  1. A chairlift out of Christmas would be wonderful! But I wonder how the other end would fit in to the theme? An alpine chairlift out of Christmas into Thanksgiving?
  2. I think it would be much easier finding a group for Deluge than for a slide like Tornado or Plummet Summit. There's plenty of other slides for single riders anyways, in case you never get to any of those. And yes, hit the water park first thing in the morning, and I recommend doing Deep Water Dive first thing as well. Shortest lines that'll allow plenty of re-rides if you choose. I'm also glad to hear they loved it! Also makes me wish I was on the New Hotness tour, but alas, I had things to do.
  3. ^Banshee has a small amount of roar to it, though slightly muffled so it wouldn't bust out the little-ones' ear drums.
  4. Your joking right? I SERIOUSLY expected a bump in price increases next hear after this ride. Not just ticket prices but food and all. I'm simply amazed that they are doing this huge coaster and not upping prices at all. *Meanwhile, at Disney World...* *ahem...* I think that's great as well! I'm guessing the park has made enough revenue to it, and will probably make enough to keep it throughout the year.
  5. Are we forgetting every other aspect of a roller coaster that also ranks it highly? Smoothness, theming, quality, branding, seating, capacity, layout, speed, etc. Millenium Force isn't hugely forceful, but it's a fast, smooth, and highly re-rideable ride. Also, anyone guessing this ride's g-forces off of an animation... just stop. Please.
  6. I don't think either are trying to run the other out of business, it's all just competitive fun. In terms of dominating each other in presence though, that's a bit one-sided. For instance: One of 2 billboards I know of literally right next to the park. There's also one for Banshee not too far from the park, and even that is next to another HW billboard.
  7. It does stand alone as a thrill ride for sure, but the 60 mph launch, while still fast, does not make it overly intense for many younger riders, so that is why I still say it is a thrill ride the family (who are tall enough) can enjoy. I also think that is what HW was shooting for. I do not think "family thrill ride" has to be viewed with a negative connotation in all cases. Plus, I think Voyage might still deliver a more intense ride experience than this coaster might. While it does loop largely and launch, it'll most likely be more re-rideable. I think any kid who's brave enough to try the Voyage (and meet the height requirement for Thunderbird) will be brave enough to try this. Besides, isn't Voyage taller and faster with a smaller height restriction anyways?
  8. I'm with you on many things here. Being that this park is the second-closest to me, I couldn't be more proud for the park on making such a big and unique investment. The coaster looks like fun, and if the reviews for this coaster go even remotely on-par with the ones I hear from Wild Eagle (with obvious differences), then this coaster's sure to be a winner for Holiday World and their visitors.
  9. The coaster looks superb to me, especially for being Holiday World's first steel roller coaster (and I believe their first ride to pull inversions!). The layout looks plenty fun for what a wingrider could do, the theming the station looks looks to be pretty good (and love the touch up in memory of Will), and it's great that the area towards Hyena Falls will be getting quite some love. Definitely worth the walk back there, if not more-so than before. Seriously can't wait to try it out next year!
  10. That's exactly what KK's problem probably is now: out-of-the-area visitors that have a choice to visit either park would rather spend it at Holiday World. Both parks are now probably going to be butting heads a lot more. In the end, though, it's the visitors who win because both parks will start to see bigger projects emerge from each, thus drawing more visitors into the area to try them out. I'm interested to see where both will be headed for the next 3 to 5 years at the least...
  11. I'm sure there's a few (if not all) that produced a few bricks, before looking at each other. With the park back open, Holiday World sure is breaking out the big guns now.
  12. ^Never thought of that... moving there now.
  13. Best wishes for your belongings, and good luck on every aspect of the announcement! The world's listening!
  14. ^^They did say that they would make tonight's announcement before any certain type of construction began where we would be able to finally guess what's going in. Also, this thread is absolutely assaulting my inbox right now, haha.
  15. And you can't forget lots and lots of fire!!! "And the final plunge: Two whole minutes underwater!"
  16. I'll echo what the previous two have said. I can see a good surge in visitors once Rampage opens, though it'd probably be wise for them to include other thrilling dry attractions for big kids and young adults to enjoy by next year for good retention/more repeat visits.
  17. I started doing solo park trips since August of last year, starting with when my dad dropped me off at SeaWorld Orlando to spend the day there as he and my brother went to the airport to fly home a few hours before my afternoon flight, same-day. A lot of times, I'll just plan park trips out that I can do in a day and try to go for it solo. The furthest I've driven so far was Kings Island at 2 hours, and the longest overall trip was for Holiwood Nights (two day event) when I decided to go between Louisville and Santa Claus, Indiana, instead of renting a hotel room. Doing these are definitely not as fun as bringing a friend along (and I'd prefer visiting with friends), but I don't know any other people locally who are even remotely as interested in the amusement park industry as I am. I've also recently learned to befriend people at parks, and have finally started to bump into familiar faces at a couple of parks (namely Kentucky Kingdom and Holiday World)! Or you very awkwardly ask or are grouped with strangers...BTDT Done it twice at the same water park one day. First time, got a solo ride on a family raft . Second time, got paired with a random father and his kid... my new policy is: unless it has a single rider line or I can bump into someone else looking for a single rider, skip it.
  18. Checking back to the website, day 65 is disabled. Was today supposed to be day 65 or 64?
  19. This is the most grueling part of it all folks, lol. Two days left, time to bring it on home with stronger clues! Can't wait! I had thought about what it would really be like a while ago. The sentence made me laugh, but now I feel sorry for them.
  20. In regards to the photos, I'm betting a splashdown will be involved.
  21. I'm trying my hardest to lower my expectations because if it's not as good as we think it is then I won't be disappointed (which I don't think this will be the case), but if it's especially amazing then it'd be a good surprise! But it's hard to do that with all of this teasing and guessing going on! Excellent work Paula (and to everyone else involved)!
  22. Are there any indoor B&M coasters. What if (out of a wild guess) there'd be an indoor section like Verbolten?
  23. This park looks awesome! Love the theming all over the place, and the 10-looper looks fantastic with those OTH lapbar restraints! Also loving the look on the drop tower!
  24. Bring back the Enterprise! ^^ I hear those Take-Off's pull quite the G's! I fell in love with them even more after doing the one at Cedar Point. Somehow far, far better than Kings Island's! I think it stays up in that sweet spot much longer.
  25. Early-on many pages back, some said that Ed might want it to go back to its original color scheme. But there hasn't been any reports on it, as far as I'm concerned. (Man, I am posting here waaay too often.)
