  1. I emailed the park but waiting for a response. Does anyone with a platinum membership (the one where you can visit all the other parks) know if you have to process the pass first at Williamsburg? I haven't bought one yet but I'll be in Florida before getting to Williamsburg and want to go to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, SeaWorld and Aquatica so the platinum pass made the most sense as long as I don't have to go to Williamsburg first.

You can bring a copy of the voucher they email to you and bring it to the guest relations windows of the other parks. My friend was able to do this during our recent trip to Florida in November.

  2. You said start with Tempesto and I know it's pretty much right next to AC, so we'd probably hit AC immediately after. From there, what's the best way to go around the park?

If you're trying to knock all of the coasters out right away, you can head to Oktoberfest after riding AC and hit up Bolt, and from Oktoberfest you can hit up Alpengeist in Germany and Griffon in France. After Griffon, you can either walk back to the front of the park to ride Nessie or catch the train in New France, which is a short walk from Griffon. The train will drop you off near Nessie's entrance.

  3. I'm making my first trip down to BGW on the 16th of June. We're figuring it's early season so the crowds won't be too bad. Can anybody comment on average queue length? We're planning on driving down early morning, spending the whole day there open to close, then driving back the same day (10 hours(!!!) of driving total) so if lines are bad we'll probably spring for quick queue.

Crowds will be light to moderate since you'll be going on a weekday. And next week is the last week of school for area public schools so the park won't be too crowded with locals. The longest I've waited for rides around this time is ~10-15 minutes for Alpengeist. Griffon, AC and Bolt were all 5-10 minute wait times on average and much less towards the end of the day. If you can arrive by opening, go ride Tempesto first and get that out of the way since that has the worst capacity of all the major coasters.

  4. 1. what is the best order to do the coasters? Tempesto 1st thing in the morning due to longer loading / waits?

    2. what is the best ride to get on at night? I enjoy pitch black through the woods like the beast / parts of diamondback at kings island if that helps

    1. Definitely do Tempesto first. The park will be packed this weekend so you should get there at opening and ride this right away.

    2. All of BGW's coasters are fun at night, however, I wouldn't expect any complete pitch black rides. Apollo's Chariot sits at the front of the park so you won't be able to avoid lighting from the parking lot. Nessie's interlocking loops are well lit. Griffon and Alpengeist have some lighting on them as well and they both tower over the main pathways so there will be lighting from that. I would say Verbolten is the darkest since a majority of that right is inside a building, but during the outside parts you'll see some light emission from Oktoberfest and on the footbridge to San Marco.

  5. I just wanna say that I am very dissatisfied with Dollywood customer services so far.

I tried to purchase the season pass online and ALL my credit cards (5 of them) were declined. I'm assuming that's because they were issued in Brazil?

So I called their customer service and after 10 minutes on hold (let me remind you, they only have 1800 numbers, so I had to add skype credits to make that call), I was told that they can't process the season pass in 6 easy payments over the phone, only on their website - and their website won't take any of my credit cards!

What is the point in getting a massive new coaster if they can't even process a damn foreign credit card?

There's a chance that your credit card companies in Brazil are stopping the transaction. You should contact them directly and see if there is an issue on their part. Before my friend's trip to Japan, he had a problem trying to buy Tokyo Disney Sea tickets with his USA-issued Credit Card. He called them to let them know the issue and once he explained they let the transaction proceed.

  6. For whatever reason I don't see this on their website, does anyone know the hours for Season Pass preview day?

Preview day hours are 10 am - 6 pm. The hours are posted on the BGW Pass Member page and not on the regular calendar.

Also, are pass processing lines generally manageable that day?

The lines for pass processing can get pretty bad since this seems to be a popular day for people to go, especially if the weather is nice. The park should have all the ticket counters and kiosks open but even with that you may have to wait a while. My advice is to get there super early to beat the rush.
