  1. Live update from the bar in the hotel near the park.

I can indeed confirm that it has been launched with people on board many times. I can also confirm that it is regularly reaching 243 kph. I can also confirm that this ride and the whole park is amazing.

I will hopefully be riding with rastuso on thursday and I have not yet ridden it.

The rest of the park is looking stunning and I was struck by the music tests the were running yesterday. To get to Formula Rossa you pass the kids area and the transition from the kids area music to the formula rossa music is virtually seamless.

Having been witness to some of the final preparations of the park I can say I am nothing more than stunned at the quality of this place. Having seen many local parks come and go I can very confidently say this is a true world class theme park.

    Love it

Did you happen to get a video or pictures?

  2. This is a longer than usual closure on the Giant Dipper, normal is December, back open for holiday break. I think your right that they do this every couple years. Just I haven't made down there much this year.

^This weekend is the first annual chili cook off on Saturday, if it turns into anything like the Clam chowder cook off's the board walk will be jammed but most people are there for the cook off though. Expect big crowd on the walkway in in the arcades but the ride lines should be moving pretty good. (something the boardwalk is really good at doing)

for most rides. The lower capacity rides you might be waiting a while.

Have Fun, I may try to get there for a couple hours on Saturday.

Thank You, hopefully they will have the two train operation on the Giant Dipper, those workers really haul a$$ when it's two train

  3. Any one else notice on the Boardwalk operating calendar that on Oct 30 they go to limited operation Not surprising as that's the time of year for it. But click the link (for the limited ride list) and the Giant Dipper will be closed from then till February 6. That means Oct. 24 will be last day of operation for the GD. Time to get down there for a few more rides on this year.

  4. Alright guys, this will be my first post

I am 15, and I live in Fresno which is in the Central Valley, California. I love Intamin and "The Gravity Group" rides. my "hometown" park is Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, I am a season pass holder for the past 5 years. I usually make it over there at least twice a year, usually in the summer and fall. I've only been on 28 different coasters, but I've ridden most of them at least 3-5 times. The Giant Dipper at SCBB I have been on at least 70 times. I also live about 3 hours north from Six Flags Magic Mountain and 3 hours south of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Nice to meet everyone, I look forward to posting on the forum!
