  1. To be fair, even Lightning Run squeaks.
  2. A little roughness never keeps me from getting on one any coaster, but not being able to come off of a specific coaster without migraines is another thing. And some of us nitpick on these types of coasters, without first mentioning that we'd still ride them if we got the chance (and I'm more than certain it wouldn't keep TPR members from riding this )!
  3. ^^Oh yes, I'm a new fan of these types of drop towers after trying that one! It's "just" tall enough to freak people out on the way up, and enough for one to soak-in the falling sensation on the way down.
  4. I'll give them props on the drop because of how steep it looks. Outside of that... the entire transition into the corkscrew looks, um, uncomfortable to say the least. Who knows. Maybe China is going off of trial and error now, but then they'll surprise everyone with some quality coasters many years from now... or at least something that looks and feels rideable...
  5. Holiwood Nights 2014.
  6. Looking back at the size of The Legend parking lot, I think Holiday World has some pretty big plans in store for their future.
  7. I was at the park yesterday (third time at the park since opening). They definitely cut down on LMPD presence (I saw two still roaming here and there), but have placed a larger amount of ambassadors and other staffers to keep an eye on certain specific areas of the park, like a person was to keep watch on Lightning Run's queue. Other than that I do think the park is doing great for itself and is still learning how to handle itself very quickly. The biggest issues I can see are the types of crowds the park receives, which is generally out of Kentucky Kingdom's control due to its location. Smaller notes on the visit: -With the new bar under Lightning Run's hill, swaying is now nonexistent. Letting people pull down their lap-bars does help with loading capacity. Line starting from under the entrance sign is roughly 30-35 minutes with one train operations. -I do hope the park can get the Enterprise up and running soon! It'd definitely get more people to the east-side of the front-half of the park, which was pretty vacant apart from the sea lion show which is now going on (didn't get around to seeing it ). -I spotted landscaping crews planting flowers around certain areas of the family/kids area, which I thought was nice.
  8. The one thing I love about the 66 Days At Sea teaser is that I now have a better sense as to how it truly felt to wait so long to reach a place. You can almost imagine how euphoric they'd be once they spot land 45 days from now! Also, I feel as if Day 19 would be relevant right about now. (I see a horse in the second pic )
  9. I still love the more intimate size of the whole spinning gondola. Not mega like Cedar Fair's windseekers, but still great in presence. Looks quite nice.
  10. I nitpick about some stuff I'd hope to see worked on sometimes, but I'm still very, very happy to see that the park is on its feet again, and I do congratulate on the team getting it back up and running. The people of Louisville actually have a local park to go to! And concerning high schools being out, operations could probably get a boost now that there are more hands on deck in controlling rides and other staffers being in more places. Maybe rides like Deep Water Dive will have more lifeguards to get possible faster dispatch times?
  11. I need to avoid writing TR's in the wee-hours of the morning... Better yet, I just need to correct my sleep schedule.
  12. And possibly ordering a second train for Thunder Run. Public schools get out for the summer this Friday, so starting then through August, there will probably probably be a higher level of attendance to the park and any way to be more efficient would help; especially when the high heat and humidity kicks in.
  13. When everyone started speculating about a B&M again, my thoughts immediately raced back to the new B&M family coaster that's going into that chinese park... America's first B&M family coaster?
  14. Stinks to hear Enterprise isn't getting to operate anytime soon. They must be having problems getting it up and running due to how old it is. Also, I'm really glad to see T2 (Terror to the Second Power) will be getting an upgrade on its name: T3 (Cubed Terror! )
  15. Maybe Deluge is in the same situation as the River Ride, as they said that would open sometime in early July (or late June, I can't remember). I didn't see any rafts, but they were moving the conveyor belt and walking the flume when I was there.
  16. I'm gonna take advantage of this lazy day and marathon some coaster vids in bed.
  17. In terms of long one-train operations, I think they should give a call to Zierer for one of their mega-train Force/Tivoli coasters (or a super-stretch Elevated Seating Coaster, if within budget). But having never set foot in Darien Lake and being a wandering ghost of this thread, it's good to hear it's still providing some entertainment; compared to older reports I've heard from other certain parks in the U.S.
  18. Absolutely unreal. It's one thing to have an opinion about something and to voice them in (relatively) more appropriate manners. It's another thing to risk your life vandalizing city property to make your voice heard. Their intentions and expectations do NOT match many of their actions, and quite frankly, it gets them no further than did groups like the Westboro bunch.
  19. Great update, park looks beautiful. I hope to make it out there someday, because I'm sure the atmosphere is far different from the one in Tampa.
  20. Looks like a neat little ride! I'd definitely like to see more like it at smaller sized parks in the future. Thanks for sharing!
  21. Congrats on shedding so many pounds and being able to ride more coasters, and glad to hear you enjoyed Holiday World! It's definitely a great park. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Kings Island.
  22. I was incredibly surprised to see the golden arches on the tipping bucket as well, and sorta hoped it wasn't who I thought it was! Getting to the entrance of the drop tower is very complicated at first because of how you have to walk all the way around a building to get to it, but I do recommend trying it out at least once! Great amount of thrill found there, and they tend to pluck single-riders and double riders form the line when there's available seats. Great TR! you went into far more accurate details than my sleep-deprived mind could when I wrote mine.
  23. They practically staple everybody, so it might be a guaranteed squeeze. There's test seats outside of the entrance to try out as well, just in case. I came back home from a flight today, so I will most likely hit the park for the second time tomorrow.
  24. ^Parking is $8. I had a giant slice of pizza near the water park for $7.99, and I saw burgers go for $8.99 (seasoned french fries were much cheaper but I forget what it was). A drink (I believe) was somewhere under $4, but with season pass it's around $0.45, same for souvenir cup refills. I think you might get a better bang for your buck if you eat at one of the walk-in restaurants though. It's good to see students studying engineering confirming on the park's Facebook page about how certain structures need to sway, but it is pretty ridiculous this is getting attention.
