  1. I so much wish I could get out there as well! Just a little too far with the schedule I have. Hope whoever goes brings back a report!
  2. There's a few rides from Kings Dominion I wish I had hit, like Avalanche, Anaconda, and Ricochet (only because I want the credits on the latter two. I'm still 2 coasters short of 100 ). For Cedar Point, I'd happily go back in time and trade my experience on Mean Streak for Blue Streak instead.
  3. ^^My only worry on that is capacity since it runs one train, and it usually takes a while for people to get the vests on and checked by ride ops considering other Vekoma flyers out there with slow operations (i.e., Firehawk). I think a Sky Rocket coaster sounds pretty appropriate for a park like KK, actually. My pipe dream is for either a mega-lite, or an extended SkyLoop like Abismo!
  4. Great idea, and congratulations!
  5. ^^ Well, that something I've also never seen before. Thanks! ^ Honestly, I thought you'd be most excited to see the pic while I was posting it.
  6. Posted on the 29th. I've never really seen the chassis for a coaster placed on the track without the cars on top before: KK FB Page
  7. I love it when coasters are forced to fit in a tight area, manufacturers then get really creative and funky with their designs in conforming with what they have to work with! Looks crazy, can't wait to see it running!
  8. For once, I'll give it a shot. I'll PM my stuff in a sec. I'm not sure what to give hints for... I am in need of a baseball cap to wear pretty often. Any from an amusement park (or amusement ride company of ANY kind) would make me very, very happy! Of course, that is a stupidly specific request. Otherwise, anything along the lines of... -baseball caps (no sports teams though) -a random gift item from any amusement park -t-shirt (size large) -any canon t3i accessory (within the price range limit) -small plushie or just a surprise gift!
  9. ^^Ooh, good point. If temporary closures count, then my bets are on Ring Racer.
  10. The whole chicken vs. egg thing is finally over, huh? Crazy to hear both Flying Turns AND Ring Racer are both finally operating in late 2013!
  11. Oh! I won? I didn't even expect that to happen, thanks!
  12. Gonna try to take a break from college this weekend and hit up an indoor water park. It's my second baby step in beginning to plan and take road trips to various amusement/water parks, the first being a spontaneous Holiday World trip I took back in August. Also, homemade spaghetti and meatballs made from scratch is the best.
  13. Very tough question. It very, very heavily depends on who you're going with as well. Disney World is wonderful for people who have kids who aren't ready for coasters that rocket over 100 mph to sky scraping heights. It's also usually a guaranteed good time when you're there with a good group of people as well, since everyone usually tries their best to have a good time there, and the Disney parks get a lot of respect by a very wide audience (in my point of view, at least). Having been to Cedar Point a couple of times this year, I would most definitely devote that to a group of hardcore coaster riders, people looking for thrills, and not minding the fact they have to travel to a more northern area of the United States. A park with a lineup of nothing but the most thrilling coasters (and a few that are a few steps down) is something more that teens and young adults are probably more attracted to. As for me, this might be my childhood talking, but I'd rather spend a few days in the happiest place on earth than 1-2 days riding intense Intamins. Don't get me wrong, I love Cedar Point. I just have a preference in the quality of rides and attractions than just riding thrilling rides.
  14. One that get's on my nerves are cookie-cutter names. Prety much any Six Flags coaster with the name Superman in it for example. The coasters themselves might be above average, but it gets old trying to specify which Superman you're talking about. Also within the same ballpark is Goliath. Other than that, I'd probably have to agree with Girrafica. Weird transition for me going from the dry park section's Thanksgiving theme to the water park's Africa theme.
  15. I looked through the latest update (Posted September 2nd), and am now a tad uncomfortable at how small that hill is after that huge-a** drop...
  16. I liked SkyCoaster too. Of course, I'm not a fan of a $15 up-charge on anything, but it sure did impress. Also, Kentucky Kingdom was lucky (in my opinion) to even have one at 180 ft since most others I've seen at parks didn't even reach 130ft in height. Also, I'm considering my options for what to do for my next summer break, and I'm considering filling out an application (once it becomes available) for KK. I definitely want to be there when the park opens, but I'm wondering about working for them too since I need a summer job...
  17. Now that I remember, I'm quite certain the PDF's posted on Screamscape were from the PDF's that were posted... Nearly two months ago when the park submitted their proposed plans on how they would go about refurbishing the park. I even made a post screen-grabbing the planned slides from the PDF. Also, please take Screamscape with a grain of salt.
  18. May 24, I believe. ^^ I wouldn't doubt a star flyer at all. They're still pretty hot on the market, I do believe. And I believe this height would be higher than the one Holiday World has.
  19. My guess is that they have those restraints in the 3D model just as an example. Disney's probably going to come up with something to allow whole families to ride. If they do have to resort to something over-the-head, then maybe they could try that lapbar system like the ones used on those Vekoma inverted family coasters.
  20. Debating purchasing the student price $19.99 per month Adobe Creative Cloud. I desperately need a new professional video editor, and really want to use Adobe Lightroom. Final Cut Pro X looks too much like iMovie, and I loathe iMovie.
  21. Very nice! Though, I sense a one-train operation with how far forward it took for the train to stop.
  22. Great updates on the park! I'm interested in how this will look once more goes up. Keep it up!
  23. This is big. It's amazing to finally hear (and see, thanks to live updates you guys are doing) this ride is finally carrying people. Not just "testers" people, but "general public" people! Great for Knoebels, I'd love to visit their park someday!
