  1. ^ Well sorry for the really delayed update, I have been very busy.

    Summer 1982

Summer is back! And Riverfront is open, so is their new ride "Swashbuckler." Of course it is a family ride, and it is a great fit for the park. It attracted a big crowd and luckily it ate up a lot of people. I had a great day at the park, my ride count came up to this:

    Swashbuckler: 2

    Sasquatch: 2

    Rivercat: 2

    Galaxy: 1

    Sky Wheel: 1

    Chute for the Sky: 1

Onto the pictures! The first thing I did was head straight to Swashbuckler, and got on the first ride. It was great!

I like the entrance for the ride.

The queue had some pretty decent theming, the mist helps you keep cool too.

Great addition! There have been rumors of a new coaster to come to the park by 1985...

I then hit Galaxy, which surprisingly had a full queue (about 30 minutes)

What is a visit to the park without hitting the park's coasters??

Sasquatch is still running great! I can't wait to see if this rumored coaster will top it and Rivercat

This is one of my favorite spots in the park.

I love how Rivercat interacts with the terrain.

Speaking of Rivercat, it got a fierce new logo (Thanks RCInsider for the awesome logo!)

    More on the park soon!

    Comments please!

  2. I love your park map

    Thanks!

Hmmm...never saw this thread before, and its actually quite good. Some quality RCT3, and you know thats a compliment coming from me cuz I hate that game. The map is a really creative, nice touch to the timeline.

    Thanks!

That park map is something no one has ever thought to do and it's perfect! Mind if I steal the idea for another time? Anyways, this project is great. I cannot wait to see how the park grows and develops over the years. With this type of park, you could definitely do some incredible attractions using the landscape!

    Keep up the excellent work!

Thanks! And of course you can! I claim no rights to making park maps

Riverfront Amusement Park announces an all new family attraction!

Swashbuckler! Manufactured by Intamin, the ride starts with a smooth back and forth motion with increasing speed in both directions. The swinging motion results in an angle of up to approximately 75 degrees! As the arc of the pendulum increases to its full operating height, the riders experience sensation of speed, rocking motion, and weightlessness!

    Swashbuckler is opening summer 1982!

The ride has a polynesian style entrance.

    February 1982.

    More land clearing begins.

    April 1982.

The ride was put in place, and theming for the line begins.

  3. This looks awesome. Way better than your other parks

    Thanks!

Awesome park. I love the supports on the shuttle loop.

    Thanks!

    July 31st, 1981.

Welcome to part 2 of my season one reports of Riverfront Amusement Park! I have visited that park a couple times since opening. But this is the first time I took pictures.

I decided to go on Galaxy first, it had a hefty line, it is a puke machine!

    Galaxy doing its thing.

I decided to skip Sasquatch today as it had an hour wait. Right now it's the parks only inversion, I wonder when that will change?

    Enjoy your fall!

I headed over to the other side of the park and hit Lakeside Scatabout, I love these types of rides!

Now probably the moment you've all been waiting for, I got my hands on some overview shots of Rivercat. I can't tell you how though.

Here's the first part of the ride.

After you get to the terrain part of the coaster, also my favorite part of the ride!

The ride is great! Also, the park has been so successful so far, there have been rumors of a new attraction in the works for next year.

Here is the 1981 park map.

    2 Weeks Later. August 14th, 2011.

Today is the last day of operation, and as I parked I saw bulldozers and crates sitting in the overflow lot.

Strange? And as I was walking toward Rivercat, I saw land clearing.

Looks like a new attraction is on the way! I wonder what it is....

    More soon!

  4. This looks great, can't wait to see more!

    Thanks!

This park looks amazing already, Sasquatch and Rivercat look good, and I could see a Windseeker coming to this park!

Thanks! Well that's going to have to wait 30 years

    June 5th, 1981.

Today was the Grand Re-Opening of Riverfront Amusement Park. And boy, was it crowded. I ended up getting on Rivercat twice. And the airtime in the back seat is OMFG good! Well let's got onto the pictures.

It was very crowded today, people were coming in by the busloads.

After you enter, the first thing you see is the Guest Services building. It looks very nice after a fresh new paint job.

On the other side of Main Street you have the Riverfront Emporium, and The Tower Cafe.

Then right at the end you see the park's "icon" I guess? Chute for the Skies!

I ran right to Rivercat. And the airtime on this thing is amazing!

    Roaring into the brake run!

I grabbed a quick bite to eat at this rustic snack bar.

Then I headed to the park's other coaster, Sasquatch. It had about a 45 minute wait.

The launch is definitely the best part! It catches you off guard.

I did take some pictures on the ride though.

    Launch!

    And into the loop!

To close part 1 of my trip report. Here's a picuture I got of Rivercat while on my family's boat.

    Part 2 is coming soon!

  5. -May 1974

John and Mary Ewell always dreamed of opening an amusement park that everyone could enjoy. Once they moved to Sacramento in late 1973, they came across a 200 acre plot of land along the river. They knew this was it, so they quickly purchased the land, got loans and permits, and started building immediately in May 1974. The park opened a year later to okay reviews. There was no roller coaster in the park so there wasn't that big of a draw to the park.

After only one season, the park was shut down. It was abandoned and became a local hangout for teenagers.

In late 1976, multi-millionaire David Washington visited the park. He saw loads of potential so he purchased it and started rebuilding the park in 1978. He took pictures of his visit in 1976

The original owners loved the architecture of Disneyland so they wanted to carry that into the park.

The Main Street area, is small, but does the job. And carrys that same Disney Main Street Architecture.

    Another building within the park.

The park is almost done with it's transformation, which includes two new roller coasters! One of which is:

Go 0-55mph in 4 seconds, through a loop and do it all backwards on Sasquatch! Built by Anton Schwarzkopf, the ride will definitely be a big crowd drawer!

The other coaster, is Rivercat, which is the star of the park! Rivercat sends you flying around the mountainous terrain, before taking a climatic 50ft drop over the river!

It is May 31st, 1981. The park opens in 5 days, which I am very excited for! The park released another teaser of the park!

    More soon!

For those wondering, I am still working on Waterbury, for now this is the main park I'm working on. But expect Waterbury's return in the future.

First screen: You could save yourself tons of time (and lag) if you use DasMatze's wooden support retexture. Looks decent so far.

Second screen: The building looks great, but I think that you could get some better feedback if you included the purpose of the building. That said, I think that it would look better with some actual surroundings such as other buildings, some foliage, or you could break that path up a little, and make it flow.

Thanks! I did download that right now and it looks way better! And saved me hours of works Don't worry that shot was still a WIP so the surroundings are not done yet! The final product will look better! The purpose of the building is to hold restrooms.

Thought I'd tease you guys with my new park

  7. This park is turning out amazing

    Thanks!

    *****************************************************************************

I have sad news, I've had a lot of computer issues lately, so I had to uninstall RCT3 and NetOn2. When I reinstalled everything and put all of CC back. I opened the park and all my supports for Corkscrew were missing, some of my buildings were half gone, and all my ride signs/billboards have disappeared. I double checked and all the sets I have used were properly installed, so it's going to take me some time to rebuild. But don't worry this park is not over! Just on a short break I am starting another park at the same time so look forward to that also

I'd like to thank everyone that commented/gave feedback on this park! It's deeply appreciated. And I promise Waterbury will return soon

Returning soon with a Season 5 announcement! Stay tuned!

Look forward to my new park also!

    -Eric

  8. Fantastic, I'm a little sad that High Flyin' Parachutes is gone but over all it's a great park. Looking forward to seeing Hellevator construction continue. Great Work!

    Thanks!

    ******************************************************

It's FINALLY SUMMER! The sun is out, the park is open, and lines are longer than ever before!

    Summer Year 4

Today was hot! 102 degrees to be exact, luckily we have Surge which had a two hour wait today! The first thing I did when I got to the park was bolt right to Hellevator, I was one of the first people to get on. What can I say? The ride was great! And the view was breathtaking. One thing was interesting, they did a lot of land clearing on the old HFP site. The plot of land is huge! Wonder what's coming to the park? Coaster maybe?

When I was walking towards Hellevator, I noticed it's eerie queue line.

The entrance. There was a lot of mist which helped you cool down.

The line was also shrouded in trees.

As I got to the top, you see this big construction area on the side of the mountain, it's huge!

As I exited the line was already about an hour long!

I then hit up Surge, as it was already getting blazing hot! Perfect way to cool off

Then I went on Mad Tea Party, which is kind of a ride that gets forgotten a lot. Definitely popular with little kids though.

I then hit Falcon, which is still running great! And Stallion which I forgot to take a picture of

After that the heat was starting to get to me and decided to leave the park early. More updates soon!

    *********************************************************************************

    Comments & Feedback please!

  9. Wow it's been a while since I updated this. Mostly due to lack of motivation, but I'm back with frequent updates!

    *********************************************************

    Spring Year 4

I decided to hit the park today, crowds were large, but manageable. I got in all the rides I wanted to get in. It was more of a chill day, I decided just to sit back and relax/take in the view.

    Ride count:

    Falcon (1)

    Corkscrew (2)

    Surge (1)

    Eagle's Flight (1)

To start off my report, here's a map of the park. It's going to be updated by the summer with the additions of Hellevator, and removal of High Flyin' Parachutes.

I wanted to take a ride on Stallion, but sadly it was still down for maintenance.

I decided to take a ride on Falcon which had a 20 min wait, then head on over and check on Hellevator construction. It is definitely coming along quite nicely

They had Hellevator signs all along the construction wall.

Had two quick rides on Corkscrew.

Then hit Surge, then slowly made my way out of the park. Here's a skyline shot, which will quickly change by this summer!

    Another update soon!

  10. ^Thanks! Much appreciated

Hey just got back from my trip over the weekend. Everything was great with the exception of Tatsu being down . Lines weren't bad for a saturday. I finished everything and still had plenty of time for re rides at night. In Terms of X2 I rode on the ramp line side (left side if your looking at the rides lift hill) in the very back row on the outside seat and it was great. It was a little "bouncy" after the flame cannons but other then that it was awesome the new headrests are comfy and help alot . Audio was still down but the cannons were working. Also Green Lantern was alot more fun then i expected!.

Thanks for the report back! Im glad X2 got the new headrests, I hope Tatsu will be open by this thursday... But I don't want to get my hopes up

  11. I'm going to the mountain next week on Thursday, the 14th, and had a couple questions.

How big do you think the crowds will be?

Do lines for Green Lantern get long fast in the morning? Or does the GP still run to X2?

Also Deja Vu is still the only missing credit and I finally plan on going on it, and I have heard mixed reviews of it. Has it been running smooth?

And I don't know how I should go around the park, since my group doesn't want to spend money for gold flash passes I don't know which route to take. I usually go to Tatsu first then go around clockwise, but I wouldn't make it to green lantern until like noonish, would lines already be long? Or should I go counter clockwise and hit Goliath then Green Lantern?
