  1. On my overall favorites, it's sitting at #10. Right under Maverick.
  2. This I loved the most... Putting aside my love of coffee and Starbucks, this totally counts as theming and I love that they're aware of this. I'm sure it's minor to most of you, but a little bit of thought going into the implementation of things relative to what's already there (ESPECIALLY coming from a corporate-chain owned park) goes a long way. Props to you, Kings Island. Also love that they're paying attention to things other than getting big new rides for 2015. It's part of what makes a park worth coming back to!
  3. That North Star looks quite unnerving, but the entire ship looks absolutely incredible! Indoor pool with retractable roofing, bumper cars, the restaurants, and the amount of space on the ship! I'm certain when it's parked, it gets it's own zip code.
  4. ^ & ^^ Nothing's been released yet. People are just assuming it's going to be blow-your-mind amazing... which it could be, but which one of us here really knows (other than Evan)?!
  5. Walt Disney World, no second-thoughts on that one. I prefer theming and an "experience" than an island inhabited by a huge collection of world-class roller coasters. A park that themes their thrill rides get extra points by me!
  6. Revisiting the former site of my first looping coaster, Viper, would probably jerk some tears, then I'd be bawling over the current state of the park it was in. Six Flags Astroworld.
  7. I noticed whenever I went to the park, Drop Tower would be up and running when the park opens, but close after 3 or 4 runs with people onboard due to high winds. If you wanna ride that at all, make it the first ride you hit when you enter. Of course, thermal wear and gloves are also recommended if it's gonna drop to anywhere around the 40's for most of the day.
  8. Man, you guys are really feeding your fans this stuff! (Admittedly, I'm one of them No shame.) This is what I'm more excited about as well. It's always amazing to see the park expand and get more stuff for visitors to enjoy, no matter how big or small.
  9. It's not that close, but it sure is hard to miss!
  10. If you're going to exclude T2, then you'll need to exclude Condor at Walibi as well. T2 was the world's second SLC. Condor was the first, and both are the only SLC prototypes in existance.
  11. If it helps, I don't remember seeing any fountains last I was there in 2012.
  12. Did a quick swoop by the park for a look at the paintjob on T3. Just a couple buckets short of completion it seems! The single color palette will definitely make it easier to spot from a distance a train running the track. The bright afternoon sun made for a badly exposed shot, but I wanted to point out how the park is introducing quite a bit of color into the lineup of rides. The blue/green/dark-green/purple of Lightning Run, the orange and red of Deep Water Dive and blue of Wave Runner, and now the red of T3, plus whatever color the new Skycatcher will be (possibly green?).
  13. Yeah, the foliage of the whole park was absolutely gorgeous yesterday. Lots of sun, with the bright colors of the trees, and leaves constantly falling. That mixed in with the theming in the Halloween and Thanksgiving areas adds so much to the park, and gives it a different vibe compared to the green of summer.
  14. I don't know when I'll ever come by the area (probably coming from Atlanta to hit this and Spring Valley Beach water park someday), but I'd love to get a ride on Rampage. It looks like an epic coaster considering its location! Sounds great!
  15. I did a quick visit to the park today with a friend, mostly to see Thunderbird but I also wanted to try the park's Halloween event for the first time. Frankly, I'm a whimp when it comes to haunted walkthroughs and haunted houses, but I definitely tried two of the three Holiday World had, Carnival Chaos and Treasure Maze. Carnival Chaos got surprisingly creepy at one point and had a very well-done startle, but the icing in it was definitely the swallowing clown and the very-effective mirror maze! We both really enjoyed it, so props to the park! I'll spare you the photos with the same angle as previous ones from others. I'll show the more unique ones. The ride looks pretty big from a distance, especially when you're on the highway coming to and from the park. Up close, you can easily admire the curves! Even the jack-o-lantern was excited for 2015! The Treasure maze was neat as well. Little scares, mostly wandering. I wish I had done the Holidog 3D maze, but I don't think I missed much. Still, props to the park for having a neat kid-friendly halloween event. Surprisingly creepy, but I think that's the reason why I'd love to do it a second time! You can see my friend lost somewhere inside the maze with a new "friend."
  16. ^I agree, wholeheartedly. The sensation of flying is better (and more smoother) on wingriders than on flying coasters, in my opinion.
  17. That theming looks pretty cool. Definitely looks like something of WhiteWater's doing (of course, I could be wrong).
  18. I... don't think there's a reaction picture that could justify the level of face-palming right now... People can be so stupid. Edit: The other person that sued the park was interviewed, saying he only wants his medical bill covered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6XbT12btHw
  19. ^They'll paint the trains a solid red. Restraints, seats, bars, wheels, bearings, bolts, everything. Riders will be given a red morph suit, one size fits all. In 2016 they'll repaint the concrete, fences, and plants around the ride a solid red. The park map will showcase a red blob instead of the location of a coaster. This is only phase one.
  20. I'm betting the splash was too abrupt. Most shoot-the-chutes that create huge splashes also have huge lap-bars that riders are sort-of thrown into when the boat hits the water. Plus, the boat on Pilgrim's Girrafic Plunge lurched forward pretty hard when it slows down harshly.
  21. That overbanked turn! Looking real good! You haven't read all the reviews then. Not sure if you mean how most people talk of the park being great, or how people sometimes complain about the park, due to how vauge your wording is. Holiday World has its ups and downs (hehe), and many downs mostly come from when certain coasters become brutal and require some love from the Coaster Cats (at least from my observations and experiences).
  22. I don't know about any of you, but I don't mind that shade of red.
  23. Sounds kind of exciting for the parks you guys listed, actually. It'd be great to hear those parks finally get some love it deserved under a company that can actually give it to them. I'm just hoping they don't end up pulling a Six Flags and suddenly choose to close or abandon some of the parks instead, but I don't see that happening...
  24. I can see why people would prefer Diamondback over Banshee. It's sooo different from the other coasters in the park that are just simply intense, while it's just pure unadulterated fun.
  25. ^Maybe because it wasn't as intense as as other Top Spins when it first opened? I wouldn't know since I never rode the original, but it looks amazing. Oh, and I finally posted my Trip Report from Sunday, October 5th.
