  1. I sure can't wait to see what happens. Apparently there's a number of rides (flats mostly) I haven't ridden yet and need to, along with the new Hyena Falls, so I need to get back out to the park again before this summer's over. Also, Wildebeest and Mammoth are pretty thrilling in my book.
  2. Well, closest medium/major city to Holiday World is Louisville, I think. There's that. Hmm, that's new.
  3. Which reminds me, I don't think he brought up anything about parking recently. If he's keeping the Fairground parking lots, then you can keep expecting $8 parking. ^^Deluge is still there. Also, Holiday World doesn't have a standalone body slide at all.
  4. If I remember correctly, it's more the "nicer" part of the park. I don't blame him though, Six Flags left it untouched when they left, while I'm sure the amusement/dry side (while still being up-kept by their team) probably doesn't look so well at the moment. I can only guess the current state of Thunder Run up-close.
  5. Snippets of water park plans from the submitted proposal mudvayneimn posted on the previous page: This excites me very much. Didn't see any pictures on the roller coaster other than the ariel view of where it would be placed. Also, this alone was very interesting to see.
  6. ^^ & ^^^ They mentioned way back that Greezed Lightnin' was damaged beyond repair, and that he really didn't want to touch it. Not sure if he's still sticking with that, but I'd expect it. All I can say now is that they can expect me to purchase a season pass as soon as it's available. Heck, I might make a run to see if that new sign is still there. It's so nice to finally see something physically new in the park for once; even if it's just words.
  7. Someone posted this on the park's Facebook Page: Linky to FB Page Others mentioned people hammering away on Thunder Run.
  8. I'm usually not very interested in general coaster videos, but I had to watch yours after seeing everyone's reactions to this. It really is excellent! Love how you use slow motion to stretch out scenes, removing the possibility of repeat footage like I see in some other coaster videos. Great job MilleniumCP!
  9. Love it, and agree about the lap bars! Very sexy looking train, giant turbines, a spoiler, and everything!
  10. 1st: Almost any Schwarzkopf looper. First that comes to mind if Mindbender at SFOG when it hits the loops. 2nd: Kumba's roar! 3rd: The LIM launch magnet screams! (Wicked Twister, Flight of Fear, Volcano, etc.) 4th: Top Thrill Dragster sounds a bit like a jet when it flies by. For a coaster going that fast, I think that's pretty cool!
  11. Heh, and here I thought WT lost its glory. It's unfortunate that many Intamin rides like these have to turn away larger riders because they can't fit. Also, the coaster has two seat belts latches, not just one.
  12. My favorite flat ride's gone mad! I'm more worried about the abrupt ending and type of restraint system our chests might be crushed against due to forces. Other than that, if I'm seated comfortably, I'd semi-marathon it! Can't wait!
  13. First time at Coastermania, and second time at Cedar Point (First time was at Gatekeeper media day. Did that count?). Had an absolute blast on all of the coasters I got to ride! *Gatekeeper's nice! Very enjoyable and fun! *Somehow placing myself in the possible minority, my favorite coaster in the park turned out to be Wicked Twister in the front or backseat thanks to the launch, the sharp upward turn, and the *ahem* wicked twists! *Top Thrill Dragster had one hell of a unforgettable launch and drop! It's just too short. *I love stand-up coasters, but Mantis turned out to be a harsh choice because of the pain in my legs from the g-forces it gave me, probably thanks to the amount of walking I did beforehand. *Mean Strak... didn't hurt?! It was actually just tame for me, that's all. it was probably a different story for the people that sat on the car in front of me, though. *Maverick was, hands down, the wildest roller coaster I have ever ridden. It has everything I love in a roller coaster, including its compactness. It's not my favorite though due to me having to brace myself so hard on some elements. I'd love for it to have the I305 restraints, like what someone else mentioned. *Raptor's a great B&M! *Power Tower's drop tower was nice. The speed at which it dropped felt much different from an Intamin's, but it still wasn't entirely thrilling. Other than the rides, the weather was definitely not the best, the seagulls still tried to claim Gatekeeper to themselves, and there were bugs... everywhere! Still, I had a wonderful time at the event! I LOVE the Gatekeeper fleece they gave us, and I'm lucky to even have grabbed one VIP fleece for myself when they sent us into a free-for-all trying to grab multiples. The fleece, and the army of Coastermania Attendees! I rode Top Thrill Dragster 5 times on Coastermania day, and hearing that song over and over again made me wonder if the guys operating the coaster were sick of it yet or not!
  14. Having been on Maverick for the first three times two days ago, my top vote for intensity goes to it! Second to that is I305, and third is probably backseat on Wicked Twister thanks to the sudden upward turn going backwards and the twist.
  15. ^This is devious... I love itand maybe you for it .............. Okay, not that last part...
  16. Photos from same visit. It's still in tact; Still Standing; And still a bit overrun by mother nature. Also best photo I could get of the carousel.
  17. ^I know they have with ProSlide tornadoes, providing a smaller "Topsy Turvey," but for very small kids. I agree, though, as well! Very cute, and very nice to see a mild version of something that's thrilling other parks!
  18. I noticed the TPR Index's Gatekeeper section says that you needed photos, so I have a few from media day to donate. Enjoy
  19. Only been on Gatekeeper so far. Just like what was said, I like it, but it's not "great." My type of coasters are out of control ones as well, and I can pretty much say I'm a fanboy of Premier spaghetti bowls, and tight layouts on Eurofighters (Sometimes the roughness of an SLC as well). Gatekeeper had a lot of swooping and diving, which isn't my favorite style of rides even though the amount of g-forces on it did surprise me.
  20. This section alone, I couldn't agree with you more. I remember coming back in 2009 and seeing the park had actually boosted a little in quality. It seemed less run-down and there was more being put into cleanliness and up-keeping, including re-paintings. The Chang repaint wasn't something I was totally for since they went from Purple, to blue supporting, but I got used to it and actually enjoyed the freshness of the coaster. That, and there was a wonderful balance of foliage I noticed in the park. Just saying, those that hadn't been to the park since, say, 2002 missed out on a noticeable quality boost.
  21. Really wish I could make it out to Holiwood Nights this year, but life called. Save some water fun for when I try to come another time this summer though! Now, about that giant flashlight I read about 12 pages ago?
  22. Those daylight rings (silly word-changer) on those flumes! There's something you don't see in the US! Loving the update, and I would do anything to come to this water park someday when it's up and running!
  23. Sorry to double post. I ran by the park last saturday since I was near the area and was interested in how the park was doing. First of all, all of my explorations were done completely outside the fence like the last time I was there (the previous time was my first). The main difference is that they upped security, probably because more kids had successfully snuck into the park, so there were some in-gate security guards casually strolling and following my direction as I took photos. No intentions of going inside, but still got me a bit paranoid. Anyways, I did speak with one of the security guards that followed and he informed me that he had seen the ferris wheel run multiple times, showing that some rides in the park are definitely still operational! Secondly, I found Roller Skater's train sitting next to Greezed Lightnin'. How's it going? Lastly, during the look around, I also noticed that almost every ride, attraction, shop, restaurant, and pavilion had signs posted on them with a number or a number-letter combination. From outside Gate 5 facing Broadbent arena. Much yard-work had been done on Bluebeard's Bounty to remove much of the wild plants that threatened to encompass the ride. #8. Breakdancer. The Whirling Dervish Looking back towards Bluebeard's Bounty. Think they're auctioning them off, or simply mapping them?
  24. I'd say his fear-factor estimate is probably off, but I guess we'll see once it's up. Also, if you can snag any pictures of what's already there, that's be wondrous!
