  1. *Busch Gardens Tampa: Sheikra's first drop. Still fairly intense. *Cedar Point: A toss-up between Millennium Force's first drop, and when Top Thrill Dragster re-enter's earth's atmosphere. Both are epic beyond proportions. *Holiday World: Whenever Liberty Launch hits peak and pulls you back down. *Kentucky Kingdom: The first time you experience ejector airtime on Lightning Run, the first drop. *Kings Dominion: I305's first drop. *King's Island: Drop Tower. Last I experienced it was on a windy and slightly chilly morning when I was with the first crowd to ride. The strong winds shut it down for the rest of the day after we got off. Won't forget that anytime soon. *Nickelodeon Universe: Spongebob's Rock Bottom Plunge's first drop. *SeaWorld Orlando: I like Journey to Atlantis' drops more than any other's in the park. *Six Flags Magic Mountain: X2's first drop. *Six Flags Over Georgia: Acrophobia. Still my favorite vertical drop tower. *Universal IoA: The Incredible Hulk's first drop out of a barrel roll. *All of Walt Disney World: Expedition Everest's big drop out of the mountain.
  2. How to keep a reeeally big secret: 101, by Leah Koch. I'm still remembering how incredibly bewildered I was when they announced the ride would be a wingrider... and that it was going to have a launch...! I've said this many moons ago, but again: props to all of you on the incredibly hard work you've done to keep it under wraps! Many of us enthusiasts are very ferocious when it comes to parks holding secrets soon to be announced. Compared to the public slip-ups (or loose-ends) certain other parks have made this year with their announcements, you guys out-did them all! Edit: this is the second time I've said Holiday World has "out-done" something, and on the same page. I think I need to calm down for a bit.
  3. A bit off topic, but do you know how Thunder Run is usually a very tricky coaster to get a good photograph of? Well, when I last descended the stairs of Mile High's viewing platform 5 days ago, I looked forward and noticed that there was an opening revealing a sweet spot for Thunder Run's first airtime hill. I'm just now going through my camera's memory card and almost forgot about these shots. I felt a bit accomplished since I didn't have any good photos of the coaster until then! Front of train A bit more hairtime in this pic! Back of train
  4. Full-time junior-year student in college, working his way to a degree majoring in media arts & studies, and a minor in art studio. For some extra money in my pocket, I occasionally shoot photos for the university newspaper, and am trying to start up a payroll for video producing after having introduced it last semester. My picture of what future career I would want to land right out of college is still a little blurry, but I'm leaning towards working for a magazine as a photographer and/or videographer (a dream job would be working for a snowboard magazine out in the midwest).
  5. ^While gross and nightmareish, I fancied both of those games for a bit (a little more for SimCoaster, actually). Still didn't come remotely close to the level of any given RCT game.
  6. I've been getting updates from the team since backing them, and they recently did a stream where they designed a new ride for the game. It's an enterprise, and they uploaded a timelapse of it to YouTube. They're 15 days away from deadline, and only $6,230 away from their $50,000 goal.
  7. I'm sure they'll come up with something other than what Six Flags has done... I hope. They level'ed-up T-square to T-Cubed (remember, its original name was Terror to the Second Power). Maybe this'll become a next level Twisted Sist... er, Twisted Twins! Warped Twins? Even More Twisted Twins? Twisted Twins' Revenge? Twisted-Twisted Twins?
  8. ^The terrain in the four pictures seem like they're fixed. Desert with multiple mesas for western, and mountainous regions for the Americana. The sci-fi and adventure themes were close-ups, but I'd bet they might be fixed as well. My hope is for a complete sandbox. That's basically the only reason why I played the previous RCT games. Being able to start from scratch and fill a big map with whatever theme you so choose (or go with the game's list of themes, which the previous ones seemed to have a longer list of: buccaneer, adventure, spooky, etc...).
  9. It was an awesome coaster at KK. Smooth as glass, yet still had good intensity to it. Maybe its age is starting to catch up if it's giving any headbanging.
  10. Wow! Holiday World seems like they constantly outdo themselves with the corn maze designs year after year!
  11. On that note: Please stop casually and constantly flipping-birds at your friends in a family-oriented park, especially in/near family and kids areas. If you want to acknowledge that you can communicate with a friend or significant other that is currently on a ride, simply smile and wave.
  12. It's a good thing it's their only aqualoop model and not a whole line of them installed already, or else we'd probably be seeing this quite a bit. Still, a situation like this is quite nightmare-ish for both riders. Hopefully Polin will install sensors on it if they haven't.
  13. The flying scooters are alright (considering the amount of creaking it does that always freaks me out whenever I ride it ). But yes, not only have faster running programs for Breakdance, but also loosen some of the carriages to allow more spinning. Some barely spin at all, and it makes for a very tame ride. I remember it used to be so much more wild.
  14. I was too busy looking over the smaller details to even recognize that there wasn't any "real" rides in the game... At the least they better have basic carnival rides. Scrambler, Zipper, Chairswing, Roundup, Gravitron, etc. Things like that were what made the previous RCT expansion packs so exciting.
  15. It's bound to happen. I second this. I probably need to go back for a night ride on it someday. Until then, the day ride was far from any "religious experiences" some tout that it sometimes gave. I already got that from Voyage, so I might be a bit spoiled.
  16. Most inverted coasters, especially B&M's and Intamins. If I had to choose one from each category, then Montu and Volcano (or Tornado at Särkänniemi park, Finland, even though I've never been on it).
  17. The official Facebook page has all photos posted in high res, which means a better look at all the goodies shown so far. Source. From my observation... High-Res *Certain things in the game might look low-poly only because it's far away. *That chairswing ride looks to be themed to vultures carrying peeps in circles high above the ground, facing them down at about 45 degrees, and the Screamin' Swing chairs are actually wagons. High-Res *Remember that RCT3 animated scenery object that was a rocket that would turn 45 degrees before tilting back, then launching upwards only to stop and fall back down, then return to it's original position? I think it's a ride now (look to the far-right). High-Res *That huge-a## ferris wheel that held 100+ peeps made a return. High-Res *This pic feels a lot more like RCT3 to me than any of the other pictures. I still feel like this game has good potential in it, and I'm actually a little excited to see more. **Edited to include all of the pictures
  18. It's a fairly fun show, and something I'd recommend catching to get your full-day's worth out of the park. I went by the park yesterday and spotted Travel Channel filming with their hosts at the base of Deep Water Dive for Xtreme Waterparks. It was pretty interesting to see, and I was a bit surprised to see how small the crew was. Can't wait to catch that episode!
  19. ^Ah, I thought Vekoma was involved with the transfer track.
  20. I downloaded it for my iPad, but nothing happened. It wouldn't allow me to place anything and no tutorials worked.
  21. After looking through all of these pics and the added sci-fi pic, it's starting to look a lot more like an upgraded RCT3 (in a good way, to me at least). So far, I think it's promising, and hope to see more!
  22. ^ Sorta < Is okay with it as long as they're actually making money. v Doesn't really care about it.
  23. That stuck out to me the most, as well as the image of the game within the article: The ride on the top-right almost looks to be an S&S Screamin' Swing with a barnyard theme to it. Judging completely off of the image, I kinda like what I see in it.
  24. Not sure if it's any significance, but Six Flags White Water is replacing their freefall slide, Cliffhanger, with Dive Bomber.
  25. I usually never jump on things like this, but I found it promising enough to back it. Hope this is worth it!
