The drop from the zero-g roll looks sick! Still looking forward to trying it. -
ChrisHanKwanSivus Gift Exchange 2013!

So sorry to my secret santa for not posting earlier. I received the package on time for Christmas and was able to open it with the rest of my presents. Loved what was inside! Pardon the crate lid, my desk was much too messy for photographing. This was especially unique to me. Awesome! Thank you so much for these! -
^Thanks! ^^ Rokinon fisheyes are very good quality and not too expensive, though I'm not too certain about how they (or at least my lens) do on any full-frame cameras.

I don't "get" standups

^^I actually found the slight airtime on Shockwave at Kings Dominion quite pleasant, which is one of the only few pluses I found of a TOGO standup I never find on B&M's. More coasters need airtime, no matter what thrilling type they are! -

These were in my latest Photo TR of SeaWorld Orlando, done with my fisheye lens (which I've learned to leave at home when not necessary to bring. ). Shark Encounter by Midgetman82, on Flickr Manta by Midgetman82, on Flickr These were taken I went for a walk one day and it was lightly raining, so I brought my camera along for the stroll and did a few shots of watery reflections on the road and really liked how they turned out. I snowboard a bit. I used to travel up an hour and a half to a small ski hill in Paoli, Indiana weekly with my high school's ski club during January and February, but haven't been able to go as often since I graduated. The place wasn't special at all, and it only took a few minutes or less to reach the bottom. Now I'm looking to go with my college ski group to my first big ski resort out in Colorado this coming January. Should hopefully be fun.

The only time I've ever had pain from a stand-up was the first (and currently, last) time I rode Mantis at Cedar Point this year. I saved it for near the end of the day after all of the walking and riding other rides, and my ankles were on fire during it. I was confused from that experience because I've ridden Chang, Georgia Scorcher, and Riddler's Revenge and loved them all. Probably an age thing, but I guess I'll find out the whenever I get back to SFOG for Scorcher to compare. -

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

What about one of those Gerstlauer Bobsled coasters? Compact, no inversions, seats 4 (unless they're linked cars), great size and thrilling enough for whole family, and there hasn't been one built in the western hemisphere yet. -
Romon World to open in China

Holy cow, those are some seriously epic coaster choices. China's really picking it up in the amusement park industry. -
X-MAS Gift for the Alveys!
Midgetman82 replied to FreeFaller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Happy holidays, and a big thank you to the Alveys from me as well. Thanks for all the things you've done, including making ClubTPR! -
I giggled like an idiot when someone I know told me to open their present early, and it was an electric tea kettle. You don't know how much I've always wanted one of my own!

In Six Flag's era, the water park received Tornado (sitting in Quake's former location), Deluge (part of it taking up Chaos' previous space), Mega Wedgie, and a small water playground. Only Deluge had the biggest overall impact on the park, with Tornado a close second when it first opened. You're right in that the park's last years were much cleaner than its earlier times. I noticed it especially in the foliage and how there seemed to be a better amount of trees and bushes here and there. The park felt friendlier.

*sigh* I'll step out of the shadow and second this notion. I've enjoyed the show myself (Though I haven't caught up on the latest season at all, and I'm in no rush; It's just a show). I have done small doodles of my own version of characters from the show, along with other various cartoon drawings I still do; both fan-art and original. Apart from the only show-related merchandise I own, this is as far as it goes for me. I make it very, very clear that I do not associate myself with the "bad apples" of the group. Having bumped into certain parts of the community myself (^yeah, they exist. I don't recommend it.), I'm just as frightened about many aspects of it as many of you all are.

^^People just keep forgetting that Six Flags was putting more focus on the water park, which was where the park's newest additions were going. Anyone who lives within this region knows how hot and humid summers can sometimes get, so let's not forget that the water park was a huge draw for people to beat the heat, and that's where investments were made near the end of Six Flag's reign. Plus, slides are cheaper.

One of those two was never a real ride... in terms of dragons, Drachen Ice. Drop Towers: A.R.M. or Moser?
-
Sick of finals to the point I want to smash my head against a brick wall... or ride an old school Vekoma, or something..
-
Yes, although Dollywood would be out of their mind for commissioning TOGO to build them a coaster (if they were still in business). Would Volcano at Kings Dominion be a better coaster if it had an extra one and a half minutes completely within the volcano before hitting the final brake run?

^Six Flags Over Georgia's Batman, iirc. Guy lost his hat on the ride, his mind climbing the fence, and his head when he was kicked by a guy on the ride.
