  1. I'm thoroughly impressed by how long these machines last compared to other companies. But does anybody feel that one of B&M's latest coasters would be the first to bite the dust before the much older ones? Or are we still sticking with Vortex? Personally, I can see Vortex getting relocated before it drops.
  2. Found this retro video by Psyclone Steve of when the coaster originally ran red.
  3. Banshee Though a wickedly awesome lap on Diamondback might make me reconsider.
  4. I'd hate to be that guy, but hopefully everyone knows Robb wasn't the one who took those pictures and videos. Just posted them.
  5. Re-themeing Gotham City to Gotham City Carnival. The area already LOOKS like a carnival in the middle of a city park. The carnival games and remote control trucks could finally fit the theming. Mindbender could actually be given a STORY. Like, say, Riddler turned an ordinary fair coaster into a Mind-Bending thrill ride. It just makes too much sense to not work. I'm all for it. I'd love to see this happen. It doesn't seem to require much extra effort from Six Flags based on what's already there. It almost makes its own consistent storyline as well: Folks venture out to a relatively quiet corner of town and pass under a railroad bridge to visit a carnival, hosted by the one, the only, Joker.
  6. ^No offense taken at all, seriously. With what happened back in 2011 in Ark Encounter receiving state incentives (which never fell through apparently) and Ed Hart (among others) not being able to reopen KK, it made me seriously question this state's government.
  7. Read more here I hope I'm not bending anything out of context by skipping a couple of lines, but I think you get the main gist of it.
  8. Funny how my distaste for SF slowly grew with them leaving Kentucky. But other than that, Over Georgia is my favorite. Probably because it's well rounded in terms of rides, the theming is a tad more consistent and the area is well forested, and it's one of Six Flags' original parks.
  9. I kept refreshing my ipad (due to the stream not being very mobile friendly) through the first 5 minutes of my class I was in it until I saw it finally connect! Congrats on topping it off! That last picture is glorious! Now, to tackle the rest of the track.
  10. ^Just goes to show how much we'd like to see this coaster up and going again.
  11. Kentucky Kingdom lets you re-ride for only certain flat rides, like FearFall. You gotta go around for the roller coasters, even if the line was empty.
  12. I did my visit to the park yesterday, might try to do a trip report on it whenever I can. Thank you to whoever told me Sundays were dead, I finally got my fill of Banshee rides (and plenty more) to make up the five-hour wait on opening day for a single ride! All rides were running quite well aside from some minor roughness on The Beast, Vortex, and (to my surprise) Flight of Fear. After 12 laps, I also got to experience the rattling and thigh crushing (on certain specific seats) of Banshee. Yeah, it's impossible to not notice, but neither made the ride unrideable or any less fun, imo.
  13. I sat through some of the Mckamey Manor's videos (mainly the 2012 full experience video, in which he only uploaded 10 of the 20 that showed the entire experience). It's brutal, enough said. It's super interesting to watch though, because he very explicitly states to people what they're going to go through, has them sign some sort of explicit waiver, and try to talk them out of it. So the ones that do end up going through should know what they're in for, and if they complain... well, they volunteered to do it. This is only one of three of the top interactive haunts, along with Ringling Brothers' Victim Experience in Las Vegas, and Blackout located in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. The latter utilizes no blood or costumes, but has very heavy sexual content.
  14. If you look at the park as a whole with the inclusion of T3, it'll actually make the park's skyline very vibrant. The bright blue (and dark green) of Lightning run, the purple of Fearfall, the orange and yellow of the ferris wheel, the brown of Thunder Run, and now the (possibly) green of Skycatcher and the red of T3. imo, the red is going to make the park feel that much more friendly than the solid black. But I'd agree on maybe sneaking in a second color. Or better yet, a custom paint job! (Firewhip at Beto Carrero World) What Eurfighters have you been on? DDD is smooth as grass. He obviously meant a Eurofighter that uses over the shoulder restraints, not lap bars. Still, I didn't have a problem with Spongebob's Rock Bottom Plunge (I loved it, actually).
  15. Dan stated here in a tweet two days ago: @hump1989: "hey dan you road rampage yet" @splashindan: "waiting on new chain still"
  16. ^With where Dominator is positioned in that photo, you wouldn't have a SkyCoaster! ^^Sounds nice on paper, until you realize the amphitheater is on the complete opposite side of where the Exposition center is. So there's no possible way to directly connect the exposition center with it.
  17. That's a good spot for the live cam actually. When the loop starts going vertical, would the camera be pointed towards it while also providing views of Voyage?
  18. Most coasters have gotten smooth to the point you can't consider them white knuckle thrills (unless they're just so uncomfortable). For me, hands-up, unless it's a gentle ride or a ride with lots of straight/gentle bits (kiddie credit, Hurler at KD, etc...), then i just keep my hands down.
  19. "Hiiiiiiiiighwaaaay tooooo the DANGLEY ZONE!" Haha, most of the inverted/suspended/feet-dangling rides are in one area (minus Windseeker).
  20. That's going to be one giant inversion! Imagine the sight of the orange track poking above the trees from a distance. Looking good! My budget's set to hit one more park this season, but I'm trying to scrape up some money to also hit Holiday World one more time just to see Thunderbird!
  21. ^Still better than head-to-restraint banging. I'd much rather take that (or Vekoma's vests) than bring back the old trains. Besides, T3 never really gave headbanging as much as it did kinda jerk your whole body around anyways. Lighting Run looks almost inverted from this angle! It practically is!
  22. I'd really like for parks to start lighting their park, and LED's seem like they do a pretty good job at them. Maybe not overly illuminating every crack and crevice of the park, but maybe give something pretty to look at like only illuminating rides (or just the taller ones so you can see them from a distance).
