I guess that did come off as pretentious.
Apologies.

Took a visit to my home park last Sunday- first of the year. Not going to lie- I was bracing myself. Six Flags is in the pits, and more bad news than good has been coming out of this place lately... The day ended up being wonderful. My friend and I got a flash pass because neither of us have the patience anymore to spend even a fucking second with a bunch of dumb fuck idiots tiktoking their existence away. That was a wise decision, and I think I'm at the point where I will never visit a park again without a skip the line pass. We were able to hit just about everything that we wanted to. I've been riding Raging Bull regularly since it came about, and I love the ride, it was my first hypercoaster, but have been of the opinion that it is pretty much an extended layout dive machine sans 90* first drop (great first drop and after that...pfffff nothing fluff). This was the best Bull ride that I've ever had. Everything about it hit. Something about it has changed. Wow. Go ride it.
So yeah- can't wait to go back, actually.

It was a fantastic time. Awesome place to see a show.

Finally made it out here this past Sunday. Got to the park in time for opening, and had until 1:30 before I had to head for the doors. Got a Gold Flash Pass, and all things considered, thought it was a pretty successful day. Viper was sadly closed to start the day, and that was a big reason for this brief detour, but I managed X2 (twice), Tatsu, Ninja, Superman, Riddler's Revenge, Batman, and Full Throttle. I had reservations for Twisted Colossus at 1, but it was down for mechanical reasons. Got in line for Goliath to see if I could wait those issues out, but that line was crawling, and I noticed staff walking up TC's lift to meet the riders who were stuck there, so it wasn't looking good. I bailed on the Goliath line and got a quick reservation on Full Throttle instead to close out the day. I was originally planning to stay until about 4, but our show at Hollywood Bowl had an earlier start on Sunday, so I had to cut that. On my way out, I noticed Viper was cycling, though I couldn't tell if it had riders. Oh well.
The park was pretty nice- I really enjoyed the hilliness, and it was easy on the eyes. Operations were alright for the most part (I have definitely seen worse), and there were breakdowns sprinkled into the mix, but it looked like everything apart from Apocalypse (and perhaps Viper) was open at one point or another during my short stay, which I've been led to believe is an exception. I feel that if I did stay until my originally planned 4pm, I would have comfortably gotten on everything else that I would have liked to (Viper, Goliath, Twisted Colossus, Wonder Woman, and Scream) and had a beer or two to boot. Good incentive to visit again, but I'm very glad I made the trip.

I have an opportunity to finally go and visit this park on Sunday 4/23. We have plans in the evening, so I'll likely have until 4:30 or so before I need to head for the exit. I plan on being there at park opening. I know it's not realistic to go in thinking I'll have time to ride everything I would like to, but the coasters that I really have my heart set on are X2, Viper, Riddler's Revenge, Goliath, Tatsu, Twisted Colossus, Ninja, Superman, and Full Throttle. Rides that it would be nice to make it on are Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Scream, Goldrusher, Revolution, and Batman. Any helpful tips or suggestions on how to approach this? I'm not going to sneeze at Flash Pass, as I don't know when I'll have the chance to come back.
Edited to add, I've read through the thread, and I know whatever advice given is contingent upon the rides actually being open...

Looking forward to seeing what they do with this layout. I last rode it back in 2015, and actually enjoyed it...but I'm sure whatever they have in store for it will be an improvement, and another feather in the cap for their already great collection of coasters.

So... SFFT best park in the chain?
Made a quick stop st SFFT last year for my bachelor party. Of the Six Flags parks I've been to, it's probably the one I'd most want to return to in the chain, with SFOG coming in second. Haven't yet visited SFOT, SFMM, SFDK, or SFM.

Either Zadra or Hyperion at Energylandia. Whichever corner of that large park is farther from the Chicagoland area.

Nothing too big comes to mind.
I passed up a chance to ride the Dragons again after it was announced they were coming down in favor of a day at SeaWorld. I had previously ridden when they dueled, so maybe it was better that I skipped them and preserved the memory.

Awesome. Got a nice chuckle out of that.

Huh, so much talk about the ride being re-tracked. I haven't been on it but why is that the focus? I thought the reliability of the ride was the main issue? Or am I just way out of the loop?
I bet the re-track will have some reliable loops.

Scream has been rumored to move since it opened. 17 years ago.

We had Indiana Beach pretty much all to ourselves this evening. Closed it out with a few chilly laps on Cornball Express.

Mine Blower at Fun Spot. I thought it was definitely the better of the two Fun Spot wooden coasters.

Found some free time on a work trip to take a few spins on Boardwalk Bullet at Kemah Boardwalk today. Happy I did- it was fantastic.

A fantastic ride on the Voyage at Holiday World this past Sunday.

I will never forget my rides on Hurricane: Category 5 from the original Pavilion. Oh lordy. They even shipped the trains to KI after it was demolished so they could continue bringing "joy" to people via Son of Beast...

Checking to see if anyone has any recommendations on a hotel that is fairly central to the airport, KD, and BGW. A buddy and I are flying out for Labor Day weekend, and were hoping to not have to rent a car, and Uber around instead. Any help is greatly appreciated.
