  1. ^^Goliath at Six Flags Great America, about a five hour drive north. After that is Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City, over 7 hour drive west.
  2. 1. The Beast - Kings Island 2. Millenium Force - Cedar Point 3. Voyage - Holiday World 4. Mean Streak - Cedar Point 5. Sperman: ROS - Six Flags America
  3. There was once an entire PDF file with many pages on what would have come to the park, including 3D renderings of slides. Some of it included quite a number of speed slides, including this complex... Of course, none of them would have stood out among other water parks in the region, and we wouldn't have gotten the monstrosity that is Deep Water Dive. First of its kind!?! I'm very intrigued. As am I. Ed and his team always have something up their sleeves that makes the park a little more worth visiting, which is what I love about them!
  4. ^^Indeed. Not a whole lot of airtime, I don't believe, but huge amounts of lateral g-forces.
  5. Never doubt what a small coaster is capable of, especially considering the hundred-foot tall coaster located at the front of the same park. It doesn't need high speeds. I'm sure whoever would be brought in to redo/retrack it would have plenty of turns and dips to work with to make it an enjoyable ride.
  6. I don't mean to burst your bubble or anything, but, aren't most water water slides like that?
  7. ^If it's anything like my area's preparing for, then no. I'm about 2.5 hours south and we're getting prepared for daytime single-digit, nighttime -10 to -20 degree weather. And give the park patience. They wouldn't want their audience going gaga over a train idling in and out of the station now and then. Look on the bright side. on the day they're confident in going full power, you might see the train running the rest of the track!
  8. I had many concerns for the snowflex concept as well (and personally didn't like the editing in that video at all). I YouTubed a few videos that I think explains it more. This one is the better so far: And a close up from one in the UK: Of course, I would also advise YouTubing "Snowflex" as there's plenty more where that came from. The slope works with light sprinkles with water and has a sort of mesh surface to allow your ski/board to grip on turns and stopping. According to the first video, theres 2 inches of shock padding under the surface to cushion falling. It looks like an okay system, only that it looks like there's more friction against whatever you're riding, that is, until you get to a certain speed. I'd love to try it someday, but I'm with Elissa on being worried on this not working well in Florida due to the humidity and random inclement weather patterns. How many high-energy activities go on in Florida or just Orlando, apart from maybe wake boarding or skydiving (or theme park trekking, for some)? This is especially worrisome if riders may be required to wear long-sleeve clothing. Maybe it'll work especially good in the exact same seasons as most other actual ski resorts, when the weather gets less humid/less hot during fall, winter, and spring seasons? (I don't know how long the humidity lasts since I only visit Florida on occasion.)
  9. Total assumption: Maybe the square hole is for the mechanics of the ride? Then they'll pour a round concrete floor when they've installed the base? Aye. Mat racers would be an excellent addition to the water park!
  10. Minecraft Mods
  11. Uhh, I like Sprite and Sierra Mist equally. I don't really drink Coke or Pepsi due to the weird "gritty" effects it has on my teeth. But if I had to pick between which I'd rather grab, then it would be Coke.
  12. My washing machine scares the crap out of me, and my dryer takes too long... Hashtag Laundry Day
  13. First time posting in this thread, I do believe. If there was anything I'd to say, then I think it would be summed up to what you just said. Well put. Midgetman "I'm not bitter, I'm just focusing on myself for a while" 82
  14. There was a lot of farming equipment out by the park this weekend. Whether they were to help landscaping at the park or be for the BMX competition that had gone on at the expo center, I'm not sure. I don't think they're parts for a ride.
  15. The scooper ride photo comment is the best response in there, hands-down.
  16. Aquatica's pretty wonderful. Even if it's crowded to the point you can't get on most of the slides, it's easy to enjoy the atmosphere of the water park.
  17. The shape of that yellow funnel looks so... wide! Park looks pretty good though, especially the green slides.
  18. ^If you can help it, I really recommend avoiding the basic GoPro Hero and the Hero 3/3+ white editions. I bought the GoPro Hero 4 Silver this Christmas, and after having owned the Hero 2 before it, I've been very impressed by its capabilities so far.
  19. It's coming in from a really steep upward helix (or "carousel"). So I'm certain part of that curve on the first part you mentioned is the track ending the carousel, then it straightens out before transitioning into the roll.
  20. Update for me: Canon 60d and T3i DSLR's -8mm f/3.5 -14mm f/2.8 -17-40mm f/4 -18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 (Yay for kit lenses ) -50mm f/1.8 -55-250 f/4.5-5.6 -100-400mm f/4-5.6 Also a Canon XA10 that I'm still trying to get acquainted with! I want to sell some of my lenses someday in return for faster ones. My latest two was the 14mm and the 50mm after having sold a Tamron 18-200mm.
  21. ^^^^Jealous! Looks gorgeous out there.
  22. Watered-down milkshake? Rally's, how could you?!
  23. Compared to the park's current lineup, I think it easily justifies the loss of Power Surge and is sure to be a huge hit!
  24. I love the play of hands cutting clean through the wood. Someone was obviously too confident in those hand-choppers! Not frequently active, but I drop on it now and then. Just say the word, I definitely have mine ready!
