These parents shouldn't be complaining about the way Disney handled things, they should be punishing their kids for not behaving and selfishly ruining things for everyone in the group. Oh I'm sorry ma'm, you're upset that you have to leave in the middle of the night? Maybe if you raised your kids properly, we wouldn't have this problem to begin with.
The problem is that parents who point the finger at authority when their kids get in trouble, send the wrong message to the kids causing the problems. It doesn't teach them to take responsibility for their actions, it teaches them "hey, I can act unruly and blame someone else!"
Kids actions typically reflect their parenting, seems this was the case here as well.
Thank you Disney. Keep it classy!

Well this is good to hear! Maybe this trend will slow the constant home building going on all around the city, cause really, its getting ridiculous!
Although I've never been to Adventure City, it may be nice to take my kids there sometime in the future.

May it rest in pieces.
Or melted for further use.
Sad to see it go, really. The way I see it, the more coasters to ride, the better.
-
There isn't a new train at Batman. The one you saw has just been rehabbed really well, and the ride ops have been keeping up on the daily cleaning.
You can start to see a lot of areas of improvement in the park at other coasters as well; clean queue lines, clean trains, lots of foliage getting raked up. Honestly, there's a lot of work going on around the park as of late, a lot of little things are getting worked on and it shows. Its just a matter of time before the GP starts noticing and bringing in bigger attendance.

Diggin towards the end of the video where you guys were squirtin the people on Popeye's. They're all looking up like "What the? Where the hell is that coming from?" lol
"Unicorns are always happy in the forest of enchantment."
Nice TR.
Very entertaining.

^I've kinda always wondered that myself.
I think the number 1 and 2 spots are right where they belong. Typically the more intense rides get knocked down to number two, or so seems the trend.
Like Robb said 5 pages earlier, do these numbers effect the rides I like? No.
-
It totally figures. Leave it to the general public to completely misunderstand something like this and blow it way out of proportion. When I hear stuff like that in line I just laugh to myself and say whatever. Try to explain to them they are way safer on the rides than in their car and you are just wasting your time. Again, whatever.
And that's why I can't believe its being torn down because of this one incident.
I mean you have these things all over the place, none of them ever has a problem, some freak accident occurs simply because maintenence didn't catch it beforehand (I believe the cable was worn and wasn't replace when needed) and everyone is apparently freaking out.
But I guess other attractions similar to this like Verti-Go @ Knott's got pulled out even though the incident didn't even happen at their park. So maybe parks just don't have tolerance when certain rides cause injuries.

^Boooooo! Wonder if it'll be trash or if it'll sit in the junkyard for a year or two.
I like the Colossus retracking ideas. Getting the double down back and all that crazy stuff. I think Colossus' layout is not that bad a coaster, its just really worn.
-
Wow those are really some amazing shots. And some of those coasters i've never seen before so I was looking them up on RCDB. The theming at those parks is unbelievable.
Way better than most of the theme park junk over here in America.

^^Who's taking it literally?
"X is now in the 5th Dimension" doesn't sound cool, it sounds like an obvious, cheesy, SF marketing strategy.
That's what makes it lame.
Not what they're doing to improve it.
So what are the supposed to call it? 4.5 Dimension they don't want to completely change the name of the coaster but I think since there are new trains, it calls for a new name.
I have no problem giving it a new name. I'm talking about the 5th Dimension bologna. They're two different things.
^I saw that too and was hoping for a video of whats going on during the revamp.
From what I've been hearing they are going to be completely renovating the station (with what sounds like a good possibility of a dropping floor) and having the tunnel from the station to the lift hill. Looks like that 10 million bucks might end up doing more than we first thought.
-
Wow, my favorite. A take it down, build around it, then build it back up. Hope the coaster maintains well.
Is it just me or does it seem like there's been a lot of coaster destruction going on in the past year or so?

If the man died in the hospital, is that still considered "(falling) to his death?"
I thought one would have to die "on contact" to be able to call it that.
It'll be interesting to hear more details about this. Of course that's if Disney decides to release them.

Its kind of odd how everyones saying X was running well the last couple days before it went down. When I went to visit about a week before it closed my buddy said he had the worst ride on X he'd ever remembered. And we were in row 5. Of course he was on the outside, but even I haven't seen anyone get tossed like he did.
I think the lighter, better designed trains will be fine. Perhaps we'll get lucky and they'll ride even better.
Lighter weight makes a big difference when it comes to shaking the track and train roughness at high stress points.

These types of arguments come up all the time.
It's really a conflict of interest, there really is no "King".
So in the scope of things, there's really no way to judge or gauge which park is better, so why get all bent outta shape about it?
In the meantime, I'll keep going to Magic Mountain.
-
We'll see.
Magic Mountain may slowly creep back up to the top if things keep improving like they have been.
^^^El Toro may have held the reigns over X the past year or so, but lookout! Spring 2008 will flip things back in place when the 5th Dimensional X2 is unleashed!
-
At least they're not going to touch Fort Le John!
Haha, agreed! Its too bad they removed Yosemite Sam and the cannon that was in front of it...never understood why.
Also got one last night ride in on Tatsu a couple of minutes before the park closed-that thing is absolutely insane in the back row at night!
Oh man that was the first seat I sat in on Tatsu the first time I rode it and its still my favorite. Pretzel loop in the back is the most intense seat on the ride!
^On my last visit to MM (the day after Thanksgiving) Tatsu was running 2 stations and 2 trains, which improved capacity a lot. I'd say a train was leaving every 3 minutes, and sometimes they'd dispatch one right after another, which slowed the speed of the train on the lift until the other train had hit the safety's.
-
^^^^Thanks! Bring on MM 2008!
Can't wait to see some diggin goin on!
I really don't see how new trains could screw X up. And I really don't wanna be proven wrong...but I'm excited to see what all the new things will bring to the park.

I think the concept art is awesome, there are a lot of really awesome ideas drawn out, especially because they're from back when these cartoons were really taking off.
However, from what I've seen, Hanna Barbera hasn't really dated well. You don't hear much about it anymore. So it kinda makes me wonder what might have come from parks that had these characters in them.
Last, It seems like there wasn't much to build on regarding these characters. I mean, how much can you do with Yogi Bear and the Jetsons? It just seems like there wasn't much room for growth which is perhaps why these visions never left the paper.
I mean, I am young compared to some on here, but when I flipped on the TV, I had never really been drawn to Hanna Barbera. I preferred Disney and Looney Toons.
Thanks again!

I've never had a good ride on Mantis. Riddlers is the best one I've been on, and for some reason seems like it would take the cake, however I'd love to get on a a TOGO standup. Those restraints look interesting.
Standup coasters were just a gimmick anyway...
-
Damn I wish they had brats like that around here.
Shouldn't this be in the random sectionShouldn't you be a moderator before making those decisions?
Worlds longest hotdog? Who even cares to be in a record book for something like that? LOL! C'mon!
-
^^Nothing. Its a scam by Six Flags.
There's no such thing as the 5th dimension anyway.
Look it up. I swear.
One station for load/unload will definitely be an improvement on capacity. Unless the ride ops decide to move 2X slower than they do now I don't see how it wouldn't.

Thank you, Mr. Sun.
Eric
Oh! And the environmentalists. Thank you environmentalists!
It would be lame if the tunnel was only before the lift, like Psyclone.
Oh god I can see it happening!
I thought the new scheme was red and black. It's grey? I could easily be mistaken on this.
I think they should keep the old color scheme. I mean, how many Lambo yellow and magenta colored roller coaster tracks do you see?

Yeah I don't buy the "i forgot it was in my purse" bullcrap either.
I wish it would've specified if she had a license or not. Police don't always follow the gun laws properly. I've not only experienced it myself, but heard many times when guns are confiscated and people are taken into custody with no legal justification.
I'm all for having guns. I mean, its our right.
