For sentimental and preservative reasons, sure. For ride experience? Eh, Its replacement is regularly garnering a much bigger queue. They are definitely foreceful, the problems is the roughness and headbanging This. The forces tend to get lost in the roughness, though. Also T2 wasn't exactly a headbanger as much as it was something that just rattled your entire body around.

Last time I used Wifi in the park was with a friend last fall. We tried watching YouTube videos while eating, and it took quite a while for the videos to load. Like they said, it's there and it works but don't expect any fast speeds. Also, I too am ready for Holiwood Nights! Just gotta remember to bring my rain jacket and DeLorean. -
Cyclos finally opened to the general public yesterday with much excitement to be had. Off the bat, It ended up being my favorite flat ride in the park because of the fact it's one of the few that totally flips riders, and the only one that actually holds people upside down! Lots of people screamed their heads off on it, which was also funny to see! I had about 3 rides on it throughout the day, and the waits averaged roughly 40-50 minutes each time stretching all the way towards Professor John's Flying Machines' sign. The LED package on the ride is also amazing! The park's closing time yesterday was 9pm, so the colors on the lights really stood out more! First ride I hit that morning, before heading for the water park. It averaged one flip with many stalls, and occasionally two flips. After spending some time in the backside of the park, I came back towards the front to ride some more. Around this time, the ride was averaging anywhere between 1-4 complete flips. So I'm assuming it's based upon the operator. Awaiting the next victims... er, I mean, happy riders! Did I mention it had a pretty LED package? Because it has a pretty LED package! And I do mean pretty! I forgot to bring a mini clamp/tripod for stable longer exposed shots, but these will do. I couldn't help but notice it while walking towards my car that night, especially compared to the park's other rides that have almost no lights on them (apart from Breakdance). Unrelated to everything above, I almost didn't notice that Lightning Run lost its squeakiness.

The walking distance from park entrance to Thunderbird is longer than the distance from park entrance to Banshee or Diamondback, though walking to the far opposite side of Kings Island would definitely be further (Like walking to the Beast probably). ^^^Isn't most of that footage taken from other videos? -

Great review of the park. Seems we were only one day apart, as I had the opportunity to go in the afternoon on Sunday for a few hours (after celebrating mother's day). I can agree with some of the things you had to say (though operators seemed friendly enough throughout the park), especially about the 5D film on Wizard of Oz. It was a nice tribute to the film though, and of course worth doing to get out of the heat. One exceptional difference between our visits was that I seemed to have shorter waits for most rides. If you do visit the park again this year, I highly recommend adding the water park to make the price of admission much more worth it! Sorry to hear you couldn't enjoy Skycatcher all that well. Personally, I feel slightly uneasy on certain tall star flyers as well, but I can say that the nice breeze and the view of the park and surrounding area at the top make it worth a try. Skycatcher was very gentle, but did spin surprisingly faster than I had anticipated! The ride also sits in a funky spot and quite alone apart from the Big Wheel, but I'm sure the isolated feeling should change when the water park and T3 open. I thought it was wonderful to see Enterprise up and running again after all of these years! The ride was very fun and had a very satisfying cycle length to it. I got to enjoy it twice that day, once before heading towards the second half of the park, and the other when I returned! Lightning Run is just as wild (and squeaky ) as it was last year with just as strong of insane ejector airtime and twistyness to it, Thunder Run had a little more jerking in it but was still fairly enjoyable with a short wait, and every other ride in the park seemed to deliver just the same amount of thrills compared to last year. Here's some of my photos from the day: New shortcut to FearFall! Awesome! Cyclos, with its vibrant purples/reds/oranges contrasting against Lightning Run's blues/teals, sits pretty within the twisted spaghetti bowl of steel. Looking at this reminds me of Hollywood Studios (or whatever Disney's calling it now) Long Live the Enterprise! 117 feet of "wow this is fast!" For the park index? Slight small hiccup that required testing, so they got everyone off. Eventually, though, they got it going! Tall enough to be hard to miss throughout the park. Oh, can't forget to grab closer shots of Cyclos! No testing today. but its colors sure do look great in the sunset.

Rio Grande train is definitely where it should be. I would agree in seeing some more things surrounding the ride other than bare concrete, but the previous location didn't have a whole lot as well apart from some foliage. Cyclos looks pretty good! It's a slight bummer it won't be opening sooner (like this upcoming weekend), but at least we have fixed dates to go off of for it and T3.

On my first ever visit to Holiday World back in 2012 for Holiwood Nights, I chose to ride each coaster oldest to newest. Raven was easily enjoyable for all the reasons Robb stated. Legend absolutely blew my mind and became my favorite in the entire park, despite how much bracing was required to handle its intense laterals. Voyage left me exhausted after each ride, leaving me to only enjoy it 5 times on the fist night, compared to the 13 on Legend. The next year I got to ride Voyage, after they did the retracking in the spaghetti bowl, was when it became my favorite in the entire park. Agreed, I never want Voyage to change. Legend on the other hand.... I think Legend would be a far better candidate for a VERY twisty RMC makeover given its current layout, location, and topography! -
^That would be nice, but I think that would involve a complete retrofit where the wave machine's pumps are located to install a projector and screen? ^^^^Thanks for the report. I couldn't make it due to being buried in schoolwork, and probably won't get to go until finals are completed two weekends from now. Glad to hear they had a crowd though, and long live the Enterprise!

I think an airtime machine would do wonders for the park. As far as I know, there aren't that many of them in Orlando, let alone Florida. It's always a nice change of pace when you go from inverting rides or rides with strong positive forces, to a ride that lifts you out of your seat back-to-back-to-back.

Ah, the reviews begin rolling in. It's understandable that you'd be exhausted after 12 hours starting in the early A.M. Thank you all for sharing, nonetheless! ^Your second photo is probably one of the better (if not the best) launch photos I have seen come from media day! The first photo of the sunrise is gorgeous too! -

The annual coaster enthusiast event that goes on at Holiday World in late May. Having been twice to it (making this year a third!), I can say that it's definitely the most fun I've ever had in the park! The late-night rides on all of their major rides make it all worth the price alone! It's open to coaster club card carrying members only (including ClubTPR), unless you're a guest of one in which case you can go. More details here -

Well, theming gets many plus marks from me, so I'm very interested to see how well it was all done whenever I get out to the park this year! I'm also excited for Holiwood Nights for night rides, which I am finally confirmed for! -

I was expecting (and hoping) that this thread would be exploding with things about Thunderbird as well! I suppose that's because only those with access to the media day went since the park still has yet to open to the public. There's also tomorrow for season passholders to try it out, so we'll be hearing from them as well. Thunderbird does look fun! I can't wait to try it out, it seems everyone that had tried it today don't have anything negative to say about it! ... well, that is until the "real" enthusiasts try it out! -
Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

When I went last summer, we were able to go where we wanted. I can't remember if there was an employee assigning rows or not, but usually at KI they were friendly enough to let us request a row if polite. That said, we didn't ask for the front, so I'm not sure how strict they are. They were assigning everyone to a row when I was there on opening day last year. When I returned on a dead Sunday in october they were doing it again close to when the park opened that day, but then let people go into a row of their own choosing for the rest of the day. I'm guessing it all depends on the level of crowds for that given day. -
Kings Island opening day 2015
Midgetman82 replied to thrillrider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^That would be a pretty excellent idea, and give the park something totally unique for the region. My only concern for it is its capacity or PPH. Great report. Considering my experience on opening day last year, I figured it would be packed this year as well. At least you enjoyed your time there. Thanks for sharing! Kentucky Kingdom has the same belts for their gliders (though Holiday World doesn't... hmm). I can understand why parks would opt for the operator-released belt considering the weight of the tubs when they swing could probably knock a kid over if they attempt to disembark prematurely.
