Those Booster/Speed/Capriolo/SkyScraper/etc rides seem like they take this and run with it, with some getting to pretty outstanding heights; especially considering most are transportable! Mondial builds a Capriolo that seats 10 and swings 158 feet (48 meters) off of the ground, and they also build one called Turbine that seats 20 and swings 203 feet (62 meters) off of the ground!

Bathroom and Pepsi Oasis maybe? The rides are pretty far out, so they would most likely need one close by. -
*I passed around Kentucky Kingdom a few days ago. The park was pretty much dead. *If you're looking to score their $59.95 season pass before they go up to $99.95, they extended it until the deadline of "when the billboards come down" on January 11th. *The weather in the area has been much nicer this month compared to the previous two months...

This is so far the only bird-themed wing coaster that doesn't have a literal bird on it, let alone a wing coaster without a face on the front car (I think the only other one without some sort of face is X-Flight). It's a bit of a nice change of things, if you ask me. -

The flywheel is used to power the electronic magnets that launch the train, not pull the train itself. I don't think roll-backs are as eminent on this. And even if they did, they're sure to slow the train down well before the station. -
Six Flags question

^Which Six Flags parks could even fit a Giga? I know Magic Mountain could monitarily get one, but then there's the question of where they would put it. -

Recounting my last visit to Cedar Point last year, I can definitely say that this is far from the truth. Kings Island's bathrooms (although better) aren't super-clean either. -

By the way, Paula, the park's media team is doing an excellent job in covering the park! Even small Thunderbird updates and flat-ride relocation videos go a long way for people yearning to return for next year. Plus, they're quite entertaining to watch. Hmm, I'm starting to notice the past few pages on this thread have been consisting mostly of praise and compliments toward the park. It's quite a change from other threads I read every now and then. It is still no match for any Intamin drop tower. I thought the same, until I rode a Larson/ARM tower for the first time. Scary. -

Seems they're way ahead of us in re-theming the ride! The new location suits the swings waaay better than the previous! If only it was a bit taller, but hey, it's still fun and friendly to families. For 2015, we'll add seating to that area, in anticipation of something else taking that spot in 2016. You know, Holiday World really doesn't have a drop tower. Is Liberty Launch not good enough for 'ya? When did Liberty Launch become a drop tower? It is a tower ride with plenty of airtime, and it's one of my top favorite tower rides because of it. If you still want a pure freefall experience, then I guess that's up for discussion. Also, I don't think I've seen so many quoted posts in one post before... how far can we go? -

Not at all. If anybody's learned anything, it's that you and everybody that help run Holiday World are the masters at teasing. That's worthy of an award or something! -

I doubt the light package would need changing (and even if they did, It shouldn't cost the park an arm and a leg to reprogram it). I think the issues would be the color scheme and the decals on the banners between the arms, though. The red stump that's at the new location looks very similar to Sparkler's current base. I figured it would be either Sparkler, or the Flying Scooters. -

^Great photos, thank you for sharing them. Maybe it's my interest in ride theming talking, but I'm especially interested about the themed possible head-chopper tunnel at the bottom of that ridiculous drop! It looks like it was modeled in NL, but in a very good way! What is the ride supposed to be themed to, exactly? -
Embarrassed of parks...
Midgetman82 replied to outbackjack's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This, word by word. People don't tend to learn about my interest in amusement parks until we're a bit closer as friends (or they decide to look me up almost anywhere online). The coaster community hasn't publicly embarrassed themselves and there's plenty of less-praised groups out there in the world, so I feel no shame in sharing what I know and gain from it with immediate friends (inviting them out to parks and events, etc.). None of my IRL friends love amusement parks as much as me, but my two best friends and I tend to still have a pretty good time whenever we're out at a park. -

Wow, parks have been eating up those rides. They must be getting an amazing deal on them for them to be popping up in so many places! Now I have another ride to be excited to try out for the first time next year! -

Correct me if I'm wrong (and you guys are probably right), but I dont think they ever specifically mentioned that the ride would recive more near-misses. They still have it under wraps. For all we know, they're going to add even more LED's, or maybe a neverending waterfall to commemorate Giraffica. (Shout-out to Kings Island ) -

That's what a lot of maintenance sheds I've seen for B&M coasters use them for. I'd assume since this is the park's only B&M coaster, they wouldn't need to carry the trains off to a separate area of the park to work on them during off-season. -

Consider me late to the party considering I only catch wind of the coaster through twitter, but... wow, this thing is huge. Also, after seeing the timelapse, I finally understand why they can't work at a faster pace like Holiday World. Much like what LarryGator said, HW had to put up most of the ride before the harsher parts of winter sets in. But Fury also has to deal with inclement weather and strong winds. Thunderbird is mostly forested, so not much wind is batting against it and the construction crew, while Fury is several hundred feet above and away from any tree lines. Plus, Thunderbird doesn't require lifting large chunks far off of the ground. -

Something like an Air Race would probably pull me to finally give the park a first-time visit in 2015... 'Tis a shame I'm a Kentuckian who still hasn't been to BBP yet. -
