Hello again.
Some of you may remember my short stint on here in 2009. Anybody?...
Anyway im back from living life and am now a proud daddy of a 1year old girl. Recently I've picked up RCT2 Again and have been planning a Disneyesque park for quite some, to the point that I have a masterplan sketched up. Building on Project:UK Will begin this weekend. I'll be posting my updates in the relevant section as early as this evening (Uk time) feel free to check it out and tell me what im doing wrong

Working on a new park, and after partially building the entrance I decided to test the pathways, so opened the gane as a scenario. heres where the problem lies: Peeps have no trouble getting in but when it's time to leave just walk up to the entrance/exit and turn away before consulting their maps why can't they leave?

This is the Wikipedia page for Sweeney Todd. Hope this helps.

Have you any comments on the park?

Like the look of this park or Pre-park. Hope the inside is as great as the outside. I will be watching

Me neither, seriously thinking about reworking it but can't see how I can at the minute
As for the park itself, it's going to be a mixture of ride types depending on the areas but it is definitely a THEME park rather than an Amusement park so yeah Kinda Universal/Disney inspired.

Hi there,
Progress is being made at an incredibly slow pace thanks to a strike by construction workers. However, LundGroup P.L.C. is proud to present its latest update:
The discussions over the problematic ‘Hub’ area resulted in yet more space put aside for gardens with inbuilt jumping fountains. It’s entertaining to guests and beautiful to the eye. The base of The Old Carousel can also be seen.
Lakeside Cafe has been completed and awaits its first hungry guests.
The boathouse will house the Queue line for the Boat hire attraction. (The roof is still missing)
The Entrance Building has had the park name sign put up and flagpoles installed. It’s finally ready for opening day!
Construction begins on the Outdoor Kids Area ‘SillyTown’. The Indoor play centre will be housed next door.
The first of 5 planned car parks: 2 staff, 2 guests, and 1 coach park.
And finally... a sneak peek at one of 3 as of yet unannounced Areas.

One word... Incredible. Any chance of a tutorial on the sly...?

^ Concession stands, Game stalls, or gift shops sound good at all?
Sounds exactly like what I was thinking. I'll get onto it and see what I can come up with.
-
Nope. It's neither spinning nor sally lol. I'm hoping to start a discussion with this next update: I've started work on the 'central hub' and have the base of the old carousel built, but i'm thinking I need some buildings in the highlighted areas to break up the pathways, any suggestions?

Wow nice architecture! Wish I had your skills!

ericmichaellucas: Two out of 3 words correct: S. Interactive Darkride
Also thanks for the comments guys, but hasn't anyone got any gripes at all? I can take negative feedback guys, after all its what makes us better...learning from mistakes and all that!

S.I.D. may stand for:
Squid In Distress
See, I'm Drowning
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Is Dumb
but I think it most likely stands for Shoot In Dark
None of the above! S.I.D. Will NOT be the ride name, its the codename.
Clue number 1: the 'D' stands for DARKRIDE
Heres more of the park:
Marizzio's Fully Licensed Restaurant
The newly fronted Fastrak Ticket Office
The Monorail Station

Some more progress. Please reply as i'm in dire need of Motivation and inspiration. I hate creative block...
The end of the main pathway.
another angle. Here we see the Bridge over the Hub moat.
Heights Cream looks a little different.
The newly named Heights Diner has its sign put up.
One of the two Cashpoint areas has been converted into the Que Times wall.
More slow progress!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
And a little teaser of the parks first ride code named S.I.D. 10 points and a free Fastrak ticket to the person who guesses what S.I.D. stands for!
The facade
The entrance and exit rooms along with the area of the building set aside to house S.I.D.
The exit area boasts 3 score screens. 'current Ride Scores', 'Previous Ride Scores' and 'All time High Scores'

Who knows?.. But I will say it has something to do with this poster.

Thats the plan. Making it work however is a different matter.
As the park will be large I'm struggling with the exact position of the 'Hub'
A massively long walk to get to the fun is hardly ideal, but too short a midway leaves too much space behind the 'Hub'. I'm thinking I need another area to break it up or something.
Here's some shots of the work being undertaken on the midway.
guess what this building will become?
An ice cream shop

OK so I usually start a park then get a complete mental block and cant for the life of me remember what it was I wanted to be achieve. Mostly resulting in a square blocky and frankly unattractive park. This is due to my ponchant for entrance Plazas. But this park will be different. I Shall be encompassing the Disney style 'Entrance Plaza- midway- central Hub' pathway system. Hopefully this will allow an entrance plaza and wide midway to be constructed but will not create a blocky feel. With this in mind, on to the build...
Full screenshots are avaliable on the preview thread.

Thanks dmaxsba2408:
I had completely forgotten about the little peeps icon, silly me, Sorted it now thanks.
My monorail will serve two purposes:
1) It will look like it is dropping guest off at the park gates, when in fact it is not (they will be entering through the hidden entrance and leaving the monorail building as if they have just got off). Hopefully hiding the underground entrance.
2) It will act as an actual ride. The plan is to construct a hidden underground pathway, with the entrance to said path being tucked away in a building. This will be access to the ride for the guest already in the park so you dont get that irritating "Guest can't reach the entrance to monorail" message. Hopefully this will add to the effect of guests just arriving at the gates via the Monorail. Obviously there will be a mix of those already IN the park and those who have just arrived via the hidden entrance.
Anyway, thanks for all your help and advice it is much appreciated.

Ok I've got have questions.
I'm trying to make a park that has two entrances both hidden and below ground. This is because I want to make a pre-entrance area and have the guests enter this area in two ways.
The first way i want to have the guests enter is via a monorail (or make it seem as though this is the case by having an underground path from my entrance to the monorail buildings exit)
The second way is the usual walking in from the car park. So with this in mind I have built the 2 hidden entrances but cant for the life of me remember how to make guest enter through both of these entrances. I have 8 cars and know i need the co-ordinates of the entry points but can't figure them out. Can anyone help?
the entry point that wil become the monorail station
The 'main' entrance

Thanks DBru.
I'm working on a central plaza at the moment that will act as a crossroads on the Midway, hopefully containing a Sportsbar and more shops, restaraunts..etc Basically another refuelling stop for tired and hungry guests as the park will be quite large.
I'm hoping to build all the pathways, Archy and transport before moving onto rides and themed sections
Any ideas on a name guys? once i have a name i'll start a thread so you can follow the progress.
-
Sorry for the double post but I just realised I posted my pics in the wrong order!
*noob mistake alert*
as for the screenies I haven't finished the square yet as it definately needs some foliage in the grass areas above the steps and around the Monorail. and the fencing around The xpressso's seating areas need to be deleted but they will go once and if the park ever opens.

Heres something iv'e been doing, no idea what the response to this is going to be as it's my first rct2 park (with buildings and full theming).
Any advice criticism would be appreciated. Wanted to see what you guys thought before i decide wether to continue and make a thread. I also need a name. Here are a few screenies.
