass and do Kings Dominion instead. It's a great park and worth a visit.

I love Kings Dominion! It's one of my favorite parks that I've been to. I remember traveling there in 2011, and immediately blown away by some of their coasters, as well as the overall quality of the park! It was so great that I revisited in 2012.

I would love to go there, but the way this trip is going, as well as college costs, we may have the budget for only two parks (along with a trip to New York City to visit my brother). I know one of the parks is Cedar Point, so I'd like to try a park that I've never visited before, like the other 3 parks I mentioned (SFA, Kings Island, and BGW). And yeah, if it was between BGW and SFA, I'm pretty sure I'd go with the former. I think the main decision will be either Busch Gardens Williamsburg or Kings Island.

Interesting point about the Platinum Pass. I might look it up!

  4. Other than my usual trips to Universal and SeaWorld, I am most likely traveling up north in July. I'm definitely going to Cedar Point (haven't been there since 2012, so I will be riding Gatekeeper and Valravn for the first time). We only have room for one more park on our trip, and I am trying to decide between Kings Island, Six Flags America, or Busch Gardens Williamsburg. The plans are that we travel through the Cincinnati area on the way up north, so we might stop in that area to go to Kings Island. Another plan is that we save the second park for the part of the trip where we head back home, and in that case it will be down the Eastern seaboard, either Six Flags America or Busch Gardens Williamsburg (out of these two, I'm leaning heavily towards BGW).

  5. The last "new", as in one that opened the most recent, was Gringotts for me, but if we're not counting that, it would be Flug der Dämonen at Heide Park.

Otherwise, the last new, as in my first ride on it ever, was also Gringotts (#123), and if we're not counting it, Mystery Mine at Dollywood (#122).

This summer, I'll be riding Fury 325 (I'll try to make that my 125th credit, with a 124th either being a family ride at Carowinds, like Flying Ace Aerial Chase or Ricochet, or the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train at Magic Kingdom)!

  6. Sorry for getting a little off topic, but I've heard rumors that the Critter Castaways theater is being demolished for a new attraction. People I've talked to on Twitter say that it's connected to the removal of Gwazi and the 2015/2016 attraction.

    Thoughts?

I've also heard that rumor a few weeks ago. Sounds like Bird Gardens will be getting a complete redo along with this coaster!

  7. ^Is there a teal and a blue? I only remembered the teal one.

I don't think there was a blue one.

If anything, maybe it could have been that family invert that went to china.

And I'm pretty sure that the yellow track is for the flyer going to china.

Since there a two different colors of track, and both are for flyers, and one of the destinations is missing, what if they were making the flyer in china two different colors of track, (like half of the ride be yellow, half be teal). I know this is extremely unlikely, just thought I'd throw it out there for the heck of it. Not to mention, it would look really ugly

Didn't someone post an update a few weeks ago about dark blue track?

  8. And now, a reply to a pic of Kingda Ka:
YOOOO SO LOOK DA FIRST TIME I EVER GOT ON DIS RIDE I WAS WITH A WHITE FAMILY AND U KNOW WHITE FOLKS CRAZY SO DEY DONT FEAR ROLLER COASTERS OR DEATH IN GENERAL. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF TELLIN DEM DAT I DIDNT WANNA GET ON I FINALLY SAID YES CUZ I AINT NEVER BEEN NO B***H AND I DIDNT PLAN ON STARTING THAT DAY. WHEN DA ENGINEER SAID “PLS LEAN BACK AND KEEP THE BACK OF UR HEAD PRESSED AGAINST YOUR SEAT” AND I SAW EVERYBODY STICK DA BACK OF THEIR HEADS TO THE CHAIR I KNEW DAT I MADE DA WORST DECISION OF MY LIFE CUZ I EVEN SAW SOME BLACK FOLKS LISTEN AND U KNOW DAT WHEN BLACK PEOPLE LISTEN A WHITE LADY’S ADVICE , ITS DA REAL DEAL. SO MY FIRST MISTAKE WAS REFUSING TO PRESS MY HEAD AGAINST THE SEAT… THE RIDE TAKES OFF AND MY DOME SLAMS AGAINST THE CHAIR WHILE MY NECK SNAPPED… UNCONSCIOUS INSTANTLY.. WHEN I AWOKE FROM MY 3 SECOND SLUMBER WE HAD REACHED DA VERY TOP OF THE RIDE WHERE THE RIDE MAKES A QUICK PAUSE… WHEN THE RIDE MADE THAT PAUSE I OPENED MY EYES CAUSE I THOUGHT THE RIDE WAS OVER AND WE ALL MADE IT SAFELY. BOY WAS I WRONG… I OPENED MY EYES AND DA ONLY THING I SAW WAS A 300 FOOT DROP STRAIGHT TO DA GROUND SO I SAID “GOD YOU CANT LET ME DIE LIKE DIS”. I THINK I SUFFERED A HEART CONTUSION CUZ MY HEART JUST COMPLETELY STOPPED BEATING… AND THAN THE RIDE TAKES OFF AGAIN… WE MAKE THE 300 FOOT DROP AND I SCREAM MY LUNGS OUT AS IM SCARED TO DEATH BECAUSE DA ONLY TIME A HUMAN SHOULD BE DAT HIGH IN DA AIR IS WHEN THEIR SPIRIT IS BEING SUCKED INTO HEAVEN BY DA GRACE OF GOD.. SO WE SAFELY MAKE IT TO DA END OF DA RIDE AND WHEN WE GET OFF I STUMBLE OUT OF THE SEAT CUZ MY LEGS WENT NUMB AND ALL THE AIR WAS SUCKED OUT OF MY BODY SO I COULDNT TALK EITHER.. DA FIRST THING THESE CRAZY MOTHERF***ERS TELL ME IS “HEY MAN LETS DO THAT AGAIN THAT WAS WICKED”. I LOOKED AT DEM AND I REALIZED DAT DIS WHITE KID DAT I BEFRIENDED WAS ACTUALLY SATAN. I NO LONGER HAVE ANY WHITE FRIENDS.

These all caps posts make me feel about 20% more stupid lol.

  9. So far, I have only been to three Six Flags parks: Great Adventure, Over Georgia, and Magic Mountain. From best to "least" best experiences.

    1. Great Adventure - I was impressed by a majority of the rides and with the lines when I went Summer 2012. And El Toro is just awesome! I'm still impressed that of all the wooden coasters of this caliber (Intamin Plug n' Play), there's only ONE in America, and a bit jealous (since in Florida, our biggest woodie is about to get the axe and has a horrible reputation, Gwazi)! Kingda Ka and Nitro are very cool too.

    2. Magic Mountain - I went in winter 2010. I wasn't able to do as much as Great Adventure, but I liked X2 so much, as well as Tatsu and Goliath!

    3. Over Georgia - I visited in Oct 2011, after my high school marching band performed at the Bands of America Super Regional. It was packed, and the lines took a while. I remember waiting in line for Batman, and it took forever, lol! So, I wasn't able to do as much, but I liked the park though. Goliath is definitely my fave! I also was able to go on Acrophobia and Mindbender (both were fun)!

I'm probably visiting my fourth Six Flags park this summer (Great America), and boy am I stoked!
