According to their Twitter, Goldrusher is closed. Maybe for painting? And who is to say that Scream! won't get painted? If you didn't know, 2010 is the year the park is trying to get all the parks looking like new for 2011. Al the parks are going all out and painting everything.

It was closed today as well. More water dummy testing late in the afternoon / evening.
Why would they be doing this again?
I think maybe the two other trains arrived and they need testing.

Looks great! And heres to hoping it lasts a little longer!
Does anyone have pictures of the old banner?
Theres some on the internet. But it looked terrible. The new one looks so much better and I believe it is actually welded to it. I may be wrong.

Or Mini Viper since Little Dipper is a woodie.

I haven't been on Bizarro, I've been on it as SROS. But if it is anything like Bizarro/Medusa at SFGadv, I believe the new effects and sound made it a worse ride. So i wouldn't get my hopes up for Bizarro at SFNE. I have heard that the SFNE version suffered the same problems, the sound being too loud, and just a less fun ride. It makes it not very re-ridable. (this of course is my own opinion so take it has just that, an opinion)
You heard wrong then because Bizarro at SFNE is nothing like what you have at Great Adventure, no offense but yours sucks. The audio was only loud on Media Day and a few days after and gradually it got turned down to where it is now. All the effects are always working and aren't unmaintained like at GADV. In my opinion all the effects made the ride better. Espescially the buildings, why? Because the speed you are going at there, close to the top speed, and weaving through buildings and then finally through one is a great experience. Do not listen to what Medusa1861 said about Bizarro at SFNE, they didn't ride it and are basing facts over what they experienced on Bizarro at GADV.
^ Thanks, I never knew I could hear an opinion wrong. And the bigger lapbars that make the ride less fun, that opinion is wrong too? (This opinion came from a source who has been on way more roller coasters than I have.)
And by the way. Superman: Ride of Steel is overrated. It's a good ride, but I like Volcano more. I also hate sound, I feel it ruins the ride. But I guess you can't take that opinion from me, because apparently I'm wrong.
Yeah I agree about the bigger lap bars but SFNE had to add those, they originally had El Toro lapbars but due to the accident of the obese man falling out they had to add bigger ones. Its for safety. How could you like Volcano more, you just get launched up then do a few barrel rolls, what a bucket of joy that is. And yeah your opinion is wrong. You base your opinion on a ride that is nothing like a ride you've actually ridden. The two Bizarro's are completely different. Medusa-Bizarro is a mess of things, nothing makes sense, which its supposed to be like that. Bizarro at SFNE tells the story its supposed to and the theming is good. It is better than any ride you'd find at KD.
At KD you have Dominator which looks good but rough, then at SFNE you have Batman, all the similar inversion excluding a cobra roll, but smoother.
Bizarro and I305 are similar but personally, other than the drop and first turn, I305 looks like a bore.
Plus at SFNE you have some unique flats like Catapult, well actually now there is only one unique flats. They were all prototypes that broke and the companies no longer make parts for them. You have a good flat to coaster ratio. You could do SFNE in about six hours then drive twenty or so minutes to LC which has the amazing Boulder Dash and a ton of good flats.
SFNE and LC are closer to GADv which will make everything better. I don't know this was just my opinion on everything. However at BGE you have Griffon which looks amazing but other than that nothing else looks to fun.

They are starting this year because they are trying to make the parks look like new for the anniversary. If you notice all the parks are painting things that need painting really bad.

^I think all the parks are a contender for the 5D ride. I bet each SF fansite has some speculation on that there park is getting it, it is just natural.

Well I305 to me doesn't look that exciting and LC and SFNE are two excellent parks. Bizarro is an amazing ride and not being able to ride I305 won't be that bad because Bizarro would make that up. Plus at LC you have Boulder Dash, the most incredible woodie out there. So you will be able to ride two awesome woodies now because of El Toro.
I have not been to KD or BGE but I have been to both SFNE and LC so that is just my opinion. LC is a very family friendly atmosphere and has some great flats.

SFNE doesn't have any indoor ride other than Houdini. A dark ride would be greatly appreciated there.

It starts in 2010 and ends in 2011, a two year celebration. Thats what I've heard.

Six Flags, 5D Announce Attraction Agreement
On Tuesday, 5D International (Booth #5503) announced an agreement with Six Flags Inc. to bring its first 5-D attraction to the United States.
Andreas Kornprobst, art and media producer for 5D, said he cannot discuss any particulars of the deal at this time—what type of attraction it will be, which park it will go into, when it will open, etc.—but confirmed it will be an anchor attraction as part of Six Flags’ 50th anniversary celebration in 2010.
“We’re very glad Six Flags joined us in a press release for IAAPA [Attractions Expo], as this is the event of the year—the most important show,” he said.
So what do you guys think this is about?

^^No there isn't, I just found that and thought I'd share it along, sorry.
It also seems like it is a reasonable thing to put in. Although I wouldn't call a Vekoma Rollerskater a family coaster, its a kiddie coaster, in my eyes.

Can anyone say Road Runner Express from SFNO?
Valencia, CA – Six Flags Magic Mountain will open their 17th roller coaster in 2010, tying Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio for the most roller coasters in a single park. While park officials didn't reveal the name or theme, the roller coaster won't exactly be new. Six Flags is recycling this family coaster from their closed theme park in New Orleans, where it operated under the name Road Runner Express.
This roller coaster last operated in August 2005 and closed along with Six Flags New Orleans after the park suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Katrina.
After standing unused for several years, the roller coaster was recently moved to Plainview, Texas where it's being refurbished before moving to its new home at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Known as a "Roller Skater", this 28-foot tall junior coaster has a single eight-car train that rides on 679-feet of steel track. The roller coaster is a product of Netherlands based Vekoma.
This family coaster will appeal to families, since both an adult and child can sit in the car, allowing parents to ride alongside their children.
Six Flags plans to position the coaster in the southwest corner of the park, beside Déjà Vu and Johnny Rockets concession. The park will remove an old theatre building to make room for the new attraction.
For Southern California thrill-seekers this family coaster may seem familiar. Two other Roller Skater models can be found at Castle Park in the Inland Empire and another, Gadget's Go Coaster, is at Disneyland Park in Orange County.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is expected to reveal the name and theme by the end of the month. There have been some Internet rumors circulating that claim the theme may be based on Six Flags mascot, Mr. Six.

^ Well, we could restart the debate about those coin operated lock boxes, but we'll spare you that, too.
I've not ridden either, but is (Mr. Six's) Pandemonium at SFNE the same ride as THBS or at least a near clone? From pictures they look similar to each other. I bring this up because I believe that this type of coaster is a good candidate for next year's ride.
Eric
Well there are different versions of the THBS, like the one at SFFT, SFOT, and SFStL are all the same. The one in SFDK has its own layout and same with Pandemonium.

Catapult at SFNE has terrible down time. It wasn't as bad this year but it usually opens a few hours after the park opens. Plus it is extremely uncomfortable, but it gives an odd feeling.
I think the best thing for MM is a new themed spinner from Gerlestaur. Have it nice and compact. And then have it have a separate loading and unloading station to boost the capacity since it is needed at MM.
-
^My home park is SFNE and we have Pandemonium, a THBS clone, and it's really fun. You spin like crazy. The only bad thing is the capacity. It is really low. There is always always an hour and a half plus wait.
Plus I don't think it will be called THBS I think yours will be named something different. Plus you already have the red and black color scheme.

Is the audio on Bizarro the same between SFGAdv and SFNE? Well obviously a change in duration.
If its the same or essentially the same then I agree. By the end of the ride I had a headache from the speakers blaring in my ears. I thought it was just too stupid and random.
Well there are some differences between the quotes. Some random quotes on New Jersey's Bizarro is different than SFNEs. But yeah it gets the same feeling. What does "Pull my finger!" have to do with anything? Haha, it is just really annoying.
-
If you don't like the audio on Bizarro, I suggest complaining. A lot of people complain about the randomness and annoyingness of it. I know I have emailed the park about it. But I bet the more people who make note of it, they will change it. I suggest emailing SFNE.
Great pics by the way!

Yep, all the Six Flags parks are. Every ride that needs painting is getting paint. Any ride that needs stuff done to it, is getting it done. Atleast that's how it is at SFNE. Anything that looks boring is being painted colorful. Take for example the Parachute Tower at GADv, it got painted. If you guys are complaining about Scream! not being painted, I bet it will be painted eventually. Six Flags wants all the parks to look brand new for 2011.
